  1. I'm at about 20k and still going. Doesn't help that my commute is less than two minutes away, but I try to make up for it by doing as many errands as possible or randomly traveling somewhere on two wheels. Currently 1500 miles away from 100k on the odometer. I think I can pull it off before the end of 2010...
  2. Perhaps...it is after work on a Saturday.
  3. Sorry to hear about your loss. I'm glad she did get a few moments with her.
  4. Very strange. I've seen that happen to BMW heated stock grips but not until they're over 70-80,000 miles or the bike's over 10 years old. I'm curious to see how they'll react to this warranty claim, because 7/8" bars is 7/8" bars is 7/8" bars.
  5. Pinlock or Cat Crap for me. More like Pinlock for the shield and Cat Crap for the glasses, because they'll fog up even if the shield doesn't. To my knowledge, Pinlock is only available for HJC, Shoei, Arai, and Nolan. Wish it was available for other helmets, though.
  6. I've always liked the RC51 (there's always a spot in my heart for sport V-Twins), but from a touring aspect I couldn't see myself in that position for hours at a time. I wonder if they make Heli Bars for it.
  7. I've never been a fan of riding Mullholland Drive. Aside from that stupidity, you get people straddling the middle lane in both cages and bikes. In some areas residents have even been known to pour oil on the road just to be assholes and try to kill us. It's like the Dragon without the t-shirts.
  8. We were going to ride last year, but it was pretty snowy and the entire parking lot was an ice rink. Hopefully it'll be dry this year. Except for 2010, I rode to every IMS I ever attended. Then again, that was Long Beach, CA, where they had every brand represented and test rides during the dead of winter where it was 70°F. Yeah, if you took your car over there you were seriously a complete loser.
  9. I use RAM mounts quite a bit. On the FJR it's for my Garmin Zumo 550 and I also have their self-balancing cup holder mounted on the other side. I've also got the camera base mount for those days when a few shots are needed. Awesome products that work for just about everything.
  10. Not certain on that 'one' bike but I've got a few finalists. BMW R1200GS (low seat, low suspension), Triumph Tiger 1050, Benelli Tre 1130 K, Moto Guzzi Griso 1200 8V SE, or perhaps that Yamaha Tenere 1200. At the rate I'm going I think I'm going to outlast my FJR!
  11. Nice! Congrats on a successful run (no pun intended) and many more years to come! Gotta stop in one of these events see what my FJR is "really" made of sometime.
  12. Nice! I'm still waiting for my IBA number too. Did an SS1000 in August from Columbus to Spartanburg, SC and back. That was 1100 miles and 21 hours thanks to a number of thunderstorms in NC, SC, and WV. FJR, Corbin seat, and XM Radio FTW!
  13. Well, it's legal as long as it's not on the interstate and there's no beer. Perhaps a ride to QS&L that way?
  14. :lol:The trailer hitch comment never gets old. Yes, that's a legit trailer hitch on the back of the FJR. Trailer also doubles as a party wagon. Might as well put those ponies to good use.
  15. My mantra: Ride to ice (and eventually find a way to ride in ice). Cars! I know those cages. They try to kill me every chance they get.
  16. Dammit...now I find out they've scheduled me from open to close. Perhaps I can get Matt to go have some nice dinner over there and bring home to-go? Grumble.
