  1. check this forum post out... maybe it would help?: http://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.php?t=138034 sounds like the start button itself could be at fault here...
  2. <OFF TOPIC> This is probably my biggest issue with many of the "religion" based cases that make it into the legal system... I can understand that a business entity can be formed around, and ran based on, the principles that are laid out within a set of religious beliefs, but the business itself is only "Christian" on the basis that the owners or founders are...</OFF TOPIC> This... And This.... And This... All the above quotes should equal /END THREAD... but then again... What a minute... stop the presses.... you said what... we should what...READ? Oh my... <Insert random picture of random sport biker in flipflops, shorts and no helmet> = Best birth control and abortion package available!
  3. Just_some_dude: I get where your going... but the problem is that as of now, option 1, number 4, employer says no... is no longer an option. The ACA mandated that employers provide coverage for birth control. That is why this Hobby Lobby case garnered so much attention...
  4. If I understand correctly, the affordable care act made a blanket requirement of coverage for all 20 birth control drugs, and at argument were 4 of them. Hobby Lobby was not asking to be exempted from providing coverage for all birth control...they actually already cover 16 of the 20 FDA approved birth control medicines. Hobby Lobby was seeking exemption from the 4 supposed abortifacient drugs, under the idea that their "Christian principles" stand against abortion. The difference is that they are not asking to not have to provide all medical coverage, or even all birth control coverage. The Supreme Court seems to have based their ruling on the RFRA (religious freedoms restoration act) - in my opinion, that act was to protect the individual's right to religious freedom, not a corporate entities right to show me how I should believe, etc. What is more troubling to me in this is what I feel was an improper application of a individual assignment or protection of rights to a corporate structure... my right, as an individual, to have religious freedom, now applied to a corporation, could seem to mean the refusal of service, based of skin color, hair color or length, etc. So my religion could say that men can't have long hair, therefore, a corporate entity that espouses to hold to the same belief system could now refuse service to a long haired male? I am honestly not sure how I feel on this... Will be interesting to watch this thread... I wonder what derailment it will become?
  5. what about the throw distance and the road ahead? does it seem clearer and more detailed? I am looking to gain some better night driving "vision" and curious on these....
  6. How would a failed lower result in an explosion? All the major pressure bearing parts are contained within the upper, aren't they? Maybe a ftf due to poor trigger group installation or something...but explosion? If my ar were to explode... I think I would be looking at what round I was shooting, and the breach/chamber before I looked at the lower...
  7. UPDATE: I didn't end up making it to Kentucky this past weekend - other plans came up. that's the bad news... The Good news: I don't have any plans this coming weekend, and assuming the weather holds, I think I am going to make a trip and ride some of the mentioned roads... I will definitely plan on hitting 227, and probably 22 as well.
  8. In gear, most of the time... driveway is a hill, work parking is a slight slant... figure it keeps the bike from rolling... the rest of the time, it's become a habit. I start the bike both ways, but more often off the bike... If I am afforded the ability to let the bike warm up without annoying the neighbors, I shift to nuetral, start her up, and put my gear on while shes warming up... If the bikes is already warm... I hop on, clutch in, and roll
  9. When I was contracting, and had to work industrial IT, I used shoes for crews. Depending on how many "safety features" you need, they have a decent assortment of industrial/factory shoe wear. http://www.shoesforcrews.com/sfc3/index.cfm?changeWebsite=US_en&route=c_store.Industrial_Factory
  10. So, I might be headed down to Louisville for a RC airplane event this weekend (fundraiser for kids organization), and thought I might turn it into a MC ride... I am not participating, just going to support/spectate, so no worries on luggage space. Any suggestions on "must ride" roads along the general SouthWest path between Delaware OH and Louisville KY? If I use google maps, and tell it to avoid highways and tolls, I come with about 230 miles one direction. Event starts 11am saturday, and ends Sunday at 5pm... So I am figuring on somewhere in the neighborhood of 4-5 hours, one direction.
  11. Ok, so I know nothing of the machinist world, but 2 of my "bonehead coworker" stories: First: At a previous employer: Background: Our email was hosted offsite, by a larger partner organization. Any internet circuit maintenance that involved an outage would interrupt email access. My replacement, shortly after I left (I stayed on part time to help transition the role), sent a notice of internet circuit outage, via email, stating that he would notify users when the work was complete via email... the very same email that he would be disabling access to. "what do you mean you didn't know it was working again, I sent you an email that the email system was working again" Second: Same previous employer, same department: Coworker: "what does the big red button that says 'emergency power off' do over in the data center?" Me: "Why do you ask? No, wait, let me guess... considering the fact that no one has any application or internet access at the moment, you already know what it does!" Coworker: "Well, not exactly... I heard the UPS beeping after I pushed it, and thought I should come ask you... so I didn't stick around to see what it did"
  12. you'll need to find a dam restaurant for that
  13. First - What is your goal: the certification and door opening for jobs, or the book learning? Second - how much self study initiative do you have? - You can do a lot of the cert prep work much cheaper on your own, if you have the initiative... the only way its ever been cheaper for me to take a course like this is when the local tech college offers a steeply discounted student rate for the actual Cert test at the end of the class... although I am not sure how much cheaper it really was, after you add the class cost in with the book cost, and then the exam cost at the end... I personally did not have a good experience with LearnSmart Systems. I had signed up for a cisco deal they were offering, it was basically a "try one course, and if you like it, get more" deal. Had to give CC information, and basically buy the whole course work, in order to "try" it, then cancel within 30 days and one course, if I didn't like it... Well... I didn't like it... I spent over 2 months trying to cancel... had to get the credit card provider involved. Finally got it cleared up. The course work itself wasn't much more than what I could get out of a Cisco book itself, and was basically some guy reading from the book anyways. I would only be able to assume that it's the same way with PMP/CAPM stuff on there... I ended up taking the self study route, came out cheaper in the end...

    Bike Week

I know I am a little late on this topic.. but I can re-confirm, considering I have been in the Sandusky Ohio area during bike week (my anniversary is the 5th, so no... I did not go because of bike week) Ohio Bike week is a bunch of harley's, harley wanna-be's, a bunch of alcohol, and a bunch of drunk's on bikes "rocking out" to 80's tribute bands (no offense to those that like the 80's rock)... Not to mention the burn out pits, globe of death, stunt shows... Yeah, not what I would consider a week of fun...
  15. Welcome! I also am from the Delaware area... I know there are a few others on here from Delaware as well...
  16. That is messed up! Even if you look at the entropy of each of those: Password1 - 40.(something) bits of entropy the first 20 characters of the random string = 72.(something) bits of entropy... EEESH! - wonder what algorithm(s) ebay uses to calculate password strength and complexity.... Potentially they look for an upper case character within the password before determining it to be stronger? Note to self... Ebay security might be as bad as facebook privacy...
  17. Thanks for the advice. I will keep it in mind as I ride... I guess I was looking more for how the sweep, or any other "advise giver" would effectively give these pieces of advise, and coach, another rider, during a group ride, and not "ruin" the group ride for everyone else...
  18. Take me for example - I have a few thousand miles and a few years under my belt... but all on cruisers. I rode the epic ride, on a CBR600, in the slow group. First long ride, with good roads, on a sport bike. I got lazy on the cruisers, and realized that when I switched to the sport bike world. While I was comfortable in the slow group, I am sure I could have used some advice... It got me to thinking though, how would you effectively coach a person on a group ride, with no further back (other than going home) to go, and still not hold others up on the ride... hence the question...
  19. No spelling nazi here... just reciprocating some of the online hate...
  20. ^^^ This. With Exmark, you have to watch... they make both a commercial and a residential line... I would venture to guess that with 6-7 acres, and a mile of trails, you might want to make sure the lazer E series is commercial. (without research, I don't know)....
  21. Yes, excellent job by the sweep of that group.. but I have a question? With some level of seriousness here.. how does one handle a rider that needs coaching, like the video above, in the slowest group, not having a slower group to move them too?
  22. What part of the "Cowntry" might you be located in? Maybe we could pull some resources together to help you change that sprocket and get you rolling quickly again?
  23. so where is "bedord"? Shame I already have plans, might be kind of fun to experience some of the "Tonik Hate" I see so much about on here....

    Iron Pony A+

Not necessarily a price match, but when I bought my icon helmet there, the only one left in my size was the floor model. It was already on clearance, and they still allowed more discount beyond the clearance price, because of the fact that it had been out of the box, and worn by others. That made them a A+ in my book (and they have done that for me on multiple occasions, with multiple items)
