  1. You shouldn't have any issues with locals or tourists, except maybe the road to Hana. A few places are one lane wide, and some of the locals know that road very well and will go very fast on it. I've only been to Maui, so I don't know about the other islands.
  2. Up by a goal with a minute left. And we blow it. Awesome. Sens score twice in 30 seconds. The rest of the month doesn't look much better.
  3. My wife can't plant both feet on the ground on her bike, and she does just fine. It just takes practice. I'm not a fan of lowering bikes, it changes how the bike handles too much, imo. You could try wearing boots with a thicker sole first. It is funny to see her test ride tall bikes at her shop, and seeing her have to hop off the seat to put one foot down.
  4. I was a notary in CA, where it's $10 per signature. Well worth my time. One loan doc could have 10 signatures per person, that's a quick $200 for a couple. I could also charge extra for travel time if I wanted to. It just never seemed profitable out here, unless if you had clients lined up all day.
  5. The wife and I rode to Toronto on Thursday, and back on Saturday. Almost 1k miles round trip. Went to the Hockey Hall of Fame on Friday, I think we spent a few hours in there. It was a good long distance test for the scooter which did very well considering it's only a 250.
  6. That's an ER-6n. I think the first year it was sold in the states was '09. A 650r with a tiny faring. I don't know about insurance, I figure it can't be too much more than a 650r.
  7. Look at the bottom of the seat. If it's anything like my Z1000, you can just pull the staples out of the bottom, add some more foam, and re-staple it. Any craft store will have the foam, staples, and even new vinyl/leather if you wanted a different color.
  8. When I worked for the CA DMV, this was an easy fix. You would bring the bike and title in for inspection, and sign a statement of facts explaining what happened. I'm not positive it'll be that easy in Ohio, but it shouldn't be too far off. I think most dealerships will inspect the bike, that's how we had to register our bikes from CA.
  9. My elementary school in New Hampshire would read it over the intercom every morning. You didn't have to say it, you only had to stand quietly. My only beef with it is the "under God" part. Otherwise I'm all for it.
  10. I commute on my 250 scooter every day. It only has 20hp, which is plenty for its weight. Tops out at an indicated 86mph. It still accelerates way faster than the average car, so I don't feel unsafe riding it. Of course I'm also the same guy who rode a 50cc scooter all winter two years ago. And the bit about California above is correct; anything less than 150cc is considered a "motor-driven cycle", not a motorcycle, and cannot be ridden on the highway.
  11. Wife's FJR with the suspension set to hard and a Givi case with backrest works well for us. We'll take turns as rider/passenger and do lots of stretching/standing during the ride. Corban seats and XM radio help a lot too.
  12. I own 2 pairs, and Silverfox bought her second pair not too long ago. Plus Thor customer service is awesome, they sent us new buckles twice, for free, when the original pair wore out.
  13. I wear Thor 50-50 boots. I think they were made for ATV riding, but I love them. For the cold or wet, I have some waterproof Alpinestars. I was wearing the Alpinestars when I was hit by a car at 45mph, and they didn't rip or show more than a few a few scuff marks.
  14. ...you turn your sport bike into a touring bike. I just finished getting my Givi case set up on Z1000 by modifying the rear seat to accept their mounting bracket. I know Givi makes a rear luggage rack for the Z1000, but I think it's ugly. Once I buy a second rear seat, I'll be able to switch out the modified seat with the stock one in seconds. This was my second attempt, the seat I bought on ebay was for a first gen Z1000 or 636. Oops. I'll sell that seat in a separate thread. I still have a few more things planned for the Z1000 touring wise, I'll update here as I get them. Onto the pics!
  15. Of the few people that have a Z1000 on here, I need the rear seat for a project that I'm working on. Condition doesn't matter, I'm going to recover it.
  16. I have four tickets in the lower bowl that I can't use (I have work and the wife is playing hockey). Section 118, Row NN, Seats 1-4. They're playing against the Kings. These are normally $58 each, I'll take $100 OBO for all four.
  17. I've bought Silverfox an oil change kit and a hairless rat as previous V-day gifts. She loved both.
