The goal/plan is the use nat/gas for the generator. the only other thing i would consider replacing is my furnace but since we JUSt replaced that like 3 years ago, we are stuck with it for a while hanks for all the input everyone.

Have you called pets without parents? Thy may be able to place them.

I don't currently but it is available to me, we plan to install it so I can have a gas stove as well.

Are permits needed? I will have to have a gas line run to my house from vectron too(it's available at my house but wasn't installed when it was built in the 70s) I know we have electricians on here, as well as plumbers.. Maybe work out a side job deal?

Another fuck you AEP from me today. My power went out at 4pm yesterday and they keep moving the estimates out longer and longer, with no reason as to what's going on. We saw crews in the neighborhood last night, but I didn't have a chance to talk to them. I'm pissed off. I just started buying groceries to replace from the last round of outtages, and now will have to do it again

Aaron offered to help me out wih some work around the house for a reasonable rate and some beer He went e and beyond what I asked of him and even continued working on some plumbing work after my power went out, and my house grew hotter and hotter. He was knowledgable, knew what he was doing and was quick with ideas on stuff I want to do I the future. Thanks again Aaron for all the work you did today.

fuck CFLs :grumble grumble: Im so fucking tired of feeling like i am in a dim office building and hav replaced a bunch with stanard bulbs (i know this isnt condusive to my earlier posts, but fuck CFL's serioulsy)

I completely beg to differ. The "always on" stuff has power.. the cutoff basically cuts power completely to the rest of the power strip. There is no standby light on when the switch is off. We noticed a huge drop once we started using these, thats why we then went around and unplugged anything that isnt used daily. (clocks, lamps, spare bedroom tvs) There is DEFINITLY usage, small but its there.

Fuck ya.. 150 1400 sqft surrounded by trees. Thermostat at 73 during the day and night. We also have shutoffs for all electronics in the evening when we go to bed LOVE this thing Belkin Conserve Switch http://i.imgur.com/7C5u7.jpg We have two of these, one for the TV, xbox, surround/blueray, and the always on is setup for the DVR. THe other is setup for my PC and the rest of the powered stuff in our main living area. Since getting them, and unplugging unnecessary items in the house, we have dropped a HUGE amount of our bill every month. We keep the remotes on the wall right by the light switch so at night when igo to bed, we shut off the bottom half of the house.
