    Bike Night

Just FYI. I heard that the QSL in Beavercreek is supposed to be pretty good turn outs, or at least it use to a few years ago. I checked with Beavercreek QSL and they confirmed it is the 2nd Thursday of each month and it starts in May, which would be May 14th. If anyone is interested in going/meeting up, just let me know.
  2. I would love to join you all, but unfortunately, I will be out of town during this event. Maybe we can plan something in June for the Southern Ohio, Northern Kentucky OR's.
  3. Sounds like a plan brother. Can't wait. I'll introduce you to some more technical twisty routes the next time we're out and about. I am curious of how you'll crush them too.
  4. Yeah, r1crusher was crushing it in the curves. I am not even close to being in the same league of sportbike riding as he is. I felt like ol' grandpa trying my best to catch up on the straights. LOL I really need to do a trackday or two to really fully understand how to ride a sportbike which is so different than other bikes I have had/ridden in the past. Needless to say I have some well defined chicken strips, for sure. This thing just goes and is happiest when it is going. I am still amazed that our government (USA) hasn't banned these types of bikes from being on the streets. Thanks again and look forward to many more rides this season.
  5. Well, r1crusher and I got to take a quick spin on Friday afternoon. It was a fun time. Great guy too. The rest of us should plan a ride, whether it is short jaunt or half days ride, whatever and just show the rest of the Southern Ohio area that sportbike riders can be nice people and not the stereotype young punks. Thanks again r1crusher for getting together. This year is going to be an epic year of riding...at least I hope so. If anyone is serious about meeting up with me and others, PM and I will give you an alternative way to reach me.
  6. Yes, Hillsboro, Ohio. And yes there are too many great twisty roads to name them all here.
  7. Head my way and we can hit 763, but I have family over until this evening. So, I wouldn't be able to go until probably after 5pm today.

  9. Man, this is my opportunity to join in on the reindeer games, but I was planning to attend the Independent Motorsports free dyno day festivities on Saturday. They start at 10am. I plan to ride afterwards, probably early afternoon. If you are willing to head South of Columbus, I can show you some nice roads for sporty bikes. :-)
  10. Well, I finally have my front tire issue resolved on the VTX. So, I am good to go with either style of riding. However, I have been riding "The Beast" so far this season. Just yesterday I took a quick spin down 73 to 785 in Belfast over to Fairfax on 247 and back up to Hillsboro. It was too nice of a day to pass up after work. I know I should have been working in the mower and mowing the grass, but sometimes fun wins out in my book. LOL
  11. Same here. I am always up for a get together and test ride someone else's bikes is icy on the cake.
  12. Bell Star are awesome. Ask me how I know? :-)
  13. I run Goodyear on my cars because I heard they had a factory in northern Ohio, but when I was checking the tire pressures the other week, I noticed it says right on the tire that they are made in Canada. LOL As for my VTX, I am running Avon Venom tires and love them. I know it is hard to believe but they really make the VTX handle much much better. It tips into turns so much easier than before. As for "The Beast" (CBR), I am running Dunlop Q3's at the moment and loving them. They were highly raved about and cheapest with the discounts & MiR's at the time. I have been thinking of trying out the Avon sportbike equilavalent to the Dunlop Q3's for "The Beast" after it chews through the Q3's, but I might just stick with the Q3's. Time will tell.
  14. Took a couple spins around on "The Beast" already. I still need to replace my front tire on the "X" (VTX) before I can take it for a spin, but the oil & filter are changed and it has been fired up couple of times already. I plan to head over to CCM this Saturday to get the new tread on and then hopefully take her out for a quick spin that afternoon or Sunday. I still want to bleed the brakes on both bikes and get my sag set for "The Beast", but I just have to ride when I can at the moment to keep my sanity or is it insanity??? Hmmm.... LOL
  15. Sweet. I have a buddy that rides a Honda Shadow 600 from Georgetown. I just went through Batavia earlier today...not on two wheels but 4. Sunday is looking to be some good weather. I could meet up with anyone in the afternoon. Just let me know.
  16. What is covered? What do you do or practice in the Advanced Rider's course? I took the Basic Rider course years ago with my wife and it was fun, but I always wanted more from it. I heard about the Advanced Riders Course, but never knew anyone that took it. I am just curious of what is covered (i.e. skills, scenarios, maneuvers, etc.).
  17. Sorry stupid auto incorrect on my smart phone. I meant FZ-09.
  18. Sweet. I think it was a orange FX-09 with a white Z1000. FYI, A&M Farms is on St Rte 251 East of Cincy. So, probably not you then.
  19. Great job on the design and colors. Any chance I can get it in Tall sizes? (i.e. XL Tall aka XLT)
  20. r1crusher, Sure thing. Just give me a yell sometime and we will meet up and ride brother. Take care. OhioBob
  21. Bubba, Do you ride a white Z1000? Does it have powdercoated wheels? Were you out riding last fall over at A&M Farms? Maybe a friend road a FZ-09 that day? Just curious. I sometimes find that we live in a ever shrinking world and you never know who you will run across in the "real world".
  22. OK, r1crusher. Sorry for the loss. Take care and keep in touch. We will get together and ride soon enough. The season is only beginning.
  23. OK. I finally took "The Beast" out for a quick spin after work yesterday. A bit chilling, but felt so good to get back on two wheels after 5 months of winter shut-in. I probably will take another spin after work today. If anyone is interested in meeting up for a quick spin this evening, just let me know.
  24. r1crusher, Good point. However, I have a couple of local guys, one who can change tires within an hour or so at his house which is about 4 miles away. He has a good wheel/tire changer system and wheel balancer, etc. He did my CBR tires last summer. I went from worn our Michelin PP 2CT's to my current Dunlop Q3's. I am loving these Q3's. So, I am thinking of giving him a call soon to take care of the VTX. Yeah, the more bikes I accumulate the more it is worth it to do as much of my own maintenance as possible. (Correction: I meant 770, not 771.)
