  3. Salt spreader truck was running through my neighborhood midafternoon on Thurs. I saw that his spreader wasn't spinning in the back, so called the street dept to let 'em know. They said that was the "plan for the day". They wanted to lay down strips in the middle and let the cars spread it out. Said that if they flung it out, it would just end up on the sides of the road with the wind and and all. Made sense, and the roads look great this morning. Oh, and we did have rain.
  4. .You'll soon have protestors on your lawn. They won't know WHAT they're protesting, but they'll be there. For months. B/C they don't have jobs to go to.
  5. $3200 in a heart beat. Tell him to take me to the auctions with him as a "consultant". Anytime. I wish I would've jumped on the white one that was here last summer/ fall.
  6. Tell him that he doesn't know who he's dealing with, and that you'll show up at his house. The $15 isn't any good to you, and neither are the parts. Take a chance and send them back. OR take the $15, then put them on ebay and hope to get $40 for them. But then you're gonna pay about 18% between paypal and ebay fees. Is it something that a body man could clean up for you?
  7. For any of you Redbull junkies who hate the price, try Red Strike from Murphy's (the gas station thats in front of some WalMarts). Tastes the same to me. I only drink the suger version, haven't tried sugar free of any of those drinks.
  8. http://www.texastornadobootcamp.com/ I wanna go. Yes, saw it in the new SportRider.
  9. My parents lived in Texarkana for awhile. Interesting place. Of course, part in TX, part in AR. Thing that stood out was driving down the main drag that separates the states. One state was dry, the other was not, so all the liquor stores are piled on one side of the street.
  10. Ate at the one in Grove City (I think) once. Right off of 71 on the south side of town. I thought the name was for the waitresses (sorry, "servers") there. Big girls. All of 'em. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Food was okay.
  11. Republican, even. I wouldn't have guessed that.
  12. Is he doing that somewhere in Asia????
  13. Anyone have any contact with him other than in here? Pls ask him to check his PM's Thx
  14. It was an ugly house. I don't blame her. I mean, really, at $100m, you're not gonna run out of money. Tear it down, build what you want, and still have $70m in the bank. Its her money, her decision. I don't see a problem. Honestly. FWIW, if I had that money, I'd buy a billion acres in Montana from Ted Turner and put my house right in the middle. And a prison fence all the way around. STFO.
  15. I agree with Cheech! Who ever thought that would happen? >>I'll put 50/1 odds that no one in senior management goes to jail. 3/1 that no one goes to jail at all.<< Just like all the Dem party folks who crashed Fannie and Freddie, then made off with millions of $$$ in "performance bonuses" for doing such a great job.
  16. I'm gonna apply for a vanity plate, and get a copy of it tattoo'ed on my back. Sure, it'll LOOK like a tramp stamp, but it won't be. Cuz it'll be something different. And official. Then, when I have to go get my official government-issued National Identification System barcode tattoo, they can put it right next to this one. See? I'm a thinker... Or, just wait and combine the two:
  17. Cleaning supplies: Diluted vinegar is an excellent cleaner. Many of the cleaners that most of us use (and even most body/ hair care products) have toxic ingredients. Shampoo has some scary stuff in it that absorbs through the skin. Incandescent bulbs: Why? So I can have a bunch of toxic mercury in my house, and if one breaks I'm supposed to call the EPA? When I sell my house, do I have to disclose that its infested with mercury? Hell no. Gimme incandescent. Besides, I hate the light that the twisties give off. My neighbor has twisties in his carriage lights, outside his garage. Leaves them on 24/7. Now THATS earth smart, huh? Probably logging the hours to see if he truly gets a million hours out of each bulb, so that if he doesn't, he can sue the manufacturer. Land line: Tried that many years ago, when unlimited calling plans on cell phones were crazy expensive. First cell bill afterwards was $375. Granted, that was a different time... As much as I hate my landline, the extra cell phones would cost me more than it does. All the other stuff: I pretty much agree. Gave up Starbucks a long time ago, even as an infrequent "luxury".
  18. You got screwed. Shoulda searched harder. Coulda found them for $1.86 that you found on the highway.
  19. I love my SV's. I also think I'd love a Speed Triple. I drooled over the white one that was posted here for awhile. How does the ST compare to the SV1k?
  20. Only 16" across. You've.... got... room.
