  1. Been happy with my Corbin, but I agree, it is a hit-or-miss kind of seat for people. I've had Corbins on my FJR and my SV650 and loved them both. It is a "delayed gratification" kind of seat, though. The firmness is designed to spread out the pressure in areas that get uncomfortable after long periods of time, so definitely not on the plushy side. I have to applaud its durability and quality...it's handled my butt for the last 88k miles and has been through many a rainstorm, snowfall, and roasting heatwave.
  2. Had one of those in the past. Wonderful bike!
  3. Not your imagination. Wouldn't surprise me that the temps that do ride there don't wear helmets hoping they don't get caught, and some of them are already drunk by the time they get there. I only go to the QSL @ Polaris because of that trailer with the guys that sew the patches on. They're an awesome bunch and skilled at what they do, so I give them my business. So far they've sewed on seven patches on two jackets. Good stuff. Usually, no sheep are harmed during a normal QSL night either.
  4. :lol:Yup, that'll do it. At the Meijer I used to work at, the bamboo chopsticks were located in the Hispanic aisle as well. Made no sense, but they didn't pay me enough to care to move it over.
  5. :lol:Agreed, some of that stuff is clever. Or on the other hand...
  6. It's back for sale at IP. Didn't go back there today (it was busy) but it's been there as of Thursday.
  7. Yeah, I noticed the lack of people. No worries...fish and chips were good and Moto GP/AMA Motocross was on TV. Good times.
  8. Bored, broiling, just came from Triumph test rides at Motohio, and it's only four miles away from the house! Be there in a bit.
  9. Sounds like a fun thread. Here I go. 1st Bike: 2004 Suzuki GZ250. First bike I had in college; got it the following summer after getting my license. Rode about 1000 miles on it, turned around and sold it to another student and picked up... 2nd Bike:1983 Yamaha XJ750 Maxim Had this bike for about 3000 miles until the engine blew a piston riding back from south Orange County. It taught me the freeway and everything else in between. Was able to sell it to a guy for a couple hundred as a parts bike. Was bikeless for a month and then picked up my... 3rd Bike: 2005 Suzuki SV650 This bike introduced me to aggressive cornering and sport touring. I threw 20,000 miles on it in a year and traded it in for my current FJR1300. 4th Bike: 2007 FJR1300 This one's been with me through hell and back. It's still kicking with over 89,000 miles on the odometer and 37 states covered. So far it's the bike that's done everything. 5th Bike: 2008 Kawasaki Z1000 I've always wanted this bike and was able to acquire one when it first came out in 2008. So this little beast is part of the family now. It just ticked 10k on the odometer earlier this week. I've also had the chance to test ride more than two dozen bikes in between all of the two-wheeled kids. It's been a great seven years of motorcycling for me and I'm looking forward to more fun times.
  10. Rat house FTW! That's my standard answer for that. Actually, I've also heard of people using old helmets as a chassis for a custom build PC. That's a little engineering right there but it sounds awesome.
  11. lady rider in the works! :plus1:for the MSF course. You'll be on 250cc (or smaller) bikes in that class. Once you're done with that you'll have an idea of what the small displacement bikes feel like and start shopping from there. Good luck!
  12. :lol:I'd rather watch that on TV. Speaking of police chases, there were quite a few high speed ones that were televised back in LA where the pursuit route were usually around my work, my old high school, or close to my parents' house. The best one was a chase that zipped right past the high school I taught at during class. We had the TVs on in the classroom and muted them as we heard the cars run down the street. That's interactive media right there.
  13. No problems with the Two Bros. on the FJR after 25k miles. Bike has a little more kick than stock, and I love the deep sound. The 11 lb. weight drop is wonderful too. Will have to agree, Power Commander is necessary if you're doing anything to the exhaust. The PC is also a common fix for that notoriously jumpy throttle on the FJR. Never tried the Juice Box; Two Bros. never made it for my bike.
  14. for the V-Star. It's got pep and it's mellow enough to learn on.
  15. Best wings I've ever had has so far been Wing Stop. There's tons of them in So Cal but there's only one location in Ohio in Mentor-on-the-Lake. On the mild side, garlic parmesan is wonderful. For spicy, the cajun flavor is great too. Can't beat the fries; most flavorful and unique tasting...they're a meal in themselves! IMO nothing in Columbus has beaten them, although I'll put a for BC Roosters. Wing Stop is definitely worth the 165 mile ride.
