  1. Are you running any malware scanners? PCs get dirty easily and virus scanners don't clean that shit up. CCleaner also helps to clean up .dll's that are not attached to anything as well as odds and end shit. I am currently "cleaning" my aunts pc and with 4 differnt malware cleaners and 2 virus scanners I FINALLY got it clean. Runs like a champ now.
  2. wait.. are you having issues?
  3. This is my secondary virus scanner. ( yep I double up on it and malware scanners)
  4. Super Antispyware and Panda Cloud. Spy bot search and Destroy and CCcleaner for cleaning up the PC. Good List here http://download.cnet.com/windows/security-software/
  5. repainting the dings is really annoying.. If you want white trim, just get white trim and replace it, imho. painting wood trim, never ends well for me, in the long run.
  6. I have Boom Blocks.. its sorta like reverse jenga..
  7. Its also pretty amazing what adding some greens to your diet can do.. (Im not talkign an iceberg lettuce, nutrionless wasteland of a vegetable) brussel sprouts, asparagus, fresh green beans, broccoli.. (and microwaving that shit also kills most of the good nutrients they produce) Alton brown talks Brussel Sprouts. (I love Good Eats!)
  8. I have NO clue what you are referring to. AFAIK there is no bacon factory there, in fact.. the only thing beavercreek knows how to produce is corn and overpriced homes to the military and too many malls for its square milelage.
  9. welcome from a fellow previous Beaver.
  10. Dude.. just order it! Six weeks in a prius may suck.. but you'll get EXACTLy what you want. That grey is beutiful, but chad told me the problem yesterday with finding one.
  11. Ive started doing some random pregnancy shooting, it can be very beautiful if done right.
  12. We have had 6 subarus total. 2 imprezas, 2 outbacks and 2 legacys 3 we currently own and have no intentions of selling anytime soon. Based on what you have said I would suggest an 05+ legacy
  13. Tivo is the same way.. if you are recording on two channels you cant watch anythign else. If you think about it, it make sense. if you are Recording TV, though, shouldnt you have something else to watch while those are recording? I know we are never with out TV, because something is always recorded and waiting for us
  14. I believe that the sensors are the biggest thing that makes the d90 so awesome. has he looked at B and H, Adorama, amazon, or Newegg for pricing yet?
  15. He just posted on COS that it was his car. He just finished paying it off
  16. bear in mind that entry level nikon can not use the AF-S lense
  17. Thats the nice thing about my setup for your parents, they wont NEED to borrow anything. There is a Zoom Lens, a Portrait lens, and an everyday lens, as well as a Flash. Anywhoo.. Im done whoring my shit out.. If you are shopping for them, then shop for them and THIER needs, IMHO. What does your mom want out of camera? You obviously want your glass to work on thier camera, so you need to get them somethign that uses the AF-S motors (i assume thats what you have) Do they really want a big DSLR? Or would they want something a bit more portable like a Panasonic Lumix G1, where they wont have to worry about lens and what not.. (this camera has some REALLY great reviews on all teh photography webites i read, as well as the magazines and was rated as the #1 non full DSLR camera last year) Its the P&S that photographers use, when they dont have their gear with them.. (yah like that ever happens)
  18. I think you should get them a VERY nice Canon Setup Personally, i think that Canon has a MUCH easier learning curve than the Nikon, but thats just me.
  19. Going on Ebay Friday, unless sold
  20. If you have netflix, add Everest to your stream. The series is quite amazing
  21. i'd like to find a boyscout troop thats selling, so that its a donation as well as me getting a tree.. anything on the west side?
  22. Tell her to aim for the D7000 that just came out.. that thing is sexy or maybe the d90 if she cant afford the d7000
  23. I really think that getting into something like these would be helpful. They are building someting with your hands, and will keep your brain from extreme boredom. http://www.ehobbies.com/models.html Could be fun just to make and put in the Garage or at your desk at home. or some of those really cool Kinect kits.. http://site.ehobbies.com/googleimages/rmx858883.jpg What better way to see how an internal combustion engine works than to be able to see all of the parts move! As you turn the crank, each of the parts move, just like the real thing. The Visible V8 Engine features moving pistons and connecting rods. A hand crank operates the pistons, camshaft rocker arms and valves. The kit includes a rubber fan belt and vinyl ignition wires. Also included is a display stand and screwdriver for construction. A superb educational tool on the inner workings and construction of a V-8 engine! You have kids, you could do fun science projects with them.. (growing crystal candy, making bean plants in plastic cups with them.. ) Playign board games with them. Ask THEM for ideas!?? Kids are great at makign up games on the fly. Read books with your kids.. (they will love the interaction with you) or if you are REALLY in touch with your manliness, you could take up crost stich, or knitting.. Learn a language on Livemocha.com (i love this site) Depression is a very common issue with being bed-ridden. You gotta find a way to get past that with projects.
