  2. Ok, on a more serious note...the way you describe this hole riding experience scares me... 3 hours on a bike - too much gas in a curve, "the body heals itself", no insurance, no gear.... man, don't worry about fixing the bike! Get your MSF class, your gear, insurance and THEN think about getting back on it.
  3. umh....I would like to know the physics of that...
  4. Suntorn...glad you are ok. And definitely glad to hear you will wear full gear from now on...
  5. Hahaha...yes, when I went through the rider coach training I was the only girl with 13 guys...they farted, belched etc around me and when I asked if they had noticed that there was a girl around I heard the phrase "you're not a girl, you're one of the guys" ...
  6. ...guys.....AND GIRLS...thank you very much....
  7. Thanks for the pointer...that is good to know.
  8. I am with you on that. I guess I will just ask someone if he has that kind of insurance b4 I call the ambulance.
  9. Wow, that stuff is crazy here... Hate to bring up Germany, but there we pay a small fee for the ambulance ride, maybe like 60 Euros and the same for the care flight. It floors me how someones life or treatment can depend on money like that.
  10. Well, an ambulance prevented my death when I was six. Had a ruptured spleen after a car wreck and made it to the hospital with only minutes to spare...no bloodpressure or pulse palpable...pulled through...I am thankful I am here. And yes, my friend died IN the ambulance. I guess what I am saying is that someone would die in front of me and I had not done something about it, I would have to live with that for the rest of my life. Hell, why am I ranting on trying to convince a bunch of hardcore guys - I am a woman, and I will always think A LITTLE different than you all - since I am from the wonderful planet VENUS and you guys are from the strange planet MARS!!!!
  11. Quote: Then you you do that, cops get involved, you have to pay for a ticket and your liscense gets some nice points on it. If it were me, I wold not have wanted cops there.Quote I understand what you are saying, but seriously? Where do you draw the line? You call the ambulance when you see him missing limbs? Or are you worried about the cops, more specifically, a ticket and points, then too? Like Gib said, internal injuries cannot be seen. A friend of mine crashed on his bike and all he complained about was his broken leg, 20 minutes later he was dead from internal bleeding. I mean seriously mine or anybody elses life is worth more than a ticket or points on my license.
  12. Just got word out of the hospital....his hand is broken in two places and his pelvis is pretty bruised up! He may still get released tonight. But we were chewed out for not having called an ambulance ...- which hindsight is 20/20. Mel
  13. Got back about 20 minutes ago....was truly awesome and rather eventful! Gibby just left to the hospital to check on the last guy that went down. Hopefully he will be ok. We waited another hour until the trailer showed up, then they left and when the four of us that were left wanted to leave, the Buell would not start... So, we had a great time and after 2 down (one slightly hurt and the other one to hopefully be ok), a dead bird, lost spring of a sidestand, a bike that would not start, endless amounts of sweat, lots of adrenalin and new friends, I am glad to be back home! Phew! Thanks Guys!!!
  14. WHOOT-WHOOT!!!! RSVDON talkin' smack and won't even be there.....Ah HEAAALLL NO!!! :D
  15. Alright, I guess some got my suggestion confused with bitchin'. I really don't give a rats a$$ how you guys do it. I am down either way. NinjaNick, thanks for putting this together, like I said before I am excited to go!!! It was just a suggestion b/c anyone who has done it should know that the dynamics in a huge group and with cruisers and sportbikes is different than small groups and if you keep them in different groups. Plus, someone said in here that they had not seen a lg group like that going to this. So I was just wondering if someone had thought of splitting it up. Now stop talking out of your a$$ - if you don't like reading what I write, go read somewhere else!!
  16. Hahaha..that's what I thought!!!! Jk.... I am sure it works...I guess it is the MSF Instructor in me coming out! lol And thank god for no traffic lights. :-) Can't wait to see new roads with turns actually???
  17. Just food for thought. In our riding group in Germany we used to split up the sportbikes and the cruisers and we had no more than about 12 bikes in a group. That was done for safety reasons, to be able to stay together (traffic lights, intersections) and obviously different riding styles/speeds etc. Usually we would have roadcaptains for each group and they would lead the way. There was a meeting spot we agreed on where we would all meet up again. Just my 2 cents for a group ride. Really looking forward to the ride btw. Went for a few hours last night and I thought I would die of a heatstroke...that's what you get for wearing ATGATT! :-) Had fun nonetheless!
  18. I guess we better put the route in the GPS because with all the flippin traffic lights this country has, we'll get split up more than once.... What time are we meeting again?
  19. Are you guys planning on having all 40 +/- bikes in one group???
  20. us too!!! btw you did not count my hubby (Gibby) in... :-) Can't wait!
  21. Hi, you don't really GIVE bone marrow. They draw blood from you and identify your parameters and then put the info in a database. If someone needs bone marrow, they will run his parameters through the system and try to find a match. I was in a database in GErmany for 7 years and only one time they contacted me telling me that I might be a match for someone but they would have to run further detailed testing. Then a few weeks later, they wrote me a letter saying one of the parameters was not a match. And it truly has to be a 100% match. I can write more later but I gotta go to work now. :-)
  22. Congrats, definitely an awesome choice!!! :-D
