  1. I did email him so we'll see what happens
  2. I wish i would have known about this sooner. I wish Mid-Ohio listed all their events so i could find this stuff.
  3. Hmmmmm..... do you need to be a part of that PCA to par take in the event?
  4. Thank you, It was lots of fun.
  5. Someone posted up some more shots from that weekend http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee117/j2onlineaccts/Wheels/5648080438_a70d51b660_b.jpg http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee117/j2onlineaccts/Wheels/5647297197_2e62e87eb9_b.jpg http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee117/j2onlineaccts/Wheels/5647347639_4401dbb42a_b.jpg http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee117/j2onlineaccts/Wheels/5647687964_2721483268_b.jpg http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee117/j2onlineaccts/Wheels/5647732868_27006c496a_b.jpg http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee117/j2onlineaccts/Wheels/5647360393_b0bc11362d_b.jpg
  6. Depending on what club you run with, SCCA PDX, PCA, BMW or AUDI CC, fees can vary. from 200ish for one day to 370ish for two day events. As far as which group to run with, i've run with Scca during one of their PDX's and NASA's HPDE. PDX is a really good entry in to driving on a road course. NASA educates the driver more and works on a tiered system allowed you to do more on the track the higher you go. For me i'll do PDX's for seat time but HPDE's to learn more.
  7. PDX is a good way for a AutoX person to get a taste of road racing(like me) to see if they want take it further. NASA, PCA, etc seem to be more focused in educating drivers down a structured path. From what i've seen you learn way more at these events than you will at a PDX but its to be expected. PDX is still a good opportunity to get some seat time, which is always going to help with the Driver Mod.
  8. Hmmmmm i have to concider it.
  9. Now that is nice. If it just had a better tranny(6spd or manual)
  10. Yea i'm itching to get back out there too. I have to wait to get my fix though. AutoX does start back up until middle of next month and after that i should be able to get back to mid-ohio. All in all i'll probably miss two more AutoX events going to Mid-Ohio, should be worth it.
  11. Yea my instructor showed me that so thats what i was aiming for. I've now got most of the track memorized. So now i'll run the course and my lines in my head for the next time i'm there. Sadly i actually want more time on the track when its raining, so i can learn the wet line. I try not to say that out loud. I still have a the stock DP so that keeps the boost from building to quickly, and running lean. I also have a Ultra gauge keyed to FP pressure and my fuel trims so i can keep an eye on everything. Depending on how long i decide to keep this car i may get a DP, CPE FP and a tune next year.
  12. Yea the blinds turns were fun. You just have to point the car in a direction and hope you remembered the correct one.
  13. Thank you, I'm trying to see how much a budget to getting to the track this year. I'd like to go a few more times this year. I'll more than likely stay in HPDE 2 so i can get more seat time. I'd like a to have a dedicated track car before i moved to 3 and beyond. My pads were fine it was just the fluid that had air in the lines. I had just swaped it out with a wilwood high temp fluid and had missed getting some of the air out. I fixed that already so next time i should be good. I'm currently running HPS hawk pads but i'm probably going to get HP+ for next time.
  14. I talked to him on sunday, and saw the damage. Cool dude, he gave me some good advice as to options for a dedicated track car. I'm glad he got home.
  15. I remember seeing that ITR. There were several people that went off last weekend.
  16. My second day there i slowed myself down so i could concentrate on my lines and entry speeds since i wanted to level up, and still had a blast. I'll probably be in HPDE 2 for a while theres a lot more you should learn before you move to 3, like driving the wet line and spin recovery/avoidance. I'll need to get a dedicated ride for the track eventually.
  17. There's aways the Hyperdrives $60 for one session isn't a bad deal, just to get a taste.
  18. I figured it was you. I keep trying to hit you up on the Cali forums before i left them. Good luck in your search. SeeYa
  19. True this isn't official race where one person "wins"(except Charlie Sheen), but its apart of getting your competition license. so you can eventually compete in the various racing series. Safety is something you should always be concerned about be it here or any place were you push your cars limits.
  20. That would be nice to see your car on the track. I've seen what it does to a autoX course.
  21. yea i did have a CSRT4. I got rid of it last fall for something more family friendly since i had the MS3.
  22. Depending on your level(HPDE 1,2,3 or4) You have different place your allowed to pass. HPDE 1 & 2 you allowed to pass on the 2 main straights and after turn 11 in tunder vallery. As far as everyone being in a straight line we were just all taking the same line and there was a bit of traffic. http://www.trackpedia.com/mediawiki/images/f/fc/MidOhio.jpg
  23. It be nice to see a Abarth 500 ss on the track. But yea you really get to see what your car can do. I am currently running Hawk HPS pads but i'm thinking about switching to HP+ since i plan on going there more often. Favorite turn would have to be turn 1 just after the pit. Taking that turn just after the Carousel at 65-75mph is always a butt pucker moment for me, and fun as hell.
