  1. Wife and I spent the morning at New Albany Shooting Range yesterday to break in a couple of new toys. My wife bought her S&W Bodyguard in May, but hadn't had the opportunity to test it out. I have to say that I was really pleasantly surprised. The gun has a long trigger pull with a fairly heavy break at the end. Shot 150 rounds of CCI Blazer aluminum with only one failure to fire. Fortunately, the gun has second strike capabilities so she simply pulled the trigger again with success. Slow, concentrated fire allowed me to keep all six rounds on the 3" Burchwood Casey at the 25' mark consistently. The laser sight was pretty nifty as well. I could take it or leave It, but that's just my opinion. I'd definitely feel comfortable carrying this as a cheap little pocket gun. I also shot my new Beretta M9. Very accurate, no failures whatsoever, and a pleasure to shoot. Not sure that it will ever be my Go-To, but it's a keeper. I still prefer the gen4 G-19 to it, but a solid gun nonetheless. Sorry for the dry post, but I'm really hungover right now.
  2. Rest in Peace, Marco. What a shame! He was one of my favorites to watch and I looked forward to watching him come up in the ranks.

    why is it..

  4. Not really that bad. You are anticipating your recoil and the results are those low shots. Buy some snap caps and load one in the middle of a magazine. You'll be surprised.
  5. Welcome! What kind of MPG do you pull out of the XR?
  6. No pics. Is it a pic that you took off of an email? If so, save it to your desktop and use that one.... or whatever these techies say to do.
  7. My wallet would be there, but........ no hay dinero.

    Uprising U.S.A

Thanks! I'll pick up after I get through the Game of Thrones series.
  9. This is what had to happen under this particular circumstance. It still bothers me to see those dead animals. My hunt/kill comment was simply that I hunt, but can't stomach killing. If my kids eventually take a deer, gut it, hang it, skin it, eat it... .. I'll be a proud father. If my kids catch frogs and slam them down on the driveway for shits and giggles, they may end up gutting it, skinning it, and eating it.
  10. I'm not going to "armchair" this by suggesting there was something else that could have been done, but that makes me sick. Killing and hunting are two very different things.

Not being LEO, my holstering is done once per day.... before I shove the holster down my pants. It is done purposefully and consciously. I really can't imagine a scenario in which I carelessly holster my weapon. Generally, I don't draw and clear a room before entering. Again... not a hater... 1911s are good guns.

My Glock accidentally fires every time I apply about 4.5 lbs of pressure to the trigger. I don't see the 1911 safety as an impediment, but I do prefer CHL guns that don't have one. I find the "flip-down" safety mechanism on the 1911 much easier to use quickly than the "flip-up" mechanism on most DA/SA.... Beretta, PPK, etc... If I could have only one handgun, it wouldn't necessarily have to be a 1911. But any collection is incomplete without at least one. I guess I better go get one now.
  13. Today Show reports "appears to be a suicide".
  14. This will make for some interesting bow-hunts this morning. I know that when I landed at deer camp, I turned off all media (that's when I used to have a place to hunt:nono:).

I've always had a bias against Taurus and their quality. For the money, I'd go with a lower end Springfield. You won't be disappointed with the Colt. I'd buy mine back in a heartbeat.
  16. Very true. My daughter could bedazzle a Bar and Shield on one and charge a couple hundy.
  17. I think that what this couple is doing is horribly wrong and perhaps criminal. But I disagree with the statement that no gay couples should have children. Be a loving parent. Model good behavior. Teach ethics and morals. Do the right thing because it's the right thing to do. I'm already further into this conversation than I want to be.
  18. Also... if he became a she and liked men, that would be weird for the parents. But if he became a she and liked girls, that would be cool, but would it really have made sense?
  19. Can't group all by the irresponsible acts of some.
  20. Since 8 of us have sent you deposits, would you list the ones that you have received? If no screen name, maybe first name? Thanks.
