  1. Yes! I'm not the only one in the state of OH with one of these bad boys! Here's mine. It'll be out to play on one of these bike nights...
  2. Yikes! That sounds a bit much. I didn't even pay that much for the FJR, and this was back in CA!
  3. Brakes and filters are relatively inexpensive on a Katana; I think I paid about $30 for the EBC rear pads (I have an FJR) and did them myself in about 15 minutes. Fronts should be about the same or less depending on how many pistons your front calipers are. Bleeding brakes is easy, too. Depending on when they were last done, and if you're careful about not letting the calipers dangle, you may not need to do them when you change the pads out.
  4. Yay! Hope to see you in the store sometime. Try working there and being surrounded by all the goodies between 5-10 hours at a time on any given day. I think I'm at two personal shirts as a customer, and extras end up as birthday/Christmas/[insert holiday here] gifts. Too many damn replacement tires.
  5. I was waiting for someone to say that.

Perhaps if CA did that for every accident the dang state would be out of debt by now.
  7. Enjoyed the pizza! See you all in a couple weeks.
  8. Gotta get more buddies to go on random rides like that. I didn't expect to go to WV yesterday...just blowing off steam because searching for a new apartment has been a total biotch. This was a lot more fun than punching someone and/or a wall.
  9. Lunch with fam, then rode to Wheeling on a whim via side routes. Route 250 was fun; finally had an excuse to get the absolute edge of the tires. Played video poker at Wheeling Island for a few minutes and won enough to pay for the tank of gas home.
  10. OEM filter and Amsoil synthetic for me. Switched over from Repsol (can't get Amsoil in CA) and tried it on a whim because it was $10 a gallon cheaper. Been happy with it; seems like the bike runs even smoother.
  11. I seriously don't get the no gear thing out here. I'm nervous enough going around the block of my own neighborhood with just jeans and a t-shirt.
  12. Saw you right before you putted off...I was about 100 yards away talking to a couple BMW guys. Tried to wave at you but you were already on your way. Oh well, another day. :-P
  13. But it is fun to stare and drool, too!
  14. LOL...have to check on that employee discount. Should kick in within the next month. Flying Brick is pestering me about the new EXO-750 that's coming out in May. You can also poke Moose about the discount too; he started there a few days before I did. ;)

I'll be riding quite a bit; the off days aren't the weekend so it should be a lot less crowded on the twisty roads. Got a couple trips planned for the summer as well. I'm headed to Dayton tomorrow with a friend via a non-freeway route so it should be interesting. Never tried getting there that way.

  15. The Ducati is fun, but I'm a fan of stepping out of the norm. A couple other options on the "naked" bike side... Kawasaki ER-6n Aprilia Shiver 750
  16. That is tempting...just finished cleaning the bikes, too...
  17. Yup, that was me. It'll be there almost every day of the week because I work at Pony in the helmet department now. I wonder if Moose has ridden in to work yet. :)

  18. Pretty much on two wheels as long as there's no ice on the ground. As long as you're in the right gear you're set.
  19. Tested one a couple years back when they first came out. The engine has a nice pick up and go. However, I had to spend the first mile and a half reminding myself that I didn't have to countersteer or lean...reminds me of a road ATV. Overall, a pretty nice ride for being a three-wheeled bike. Can-Am has released a touring model for 2010 that's supposed to be more plush and has a trailer option. Sounds like a possibility to me.
