  1. I am pretty sure you have that backwards, 4chan looks like preschool with unruly kids who do not have a concept of consequences for actions and it makes ohioriders look refined and well behaved
  2. I have a manual, if you can shift and have both hands on the wheel then good job. Even when I can have both hands on the wheel I usually don't anymore (its not always of course), so that point is moot. I CAN have both hands on the wheel while talking to a passenger, but I don't. I might agree with the 33% (I also text fast though), I have never really thought about it that way. The way I think about it is: how many billboards do you read. It takes me the same amount of time for me, and my phone is usually next to the wheel/near the gauges briefly so I can at least see if something starts to go wrong instead of off to the side reading why I should buy new tires or not shake a baby or whatever. I highly doubt that everyone drives with hands at 10 and 2 (or is it 3-9 nowadays or something) and never looks at their passenger. I stand by my passanger simile, at the very least just for me, those I do drive with usually suck at it and fall into the problem category and don't pay attention so I offer to text for them. I do not agree with holding the phone to your face though, because then you cannot see part of the road/all your mirrors, not because both hands are not on the wheel.
  3. Congrats man . That's a ton of miles for an '04, good job. I am with the others, I would definitely like to know some maintenance and what you have replaced. I know there is someone on 600rr.net that has I believe a f4i that is getting up there in miles (200K as well, it is probably you know that I think about it) and they haven't even replaced the clutch! If that is you, let us know.
  4. You have enough computers, just too many guys. I have only ever done one at a time (one mac and one pc), so unless you want to do them all one at a time then I really can't help. If you do, here it is: If its OS X there should be 3 inputs, the workgroup, name, and password. You need to provide whatever the name of the windows user and password along with the workgorup name. -edit- ^^ Hmm, much fancier than my description, use that.
  5. Exactly, so how do you know it was her son? Granted it wasn't the smartest thing to do on the mother's part, its still sad to see a newborn not even have a chance.
  6. Puppy chow. Mmmm, just finishing up the bag now.
  7. Its like a Porsche ground up re-design! And seriously, this isn't an unveiling, its just a sketch. This is just like the crappy ad campaign sketch for the zx-10r. These don't induce hype, it just makes people pissed that they can't see the real thing.
  8. I still don't understand how people are such bad drivers as soon as the phone comes into play. Plenty of people have a passenger and talk to them, but as soon as they got on a phone then loose all focus and suck at driving. Same thing with texting, IMO is you can be caught for this ban, you are doing it wrong. I make it so that both are like a normal convo with a passenger, I am paying attention to the road and not staring at the phone or the person. I also put the phone on speaker, so its even more like its just another passenger.
  9. ^^ They were keeping $1200 (assuming) on them and weren't paying attention to it? If I carry anymore than $150 I am constantly checking on it! That sucks though, I haven't had many bad experiences yet so I tend to be a little more lenient, that all might change if I have as many shitty experiences as you guys seem to have had haha
  10. The plaque isn't a bad idea, any trophy shop could do that for like $20 depending on what you put on it. I used do a turkey bowl with some friends every year and some bought a trophy and engraved the bottom for something like $10 a while back.
  11. Just read the short "bill" here. All you have to do, if you fall into that extremely small sector of people (in 2+ years), is to correct it before you come to court. If you have a slip-on you have like 1 bolt to undo twice, once to put the stock back on, and once to put the pipe you want back on, to comply and not be fined. Its a pretty poorly written law I feel, not going to do that much. Also, where is this sticker supposed to be? "Its on the inside officer, I swear, just look."
  12. I would still tell the first guy to either get it now or not, at least give him a chance, if he couldn't make it for whatever reason then yes to the second guy. Only if they seemed legitimately interested though. Just different ways of doing business I guess. I have been interested and ready to pay up on quite a few different things, but one thing or another has prevented me from doing so immediately and I have gotten screwed out, If I would have known I was going to lose out, then I would have made time but I was never informed until I was ready to come out, sucky way to find out.
  13. Can't go now, I was hoping but now I got a ton of work to do this weekend. I want to see lots of pics!
  14. That's still not cool, he still should have said something about there being a ready seller behind you and you can either pull the trigger or pass. First come first serve if you aren't just a tire kicker, but oh well, nothing you can do about it now. Good luck finding another, and there will be another don't worry, plenty of people need to make some money especially in the economy now.
  15. There were others looking so I might as well say, there is a van around university heights selling or $1500. If anyone is interested I can find specs, someone else was driving in the parking lot and all I saw was a blue early '90 late '80s van and $1500 written on the rear window, don't know anything else about it.
  16. Ha ha, it defiantly does look like that. Hmmm...ghetto-shopped shark is happy:
  17. Either the mattress or couch cushions, always. But yes, definitely the last place you look, unless you truly have lost your sanity.
  18. ^^ Not a bad read, might be interesting to find another windshield that might help. Otherwise I have and idea that might seem crazy to you, but if I had the problem I would use the smoke machine I have and a fan and try to see where the most turbulence is. A good place would be the garage on a calm day. Although I have never tried it (or heard of anyone trying it) it would be at the very least interesting to see. Once the problem is diagnosed I am sure there is a fix, it just might be harder to get at the root of the problem by just guesstimating what is wrong. Again, just a crazy idea, hope you fix it regardless of the path.
  19. Ahh, that sucks to hear. Were you too late contacting him or was it sold while you were talking to him about it?
  20. I wholeheartedly agree with this. Just the fact that the owner can give you specific information quickly about maintenance or problems is a good sign. Ask as many questions as you need to, don't hesitate, its your money and you need to be 100% before handing it over. Since this is your first private sale it might be beneficial to have someone go with you that knows some of the things to look for. Also, high-res pics and videos are great so you don't end up wasting time going out, but don't be afraid to back out and drive home empty handed. Its better to have spent the drive time then end up with something turning out disastrous. I am personally going to be heading out 8+ hrs one way (16+ hours total not including any stops) next weekend to look at, and hopefully purchase a bike. I have been in constant contact with the seller (2-3 emails and multiple texts per day) and have a couple of high res pictures, 2 videos and a good idea of his competence level and the maintenance done to the bike. I know what I am getting into, but if something is off when I get there I am not handing over thousands for something I am not perfectly satisfied. I would rather spend $100 in gas with nothing to show then get screwed and spend way more to fix it or be dissatisfied with the purchase. If I do get it, then it will be trailered back with me that day, its too inconvenient to go that distance multiple times, and its only $15 for a uhaul trailer (I heard they are kinda sketchy though and to get the bigger one for like $18, we will see) Get what you want, don't get what is convenient, you will be much happier in the long run. Also, check the VIN and don't hand over cash unless you are getting a bike in return. If you don't check the VIN and there is a problem, you will get a big surprise trying to title it. Sorry, I don't trust people enough to give a "deposit" on something (or installments if it is the other way around). BTW, go Triumph
  21. Rap songs are getting...interesting now a-days. The lyrics, beat, and autotune all sucked big time. -edit- I just thought about the lyrics for a second, he hopes his woman has a butt face..
  22. Complete, engine turns over, for $200...no its too risky. Seriously though, if its complete than you could make your money back easy if you decide you do not want it. Buy it, and talk to Zorro about his.
  23. HA HA, this was absolutely priceless. Nice try with the pic delete this month too NightRider lol. Be honest, this is true now isn't it
  24. Someone bought the biggest bike their wallet could handle. Come on, 140mi and you crash it for a total loss?! Someone has never heard of breaking in an engine..poor duc
