  1. Sweet!!! Yeah, I had planned out a few routes that included NKY (Rte 10 and such), but work and school got in the way. I have some nice twisty routes local to me (247, 771, 41, etc.) Yeah, let me know when you are up to weekend rides. I have a buddy who works in Winchester and I grew up near Peebles. So, I am very familiar with all the great back roads. Yeah, I still have a few small things to do on my CBR and still need to replace the flat front tire on the VTX, but I am ready for summer. Wild Hogs!!! Let's roll!!! :-)
  2. Hillsboro. About an hour East of Cincinnati and an hour or so South of Columbus. (Highland County) Just checked out where you are from and holy toledo...you are near Cleveland. Anyways, if you ever head this way, I have plenty of nice twisty roads for your Duc's to gobble up and keep asking for more.
  3. Just giving a shout out to anyone in my neck of the woods or plan to swing by this way in early April, say April 4th or April 11th (both Saturdays). I plan to take my "beast", referencing the Beast from X-Men...mainly because my beast is blue and it is well...a beast (2006 CBR1000RR) down my favorite twisties as long as the weather is decent. You are welcome to join me, just give me a shout and we can plan where to meet up and all of that detail stuff. I have a great little trek of twisties, scenary, elevation changes, etc. that will keep you on your toes the whole way for about 50 miles or more. It is "my little secret loop". One heck of a ride, just saying. OhioBob
  4. Sweet to hear Casper. I think more events like the Roll On Columbus are needed to raise awarnesses of diseases and draw people closer together as a community to help where they can, especially us bikers as too many cagers have this stereotype that all bikers are bad news. Yeah, I saw that AMA Superbike is not coming to Mid Ohio this year, which is a bummer, but then again, I finally attended AMA Vintage Days for the first time last year and it is waaaaaaay better. I plan to attend Vintage Days again this year. I had such a blast of a time. So, much to see and do there. I can't see why anyone who likes bikes wouldn't attend...PERIOD.
  5. Is this event going to happen again? I attended the first or second year and even won tickets to the Mid Ohio AMA Superbike weekend. The Roll On Columbus event was a blast of a time, with plenty of vendors, stunt riders, bike show and a great crowd. Just was curious.
  6. Calendar marked. Can't wait. It is going to be epic time.
  7. What town we talking? It sounds like something I would love to attend. In fact, I still need my front tire changed on my VTX. Have the new tire and all, but the current front tire won't keep air for long. Within an hour it losses 10lbs. So, I need to know if the location is close enough to ride out to.
  8. I am listening. I have been wanting to dyno my CBR for a while now, but couldn't find a shop with a dyno that was somewhat local to me. Pick a date and I will put it on my calendar. Any coming from the Hillsboro area or Southern Ohio area? We could ride up together. OhioBob
  9. I have been doing an extensive amount of reading on this very topic over the last few months. I need to set my sag on my 2006 CBR1000RR this Spring. I have been checking into upgrading my VTX1300C suspension with Race Tech Gold Valve Cartridge Emulators and correct Race Tech springs for my weight too. If this is still on I would be interested. The more information/education on suspension tuning the better.
  10. I may be game for that day. I am not ready to store my bikes away yet just yet. However, I can only ride my CBR1000RR for about 35 miles or so before having to stop to stretch. I have a great little 40 - 45 mile loop near me if you like twisties and elevation changes. OhioBob
  11. Yeah, it is a kit you can purchase over at Amazon (GoPro Side Mount). Prior to the kit you just had to create it yourself with extra mounting parts. Nothing big or fancy. The hardest thing was getting the camera pointing in the right direction, but now with the GoPro App allowing Preview it is so easy a Cave Man can do it...or is it so easy even a baby can do it?....Hmmmmm
  12. Haven't seen him either. However, I have seen a white Z1000 with some wicked aftermarket pipes and a brand new Orange/Red (not totally for sure since I am partially color blind) FZ-09 at the A&M Farm on St Rte 251 this past Sunday. If anyone knows these guys, please let me know. I wanted to stick around to meet them but my CBR1000RR (Blue & Yellow) was calling my name for a nice ride through the countryside that day.
  13. OK. Thanks for the info. Anyone planning to go this Thursday?
  14. Hi, I was wondering if anyone goes to the bike nights at the Beavercreek QSL. I have heard it is a great turn out and was thinking of heading up there, but it is like an hour or so for me. So, I would have to really want to go especially since it is during the work week and all for me. I think it is Thursdays. Are they still going on or has that season come and gone this year? Just was wondering. Ride Hard, but Safe. OhioBob
  15. I have a PP 2CT 180/55 that I just replaced with Q3's. It has plenty of side tread left, but I would be careful on wet surfaces with the middle tread. You are more than welcome to it for FREE. If you swing by to pick it up no need to worry about shipping. Not sure where you live, but if you want me to ship it then you will need to pay for the shipping, nothing more.
  16. John, That is awesome. Thanks for sharing the pic. I have always love the Honda CB750 style bikes. However, I have always wanted to find/restore a 69' Kawasaki Mach III 500. My dad had one brand new and use to drag race it on the streets of Detroit, then a buddy of took it out for a street (drag) race and totaled it. My dad talks fondly of that early days crotch rocket of a bike. I think it would be neat to surprise him with one someday, of course, the days are getting shorter. Hopefully someday I can do that for him. I would love to see the sparkle in his eyes as he drifts back to those good ol' days. Talk to all you later. I am heading out to the Vintage Days now. Maybe I will see some of you up there. Wish I had a OhioRiders shirt so you could easily recognize me. Oh, well. OhioBob
  17. Can't, off to AMA Vintage Days for today (Saturday). Maybe a near future weekend (preferably Saturdays).
  18. Mary, Thanks for the info. Yeah, I have heard that the Q3's are all about grip and performance, as it is a street/track tire. So, longevity is not it's strong suit. So, I know that going into it. However, I might be lucky to get about 1,000 miles in a season, but that could change over time. I would rather have grip/performance over longevity unless I am going cross country, which I am not at the moment. Thanks again.
  19. Bubba, Thanks, but I can't do it Thursday. Possibly tomorrow or Friday, but not Thursday. Rats.
  20. Glad to hear. I just picked up a set of Dunlop Q3's (120 & 190/55) at RockyMountainATVMC.com and they should be here today. Woohoo!!! So, just curious. Why did you sell them? What didn't you like about them? Just wondering. BTW, love your FZ1 pic. I have always been drawn to them, but I am picky and want the Euro version with the naked front headlight (without the fairing). However, the fairing does serve a nice purpose, but it just doesn't give it the proper look (street fighter / café racer) to it.
  21. This is going to be a hard sell at the moment. Since RockyMountainATVMC has the same set for $216.98 + Free Shipping to your door, as well as, a $40 Dunlop MIR. Or better yet the front & rear (190/55ZR-17) for $233.98 + Free shipping to your door, along with the $40 Dunlop MIR. In fact, I am needing a new set for my CBR, which currently is running those sizes, but Michelin PP 2CT. However, yours wouldn't come with a $40 MIR either nor delivered to my door. Just saying. 22. How the heck does one add a link to the map I created in yahoo on this forum? It is extremely frustrating at the moment, trying to figure this out, which should be pretty simple, if you ask me.
  23. I am planning to head south (Southern Ohio) and possibly into Northern KY along the Ohio River and maybe back across on a ferry. I briefly made a route on yahoo maps, but not sure if I will do it all. However, it is some of the best roads in my area, plenty of twisties, elevation changes, perfect scenery, etc. Wasn't sure if anyone was heading my way, we could meet up and ride some. I will be riding my VTX, as my CBR needs new tread before I can blast down the road on it again. Just saying. OhioBob
  24. Yep, I am going up on the Saturday. Talked a buddy into joining me. It will be my first time at Vintage Days. I can't wait. I use to watch the Café Racer TV show all the time and saw an episode they attended the Vintage Days. I can't wait. I hope the weather is great and I can ride up. If not I might take a trailer to see what goodies I can get...LOL
