  1. I was using a tripod- not a great one- but I was on an overpass
  2. Wunderground App Channel 10s App has good radar as well.
  3. eworks because of the dry grass and the fear of fires However.. I was able to be a bit preemptive on some popup storms tonight and get some of this.. I waited for at least an hour on top a highway overpass taking 1-30second shots hoping to get some lightening. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8150/7505596568_34bac1833a_c.jpg Independence Day Storms by Lucky Lola Studios, on Flickr http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7266/7505596050_1e7d23c667_c.jpg Independence Day Storms by Lucky Lola Studios, on Flickr In Cloud Lightening http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7131/7505595368_ccb06a41df_c.jpg Independence Day Storms by Lucky Lola Studios, on Flickr
  4. Fucking fireworks starting early.. I was about to leave and go see some, and get halfway there and see the damn things already going off!.. I got to see a whopping 10 mins of the show after i found somehwere to pull off and watch them at
  5. Fuck sweet gums. No arguments from me. I have spent the last 10 years cutting them down off our propert. I have one left but it's in a low traffic area. When we moved in we had a total of 21 trees on our little 1/8 acre. It made very happy, we have removed 3 full size trees - all sweet gums. They will all be replaced eventually. I am a typical barefoot woman. Those trees are the bane of my existence.
  6. I love our "spot". Its near home, we have an awesome view of the works.. and it only takes us about 20 mins to get home.
  7. I have so much stuff to edit right now, but more shooting is getting I the way!

    power

We lost our power today. We could here the breaker fighting to keep on but ultimamely it lost the good fight. It's weird because random houses in our neighborhood sti have power.usually when my neighborhood loses power the "inner circle goes out, outer circle stays on... Oh well we were lucky to have it for 2 more days. The used generator we bought off someone here works but vibrates itself so hard it shuts off. When it stays on its fine, but sometimes we hav to start it 4-5 times in 15mins before it stays on. Any suggestions to help the vibration? Also, whenver we lose power, our 3G (AT&T) basically disappears until we get outside our house.. Any suggestions on that?
  9. I like that shingle oak, I may look into that. I'll post back my findings.

  12. Nope; no cottonwoods. They are horrible trash trees. They drop crap that sticks to everything and clogs up our neighbors pool, and losses it's leaves as early as mid August.
  13. So, it seems that a all the ash trees in my neighborhood on the city side have been marked for death because of emerald ash borer. I have 3 Ash trees in my backyard, and we fear they may be a problem. The problem is we love these trees. They make excellent canopy shade over our whole backyard.. Taking out all three of them will ruin what our backyard is for us. As a redhead who loves outside, sitting in the backyard all day without having to worry about getting sunburnt is really important to me. Any suggestions on what to replace them with? I would love to have some beautiful foliage trees, that DONT drop trash (no nuts, no large seed pods) We have 2 sugar maples and while they are nice, i find them boring.... So.. What else is there that makes great shade and is a relatively fast growing trees? (we are locked into this house for at least another 5-10 years) Im looking for something that at maturity is at LEAST 25' wide x 50-60' tall. We are going to have an arborist come out and look at the trees to see if we are safe, but im sure if the city has marked all of them in my neighborhood as being pulled, its for a reason.
  14. Of course it's going to go up this week... It's fourth of July... And since it falls on a Wednesday expect the jump on Monday.

this is how I am but i was panicking because one of our cats who weighs only about 6lbs and is 15years old was no where to be seen. I was watching shit fly down our street, and knew most of what I was seeing was 3-4x what she weighs. Finally found her on the back patio where she goes for protection. After that, I went into "this is cool" mode.

  21. This doesnt even make sense. Why wouldnt they be able to adopt out a dog? Why wouldnt they be able to give it to a shelter? I know plenty of vets that help dogs/cats get new homes. /logicfail. Anyways, congrats on the puppy. get it spayed asap if its not done already.
