  1. If you just connect online to get the latest dashboard update you will be able to use flash drives as a substitute (as long as they are over 1 gig I believe).
  2. Interested in the computer case/power supply/etc. and possibly even the tablet. I will have to check on the second though, my friend has been looking for one. -edit- I think the tablet is already called for, and its too far of the drive for just the case. Free up
  3. To break the bead: 1 - 45 or less degree cut 2x4 (somewhere around 6 inches long) 1 - 5ft long 2x4 1 - car or truck Put the angled 2x4 on the bead and use the longer one with the car as a lever and just pop it. Skip to 3:30 on the following vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8XArpY_hSdk&feature=fvw It took like an hour for me to do. The hard part is putting the new tire on, the secret is windex as a lube. Use the next two vids once you get the bead broken (the second hardest part). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Pfp2Z9k0n0&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AerHAYs435s&feature=related
  4. Yeah, he is lucky he wasn't trying to flag down strangers in pickups n such for a pair of jumper cables or anything crazy like that. oldschoolsdime92: I didn't know anybody got caught in the bad stuff. Hope it lasted only a short time and you could get home safe. Bikes looked sexy as hell there, keep it up guys.
  5. I don't know how I missed this the first time around, this still available? I'm interested if a spot is still open
  6. It was more meant as an exaggeration. I spent a little over a third of that on mine. I knew it would need a few repairs but as soon as one thing is repaired it seems that on the next ride something else is wrong, the exception was here where it took 2 rides. I made a mistake with the bike that will definitely not happen again, and hopefully by next season another bike will be in its place.
  7. I am hearing a lot of shit comming down on my head because of my bike. I took it out two days before with nothing wrong and thought that would stay true, apparently it didn't. Everything was fine until we got into Coshocton (literally, I saw the "Welcome to:" sign) and then a fake fuel problem arose which led to the overheating later. I told everyone who stopped or mentioned anything, to just move and and not bother slowing down or waiting for my bike. I think the requirement is good unless someone explicitly states to circumvent it because they are slowing anything up. I do take offense. It was a sound bike when it arrived, it was only till we got pretty far out that anything started to happen. A broken fairing (read: cosmetic in this case) hardly justifies not being to ride, especially if it has been that way for hundreds of miles. I guess bike problems never happen to you without prior notice. Sorry I do not have $10k to spend on a bike, but I have been fixing this one up for a couple months now and thought a 2hr beat down ride just 2 days before had proved itself, obviously I was mistaken. I apologize to those I slowed down and the problems I caused, I just wanted to learn some new things and make some new friends. Thank you to those who did bother teaching me a few things and who spent their time leading me back to the group. I had fun even with the bike problems and I hope everyone else did. If it makes anyone feel better I will not show up on another group ride until I get a new bike, if not you can be sure I will triple check the mechanics of my bike prior to the ride. -edit- You don't sound like a dick at all. Someone at the meeting spot in Coshocton even mentioned that I had to be prepared to push my bike by myself back to 82 if there was another problem and I continued, which I was fully prepared to do.
  8. Just voted twice, phone and pc, about to vote from another. The update on their website says the votes from the last 2 days haven't counted and you are back down to 5% in 5th place. Everyone needs to vote again! -edit- Btw, the top chick apparently has 1576 votes right now. If that is not cheating I don't know what is, you need to make a really obvious script to send votes every second and get her disqualified (if they get caught cheating now its disqualification they say).
  9. Ha ha, I saw this on hackaday earlier. Congrats to Dan on making the front page a few days ago, and nice job creating it. Looks beautiful
  10. Like I said before, it is not always as simple as just welding something back together. There is now a crack there, on pretty solid metal. That could easily have stressed the rest of the case and could cause cracks other places. I would prefer to not give advice with just seeing those pictures. The damage might also not be as simple as you think, there could be cracks other places as it does not look like you have even taken the fairings off yet. Keep taking pictures so we can figure out what is going on with the shifter and those hoses.
  11. ...not the type of notary who will notarize someone else's signature after the fact. The point is people do not want to give out info when it sounds shady and a the story hasn't even been told. If he had a legit need for a notary, that is where he can find one, otherwise he won't get help until we know that we are not helping someone steal a bike.
  12. Just post some good pictures of the damage first, then we will see what you need to do.
  13. I am assuming this was your first bike since you have not answered the question. The first thing you should do when you get a bike is get some gear; leathers will protect you well and you probably would not have had any roadrash at low speed. The second thing you need to do for any bike is find a service manual. You said you couldn't find one, well lmgtfy, it is the first result. I even downloaded it and checked it, it works for the 2007 gsxr 750. As others have said, the thing leaking antifreeze is the waterpump, and the black hose is going to the radiator. Intercooler is for turbo or supercharged engines. From what I can tell, you are saying that the shifter broke off the frame, but I do not understand where the leak is coming from. I will need a better picture of the hoses and a better one of the other damage personally. Post better pictures for us to see where the damage is and read through the service manual. Do not just go around welding anything that looks off, let us discuss it first and we can see what is wrong.
  14. You could always do it yourself if you have a couple hours. I did mine with nothing more than a pair of crowbars, some cardboard and windex for lubrication. I didn't even balance, look up DynaBeads. They balance and you ride so no need for wheel weights. Granted I do not ride all that spirited, but I have never heard anything bad about them.
  15. Can you re-badge my 999 as well? All my liter bike friends make fun of my cus my penis is too small and I only have 998/999 cc under said junk. Seriously though, that is just useless. I can see taking the decals off, and maybe putting on new stock ones if the originals got messed in a crash or slide, but to put on fake decals that don't match the bike is just retarded. You are not cooler because you have a 1000cc sticker on your bike...its a fact and if I see that person I will make fun of them for lying and for not having a real liter bike just because of that.
  16. Not much info and no pic, but I thought I would give ya a heads up: http://cleveland.craigslist.org/mcy/1757621886.html
  17. My '94 zx6e. Just got her all built up, hopefully I will get it titled and insured by the end of the month and she'll be on the road.
