  1. Yeah, it's an '06 I bought in spring of 2009. Lucky enough to find it at a good deal with only ~2000 miles. Previous owner had too many bikes and needed to get rid of one. Is yours an 06 too?

    DSC 0503

It's one the previous owner welded up, I don't much care for it, it's a little wrong on the positioning so if I go over railroad tracks too quickly the rear tire can swing up far enough to bump the plate and bend it over

    slow idle

I've always wondered if this was the goal that some of the (more ridiculous) Harley folks are working towards...
  4. Just saw this today http://www.bmw-motorrad.com/6cylinder I know I'm a little behind, and forgive me if this is a repost... What are people's thoughts on the use of a transverse mounted inline 6? It seems like more of a "look what we tried" than a reasonable improvement to me, but I'm sure there are some who would argue the extra torque vs. the k1300gt is welcome(probably people with more money than me). I've been lucky enough to check out a friend's old cbx1000 six cylinder and it's just interesting to see that in 30-odd years a company is just now finally returning to the idea.

  12. This is definitely the first thing that came to mind...
  13. welcome from one newb to another!
  14. Is there a short-ish version of the story behind this? Apologies if your disgust is already captured in a thread around here, but I'd definitely be interested in hearing some good info. The bikes are far too expensive to be on my short list for the forseeable future, something more like a used wr250r is closer to that, but I was keeping the 800gs and bikes like it in the longer term vision. Any good info is appreciated.
  15. pretty badass! I've been drooling over the 800gs's since I saw them a couple years ago released at the motorcycle show!
  16. holy crap, I love this forum already... I went to high school at westland and watched DTM being built, congrats on making it 10 years, here's to another 10+!
  17. I think your wr could be way more fun than this guy is having, but he sure looks like he's having a great time... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJJn3m9WWZA&feature=related
  18. Welcome from one newb to another, I personally stop riding at around 35-40F as well because as mentioned above, you don't even see the ice coming sometimes and it's already too late to do anything. You could probably get some studded tires for rims from the wr250r, but why go through all the trouble? on an unrelated thought, now I really want to see someone riding with knobbies in snow with skis on and their feet down, sortof like outriggers
  19. I thought of that later upon looking at the thread, but now I'm too lazy to bother re-registering. Oh well. Yamaha ftw regardless
  20. Excellent questions! I don't really line up with either party in politics, I just vote for the things I believe in, and whomever happens to be fighting for those at the time gets my backing. I enjoy target shooting and have mossberg shotgun for trap, a couple rifles for longer distance, and a sig pistol to keep trouble out of the house. Are there a lot of shooters around on the forum or just a small but friendly population? I'm always up for meeting new folks and trying to find better ranges to go to, right now I'm used to the public ones operated by the DNR. As far as number 3 goes, I have a great little lady that enjoys shooting as well, so that's always a plus! Any whiskey fanatics on here? American/Irish/Scotch/who cares they're all delicious?
