  1. Well despite me saying i wasnt going to do anything last night.. I lied and decided to break my back some more. I laid three sheets of the hardibacker, on top of grout, and pulled the trim from the walls. I also laid out for the most part there rest of the sheets to get an idea of where i needed to make cuts. 10 Hardiebacker-3 580 screws- 174 last night= 408 more to go!! 150 tiles.. and a partridge in a pair tree.. http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor14.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor16.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor17.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor18.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor19.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor20.jpg

  5. Todays Progress- I got more done than i had planned. I got all the pressbaord up from the floor from everywhere but the fridge area. I moved the stove as well, which was NO where near as heavy or awkward to move as i expected it to be. And for those who never move their stove to clean under, around it, do yourself a favor and do it.. lord was that gross. I picked up all the hardibacker, screws, thin-set, grout, and set delivery for the tile for saturday. http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor9.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor10.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor11.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor12.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor13.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor15.jpg
  6. progress today so far http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor8.jpg *i realize most dont care about my project, but telling others, keeps me on track, so thanks for reading, or not reading.*
  7. I swear i didnt forget. I will pull it.. i just dont want to deal with it righ tnow. It will be the last thing i do before the backerboard. if its still on the wall, i dont have to worry about storing it somewhere. that area is the only area in the kitchen that has molding I do have a question.. THEre is a decent draft coming in from that wall, and im wondering if when i pull the trim off, if i can do any minor insulation fixes right there while its off. (the outer wall is a brick wall on that side of the house, and i have no clue what type of insualtion (is in the wall currently)
  8. My neighbor just did the actual video coupon and their coupon reads the 11th for expiration.
  9. He lives on te outskirts of Hilliard, it's not like he lives in the middle of nowhere, house on his street have been there for at least the last teno years, he'll they live just down the street from hilliards new high school, lines should be available to them, IMHO.
  10. Twc can't do it where he lives. Or won't, is probably more appropriate.
  11. Update from this evening. I probably could hvae got more done but i am exhausted. All the nails hammered down, floor swept, flooring out at the trash. Tomorrow, hope to get the rest of the vinyl up and maybe most of the press board (yep there was a tag on one of the pieces) http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor6.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor7.jpg
  12. its still fiving 50° here.. we arent getting snow.
  13. Oh that means you can whore out your chickens more!!
  14. I am nto sure its luan either, its almost a pressed board, like thick cardboard. its about a 1/4" thickness. I dotn know if its actually under the cabinets, as i havent got that far. my goal at this mometn is to prep. I can take my time with this, i have two weeks get it done.
  15. Yah, i have a 400 dollar budget. No way in hell can i afford new cabinets. Besides my cabinets are nice (enough) for me.
  16. well it turns out that they didnt nail the luan under the baseboards.. so i was able to rip out a section of it fairly easily with a prybar. Now to figure out what to do around the cabinets. A dremel seems like it would take forever, but I dont know what other tool to use to cut around the cabinets. I have a jigsaw but i dont think thats a good idea.
  17. I am terrible with trim. I hate it. I can do a lot of stuff, but trim and i are not friends.
  18. alll i can say to that is )(#%)(%_)($#*()$#P)*(U#%*()ER()U)($%)(*$#%)(*$#@)(*$#@%(*&%$ #(&* #@*:mad::mad::mad:
  19. Dropped nathan off at the airport this morning slept a little.. then got up and got to work I decided to start on the easier side of the kitchen. See how things look. So the vinyl wasnt glued down it looks like they attempted to do it right, but, thankfully for me, it didnt set properly. So took me maybe 20 mins total to cut the silicon around the baseboard, yank it up and roll it for the trash. So now I am at the luan. Its nailed down (obviously) but its under the baseboards and the cabinets. how the heck do i pull it up? http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor1.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor2.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor3.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor4.jpg http://www.thehaltermans.com/floor5.jpg
