  1. gatling gun was awesome, result = ffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu**
  2. As has been mentioned above, I think .22LR is going to provide you with the best opportunity for learning to shoot your new rifle. If you're only going to be making it to the range a few times a month you'll probably want to be shooting a lot on those days, and when you can get a bulk pack of 500 rounds of .22LR for $15, you're going to be able to get a lot of practice in. There are plenty of combo .22s rifles with a scope mounted available as well in a similar price range. Thousands of camps and gun clubs across the country use .22LR as a good intro to riflery, and for good reason. Also if you're still working for osu, there's a rifle club that meets in the basement of the ROTC building every week that you could come join and get to shoot .22LR in a nice indoor range.
  3. .22 is wayyyy cheaper to shoot if you just want to plink around at targets and whatnot. What sort of hunting are you considering getting into, that will help people on here suggest caliber. I have a Savage in .223 and I love it, very accurate and has done everything I've asked of it.
  4. This sounds awesome, depending on my testing schedule with school I may make this my first OR group ride. as the date approaches I'll see if any other Columbus folk want to ride out to a meeting place.
  5. +1, in past seasons when people who were supposed to be proficient at a specific weapon type and didn't hold their own, they volunteered themselves first. I like that they show the statistics of everyone's performance on the challenges this season, so now we can immediately call B.S. Mike def. had the next to worst hit percentage, yet bitched about Drew not hitting stuff when Drew was the second best performer. Anyone think they should show the contestants the actual hit counts?

  7. Thanks, you really are the friendliest ghost
  8. good looking work. On an unrelated note, everytime I read your sig "we're currently between secretaries..", I want to give you a high five
  9. I just wanted to give a big thank your to all of you who took the time out of your day today and/or will tomorrow to provide vehicle support to Pelotonia. I didn't meet a single cyclist with anything bad to say about the help provided, and it really was great to see so many motos out there doing anything to help. Got to meet Das Borgen from OR, thanks again for the help, hope your clutch hand recovers from all the constant stop-and-go!
  10. If I see any of the moto escorts at rest stops or the finish i'll try to remember to come up and introduce myself and thank you for volunteering. Bump for any other riders?
  11. I know I've seen random posts here and there from people, but who all is biking in Pelotonia this year? This will be my first year in it, and I am riding the 102 mile route. It would be good to hear from others riding or others that have done it in the past, to get some feedback on any possible hints/tough spots. I've already put in tons of training, but any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, a big thanks to all of the people on OR that will be riding motorcycle escort for the event! Hopefully I won't be in need of help, but it really is great that some of you are volunteering your time to watch out for the cyclists.
  12. edit: ^ beat me to it.. not sure if this is what you're looking for or not: http://blackdogmachinellc.net/drum-ar15-22-50rd.aspx
  13. I have a friend who fixes them for around $40 I think. I can give you his email if you want, he's out on the east side.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery for your friend.
  16. If you do happen to be interested in a cheaper reliable O/U for clays, check out the mossberg silver or onyx reserve series. I bought a silver reserve 12 gauge O/U a couple years ago and have put a few thousand rounds through it with no problems at all. http://www.mossberg.com/images/Mossberg_Guns/930/New/75418.jpg That being said, growing up I used my dad's 870 with the swappable barrels for years with no problems, and you can have both a long barrel for clays and a short one for home. Tried buying myself a newer 870 home defense and had nothing but trouble from it, ended up getting a full refund after 2 trips back to remington. If you want an 870, buy an older used one.

  18. That's awesome, my girlfirend's brother does it and we are going in couple weeks to see him at the Hartford fair. He and his friends all spend their free time working on getting the trucks ready. He's jokingly offered to let me run one of their trucks, but maybe one of these days it'll actually happen
  19. EDIT: shadyone beat me to it... I always assumed they used foam pits like this one, but I don't know for sure
  20. There are usually plenty of grand cherokees at county fair rough truck competitions, and they do pretty well. But you're also usually not planning on taking those on the road ever again bump for good deal

  22. When you share the mobile link (m.youtube.com/whatever), only people on mobile devices can directly view the video you are sharing, hence the confusion. For desktop users we just get a weird page with 4 or more videos that are unrelated. Try posting the standard link from now on, that way anyone can watch it. Here's the video he was sharing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDZ2IFq8YYo
  23. This. To a point, trying to tell a seller that they are asking too much just belittles that person by assuming they are incapable of looking at the same data you have and coming to your obviously "better" opinion. GLWS
