Why someone would want to do that to themselves is beyond me.

Yeah you can usually find a "decent" full size for a grand. Good luck finding a small truck in that price range that isn't a total pile. I paid 700 for my old sonoma, And it needed a clutch, 5th gear was out, brake lines were blown out and it was wrecked in the front end (due to the brakes). Few hundred bucks and a ton of work i ended up trading it for something better. The only way you're gonna get a decent deal is if you have to tow it home.

I don't feel bad for any of them. Sometimes cars stop in the middle of the road. Retard in the SUV wasn't paying attention.

People always tell me "drivers aren't looking for bikes" in the winter. I've found the opposite. Seems like you always get a double take when its cold. I have way less close calls with cagers in this weather.

I have no experience with watercooled bikes, should they run that hot? He's right about the bogging caused by being too rich. Could be something as simple as plugs though. Does it have an aftermarket pipe?

This is what you do with a Harley that just came off the truck.

To each his own i suppose. I just don't see how riding a bike that heavy can be fun, at all. I knew they were heavy, but jesus christ. Riding an old GS750 feels like a big fat pig to me, i can't imagine riding two of them at once. -
Icehouse is my go to get drunk on the cheap beer. Not quite as nasty as other ice beers. Cheap as hell, and nobody will drink it out of your cooler because they don't know what it is.

Did they fix the oil leak?

I would definitely be afraid of leaving a bike unattended anywhere near broad ripple. It is a nice place to party though. I'll be staying with a friend in oaklandon that weekend. Bike safe in his garage. Do not miss the flat track race at the indy mile that weekend, It's amazing to watch.

A slow painful death. Just what he deserved.

I want that drivetrain in a crownvic. Complete with nightstick E-brake handle. I'll take mine with a Kennebell on top though, don't need a siren when you've got one of those.
-
Same here. I could do it if you're willing to ship.

How in the fuck are you going to get that thing through the slalom? Granted, i took mine in indiana. The cones were pretty damn close. Watched a guy on a stretched and slammed R1 hit every single cone, simply did not have the turning radius to get through them. Even on a stock crotch rocket it looked difficult. Indiana has a trike specific licence if i recall correctly.

Or just move to West Virginia. They don't seem to care there. You can plate side by sides there too.

Good night.

Because then you're driving something as long as a school bus. Do any offroading at all, and you're high centering it. My 93 chevy has enough room behind the seat for lots of shit. Our newer regular cab dodge at work has even more room. With an 8 foot box you still have the option for a tool box, and still have plenty of room left to keep using the bed. I would get tired real fast of a 6 foot bed, even though i think RCSB trucks look sweet. A 5 foot box in a full size truck is just mind blowing to me. Bikes, lumber, mulch, trash, and lots of other random shit i haul would be irritating to try to cram in there. But since you can't get a new GM with a stick, I'm not interested anyway. You guys can have your mile high overpriced luxo-"trucks".

You call something with a 5 foot box a truck? I never understood the appeal of a quadcab truck, unless you've got a construction crew to haul around. Buy a regular cab long bed that can actually be usable, and use the left over money for a beater family car for when you need to haul around people. All the disadvantages of a pickup, with less utility than a real truck. Perfect.

Good stuff right there.

Bleh. I'd rather have this.

In some places in south america you're required to wear a vest with your plate number on it. Makes spotting a stolen bike easy.

I'm amazed at how many more 70's and 80's trucks are still rolling around in Indiana compared to here. Yes, stuff rusts in Indiana. Just a hell of a lot slower than here. You don't see a whole lot of perfect trucks there, buy you see at least 5 of those old 80's chevys anytime you go anywhere. Here, Not so much. Hell you see cars and trucks that aren't even 10 years old with rust holes in them here. My poor truck doesn't stand a chance.

Brake lines/fuel lines/exhaust/oil pan and shit are replaceable, and have already been replaced once by me. I'm concerned for the frame and body. My bed supports are just gone after last winter. Massive holes. By the end of this winter i'm betting it will be sagging if i don't work hard to stop it. I'm jealous of those cars in the southwest that have sun beaten paint but look brand new underneath. My truck looks pretty decent from the outside, but crawling underneath it i just want to cry.

I'm getting my truck sprayed with bar and chain oil underneath in an attempt to keep the rust at bay. It really makes me sick to my stomach looking at the roads. I love my truck, and rust is what will take her from me. Anything else, I can fix. Clutch gives out, big deal. Brakes, I do them in my sleep. But there's no fixing it when the frame rots through. It always had a touch of rust, but last winter it just exploded underneath. Gas tank got it, lost 3 brake lines, rear bumper support, core support and fenders all have holes that they didn't before. Off to craigslist to search for a sacrificial lamb....

I have lived in akron now for almost a year, moving from rural indiana. Akron sees a little more snow than where i'm from, but not that much more. What shocks me is that very, very rarely are the roads snowy and slick here. Summit county must have a gigantic salt budget. I drove my truck to work and home today, and its the first i've been out since friday. It was FILTHY. The salt was just caked on the poor old girl. I'm going to spend more on car washes this winter than food. I washed it after work, but i'm sure it'll be caked on with the shit tomorrow, and i'll have to wash it again. Where i'm from, they plowed the major roads, salted the interstates and intersections and left most everything else alone. By the end of winter they were rationing salt and many places never even got any. People slowed down, and you got to laugh at the idiots who didn't. Here, i can't even get my wheels to spin with 2.5 inches of snow on the ground. I actually hit a thick white patch on a fairly rural road and was preparing for the back end to kick out. When it didn't i gave it a little gas and it grabbed. The salt was so fucking deep i thought it was a patch of snow. I guess they don't call this the rust belt for nothing. No wonder people can't fucking drive here when the snow hits unexpectedly. I really wish they would just plow the deep stuff and call it good like they do back home. I'm going to have to buy a beater to get through winter, my truck already has some rust issues, it's going to be gone after a few years if i put it through this shit.
