  1. Look at these.... http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=89404 The Bell's are American...if you want to support USA jobs. Anyways, I have the Bell Star and even if it is Smell2005, which is still awesome raiting...it is the most comfortable helmet I have ever worn. Love it and will buy another when this one is up for replacement.
  2. I have been looking at maybe getting a pair of these or the Icon Strykers. These are not my size, but I will give you a bump. Just out of curiosity, why are you selling them?
  3. For those of you that believe protection is the way to ride. Checkout these deals from http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/s...le+helmets/all Especially the Bell Star helmets. Yes, they are the earlier version before 2010, so they are Snell M2005 rated, but let me tell you that these are the most comfortable helmets I have ever had the pleasure of wearing. They come with a 5 year warranty on all parts, plus they are an American company, meaning at least the R&D is done in the USA. I love the Bell Star Matte Black, but I went with the Bell Star Contra Blue...and my reasoning why is the $75 difference between the helmets, but also the Contra Blue comes with a total of 3 face shields...yes, 2 clear & 1 dark smoke. Those faceshields are about $40 a piece. So, add up the cost difference and I saved $350 from the retail price plus the $155 for a total cost savings of $505 from the original retail price of this helmet. HOLY SMOKES Batman!!!! For those prices, buy two. It is really up to you. (Didn't mean to ryhme....or did I?) Anyways, just wanted to pass on the great savings to all my Ohio riders out there. Ride Hard, but Safe. OhioBob
  4. Does anyone have the Bell Moto 8 helmet? If so, do you think it is worth $180 brand new? ( I believe it is the 2009 version rather than the 2010, which I believe was Snell2010 rated.) How does it compared to the Bell MX-1 helmet? How much better (safety wise) is the Moto 9 compared to the Moto 8? (I know MX-1 is Snell2010 & DOT & Moto 8 is Snell2005 & DOT while the Moto 9 is Snell2010 & DOT.) Is there that much of a difference to justify the huge price difference between the helmets? Currently, I have the MX-1, which is Snell M2010 rated. I am thinking about returning it for the Moto 8 which is the 2009 version, rated Snell M2005 & DOT & wondering if it is worth the extra $50 over the MX-1. Thanks in advance. OhioBob

  6. Does anyone own the Shift Racing Avenger jacket? http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/1/1/39/17952/CITEM/Shift-Racing-Avenger-Jacket-Closeouts.aspx If so, did you get a back protector for it? If so, where and what kind? Thanks in advance. OhioBob
  7. Oh, yes. If you pass on it let me know. I have been back and forth about the SV1000 for months. Now, I am wishing I would have jumped on it when I had the chance, but then again this price is much better and newer year and lower miles. One of these days I will own a SV. The best of both worlds...V-Twin & Sporty. Love the sounds of a V-Twin sportbike. Heck, I was hoping that Honda would produce a VTwin Sportbike again to compete with the SV, but no go. Sucks...guess I will have to change my loyalties. Hehehehehe
  8. Do you think the 510SMR will be enough to haul this big frame 6'2" 220lb?
  9. Crap!!! Now, I have to jump on that 510. And yes, I will be getting a bigger tank for it too. Thanks, wacky, you just helped me spend my fun money for the next five years. LOL.
  10. No, you won't have to deal with Steam, but Origin, which my first impressions already are sad, pathetic, compared to Steam.
  11. I am thinking about it too. If you are a Dish Network customer, they are offering the same package as Netflix (1 disc at a time, streaming, games (consoles), etc.) for $10 / month. I am waiting to see if they come up with an app like Netflix did for built in support for my bluray player, XBOX360 & PS3. Just FYI. OhioBob
  12. This one is for sure a Top 5 on my Youtube videos best SM riding. I am sure you have seen it. It just looks like crazy wild fun that I need. My job is crazy stressful, especially with a stupid boss. (IT field) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViwaepHyPxY
  13. Because it is lighter. I have seen the videos and videos don't lie or something like that.
  14. My idea of fun is definitely this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViwaepHyPxY & this too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g40XsxAxkD0&feature=related & maybe some of this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_XclcbhmnF0 & possibly this too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rQFO4PXNtTo . I am 6'2" & 220lb. I love the backing it in to corners. The occassional power wheelie out of corners, but more about getting thru the twisties faster than the sporty bikes. I live 2 miles from work and will probably ride it to work and use it to cut loose on the weekends to in an attempt to forget about all the work stress. I could care less about dirt, that is why they make dirt bikes exclusively for. Thanks. OhioBob
  15. Yeah, I know. I was really set on a Husky 510 SMR, but can not find them any where for sale, not even at the dealer, especially since they replaced them with a 511 SMR now. So, then I decided that the Husky 610 SM was the next best thing, well, I have only been able to find one on CL, but over $6k for it. Just a little too much for what I am wanting to pay for a SM, since it will be my first SM. I have been reading and hearing lots of great things about the Suzuki DRZ400SM. Especially how great the prices are for used ones and all. How bullet proof it is and fun to ride, yeah it lacks power, but was just wondering how much performance gains I can expect from mods and such for it. Thanks.
  16. Hi, What mods are the most common to be performed on the DRZ400SM? (i.e. 3 x 3, full exhaust system, big bore kit, etc.) And what kind of performance boost will you get out of the mods? I believe stock numbers for the DRZ400SM are like: 35hp & 28 torque? How much more can I get out of the DRZ with mods? (I am hoping to get close to 50 hp & 40 + torque.) Is this doable without compromising the reliablity of the motor?
  17. Glad to hear your OK. You were wearing an Icon helmet? I was thinking about a Shoei or Arai. But they are so expensive & the sellers convinced me that Icon & Bell helmets were not as good. Hmmmm.
  18. CarWhore, It may have been yours. I was about to pull the trigger, but I was too late. I really wanted a SM510R, but they don't make them anymore and they are next to impossible to find used for sale. Yeah, I have to agree about chancing the whole jail time on a sportbike, but always wanted to try a liter bike. But I was thinking of getting a sumo and then replacing my VTX with something like a CB1000R, if I can find a stealership selling them in the states these days. The last dealer said he was getting two in and might even make one a demo, but the next month he said he was dropped as a CB1000R dealer. Oh, well. If the SM610 is as fun as this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViwaepHyPxY than count me in. Better than a sportbike, but not faster in the straight, which is fine for me. The fun is in the twisties, not the long straight boring road. Right?
  19. OK, which would you get? 03 CBR954RR less than 9k miles, Titanium/Black, Carbon fiber Two Bros exhaust, flush mount front turn signals, sportech tinted windscreen, fender elim kit, CBR racing grips. Asking: $4500 OR 07 Husqvarna 610SM about 4000 miles, Red/White, Leo vince exhaust, Fender eliminator, wheel sliders, brand new pilot power rear tire. Asking $4750 Is that a good price for the SM? I know the CBR is a good price, because I have been looking for a CBR for over a year now. The SM's are harding to find. If you only had a VTX (cruiser) & was looking to get a second bike in the stable, which would you pick & why?
  20. Thanks Wacky, that is exactly what I am looking for too. A fun play toy. Don't have time to tour or anything like that, just want to be a hooligan in the short time I have to ride. Thanks for the input, it has been a great help. Shouldn't BMW dealers being offering Huskies these days? Thanks again.
  21. Yeah, it is "got the look". Now does it meet my schedule, all fun and low garage time? LOL I am liking the fact that it comes with everything already, tires, brakes, etc. Instead of converting a true dirtbike to sm. But it also, has the capablity to be a weekend track warrior too. The 610 is about 40 - 50 lbs heavier. So, not sure about that one, but it could be an alternative. Thanks.
  22. Anyone have the Husky SM 510 R? How bad is the maintenance schedule for it? I think I am liking the 510, but concerned about reliablity and maintenance. Thanks again. OhioBob
  23. OK, so the KTM 525 or 500, are they true sm or like the Husky 510 or 610? I guess I am wanting something that is flickable (nimble) and just plain crazy fun back and forth to work (2 miles), but more so on the weekends with all these incredible country roads that I am surrounded by. I would love to start a sm club around here too. Really am leaning towards a Husky SM 610 or maybe the SMR 510, love the light weight specs of the 510. Just want something to release my hooligan side. I know I have been watching too many sm Youtube videos. LOL I could care less for touring or anything of that nature. Just want something that will be a blast on. You know, back into corners, wheelies, stoppies, drifting, etc. I need to find a way to relieve all this work related stress before it kills me.
  24. Hi, am wondering what kind of maintenance schedule & reliablity that these bikes for supermoto mostly street use give? Yamaha WR450F Honda XR450R I know I could just go with the Husky 610 SM, and yes, I am thinking about it, but just wondering about these trial bikes. Also, know the CRF450R would the the real blast, but true racing bike would take more time in the garage than on the street having fun, correct? Thanks for your time. OhioBob
