  1. Cool to see SpeedVideo getting some ink on Jalopnik http://blackflag.jalopnik.com/theres-a-ton-of-racing-on-this-weekend-that-you-dont-ev-1793244148
  2. We are streaming TX2K on http://www.speedvideo.com this weekend for those who can't make the event.
  3. We have a three race weekend going on SpeedVideo starting Friday. Something for every type of drag racing fan :fuckyeah: NMCA Muscle Car Mayhem http://www.speedvideo.com/live-event/nmca-muscle-car-mayhem-2017/ PDRA Souther Extreme Nationals http://www.speedvideo.com/live-event/pdra-southern-extreme-nationals-2017/ Bounty Hunters No Prep http://www.speedvideo.com/live-event/bounty-hunters-no-prep-2017/
  4. A few years ago at a meet and greet my wife and I did shots with Clay and his brother. Good times.
  5. Nope, just came down hard, car got upset, went into the marbles and it was time to play Tilt-a-Whirl
  6. Luck and skill come into play here. Very next pass the car started to go up and he stayed in it like a boss and drove through the wheelstand :fuckyeah:
  7. Yeah, I think he has a shot to make it for sure. I'm on the shelf for races until the Outlaw Street Car Reunion in a couple of weeks. I won't have a day off until the second week of April at the earliest. I was in Chicago last weekend for a trade show and now have to support all our broadcasts remotely, or on-site until after the NMRA NMCA All Star race in April.
  8. We will be kicking off the bulk of our broadcasting this weekend with the NMRA Spring Break Shootout. http://www.speedvideo.com/live-event/nmra-spring-break-shootout-2017/ In the month of march we will be showing 8 different events and 35 total for the year.
  9. He said he had no idea how those would be handled going forward, they hadn't got that far yet.
  10. Well, the new CEO has been in town since Friday getting a lay of the land. Realistically we could have 3 of the top tracks in the country here in Ohio VERY soon.
  11. Talked with someone from the Topeka track today and you can expect some BIG changes at trails. These guys are not playing around and they are planning to bring the track to its former glory. Business as usual is not how they plan on doing things, I will leave it at that...
  12. Well, the reaction on the National Trails Facebook page should be enough to tell them what needs to be improved. The current staff is pretty much being put on 100% blast across the internet
  13. The track surface is going to be addressed due to safety concerns from racers. The general upkeep of the facility is on the list too. As for event content, there hasn't been any word on that, but I do know it won't include bringing the NHRA big show cars back. That track is way to short to even run them at 1,000 feet. I think you'll be seeing some minor tweaks this year, and then some major ones next year. I also expect a full housecleaning of staff at some point, but that's not confirmed yet.
  14. I might know a thing or three Sort of like how the EPA is still trying to kill off the aftermarket, but again, what do I know?
  15. Bracket racing keeps the lights on, having good special events helps fill the stands. The fact it's a group that already owns a track that's doing the sniffing around makes me really think it might happen. If I get some solid info I'll pass it along for sure. There are SO MANY good tracks in Ohio we are spoiled. It's important to support the tracks as much as possible, we are very lucky. The fact we have a rental lined up at Dragway 42 is amazing
  16. No, there are hardly any new tracks being built these days. Maybe old tracks being brought back from the dead, but not many new ones being built. What happened at 42 was the exception, not the rule. It will be run by a company that wants to make money racing and will do want needs to be done to bring racers back. You will never see a second NHRA event in Ohio, the Bader family won't allow it. Did nobody read my post? It's not being purchased by a land developer, it's being purchased by a company that already owns a track... The trend now seems to be these "ownership groups" buying multiple tracks in different states, rather than building new tracks. Its their way of getting into the game without spending the HUGE money required to build a track.
  17. It could be a good thing for sure.
  18. Heard a rumor that trails is about to be sold to the people who own the Heartland Park track in Topeka Kansas...
  19. Nothing covert going on here, just a bunch of killer twin-turbo monsters.
  20. Leash makes good stuff so does AMS
  21. I've had good luck shooting off a tripod and setting the timer when I've had to shoot at a low ISO and high F-stop for print work. I've also used speedlights and alien bees with good results as well.
  22. Let's be real here, Trump won't make it all 4 years. If he lasts more than a year I'll be shocked.
  23. I'll give you my "professional opinion" Nissan: I like the shot for what you're trying to do. If I was doing the shoot for a magazine this would be one of the shots I took and would use. Great use of the background and putting the car where it needs to be. Could you have gone a bit tighter, totally could have but it did not wreck the picture one bit. Recommendation: When I do shots like this I will have almost exactly like this, then take a few others with the car tighter in the frame so I wouldn't' have to crop it. It's always nice to have those extra shots. VW shot: Again not a bad picture at all for what you're trying to do. Good use of the background and framing. What I don't like is the curb, it's just a little distracting and that's the only real negative thing I have to say. Recommendation: Always be wary of the background and what's in the shot. I still struggle with this at times and have jacked up shots because of this. Overall, based on the shots I see you post online I would hire you for my magazine to do a photo shoot if I needed someone. Your work shows good composure and an understanding of how to make the car "talk". Now, if you really want to learn to be a car photo gangster work on those interior, under the hood, and abstract detail shots. Those are some of the toughest to get but will take a shoot to the next level.
  24. No, the only heads-up class that is "lower" than this in the NA world would be the NA 10.5 class in the NMCA. Other than that, it's go bracket race in Comp Eliminator, or go get your face smashed in X275 or Ultra Street trying to run all motor.
