  1. Well how are you doin as of today man? Feeling any better yet?

Well, I was doing better a few days ago. Doesn't seem like the swelling is going down, if anything it feels like it's getting worse. All the drugs they had me loaded up on, has worn off, making my arm very uncomfortable. No pain, just annoying. The rest of my upper body is pretty sore and bruising. Other than that, I'm doing pretty good.

Here's a couple pictures of my fingers. You can see how swollen they are.

  2. Yeah, I just screwed up and did exactly what you're not suppose to do. Once I looked at the grass, it was all over.

Anyway, I'm currently trying to edit what footage I did get but it has a lot of boring stuff. As soon as I'm done hacking it, I'll post it in your original ride thread.

This ride, definitely not all that technical, is however, the ride that took me out so I've already decided that when I'm back up and running, it will be my first ride back out on the bike, just so I can finish what I started. Depending on my heal time, may not be this year, but it will get done. Hopefully I can get you guys to go with me again.

  3. Haha! You're funny! I'm about 190 nekid, with gear, I'm sure I was pretty heavy. Unfortunately, I received a phone call today from the wonderful officer, let's me know a "failure to control" ticket is in the mail. Tells me the ambulance left the scene before he had the opportunity to finish his paperwork.

  4. How long between the injury and the decision to postpone the surgery?

When I broke my nose recently my surgery consult was the day after the injury and I was told the surgery would be postponed until the swelling went down. Same in your case?

Yeah, I was just trying to be funny, but yeah, that's why it's delayed, my arm is twice the size it's suppose to be, so they're letting the swelling go down.

    How'd his surgery go?

  5. My week's been nothing but discomfort and annoying ache, not really pain just enough ache to remind me it's there. Can't wait till Thu, to get this shit over with.

By the way Ben, how's the baby sleeping at night?

  6. Saw the doc today that's performing the surgery and he's 75% sure he's going to cut the top of the bone off and attach a prosthetic. He won't know for sure till he get's in there and looks at the pieces. Also, I had the bone wrong. It's the head of the radius that's shattered.

  7. Kent' date=' what kind of armor is in that suit? I am surprised your elbow took such a beating. My Joe Rocket boots and textile pants saved my right leg when I smacked that fawn at ~60mph in WV a few weeks ago. I had a little bruising, but nothing got busted.[/quote']

Actually, there wasn't a mark on the entire left arm of the jacket. By the looks of my left glove, I believe I tried to catch myself and jammed everything.

  8. Sorry to hear. I rode with you once on a CORE ride. You were smooth and quick from what I remember. That's a hard reminder that it only takes 1 curve to turn a good day bad :(

Sounds cliche, but it could have been worse.

Yeah on a normal day, that turn would have been no problem for me but I allowed my shield to distract me from what I should have been focusing on. It definitely could have been worse. The other guys said I missed a round pipe sticking out of the ground by about three feet or something like that. I didn't get the chance to see it so maybe one of them will post about it.

  9. Damn man, that sucks. Glad you didnt get hurt worse. Heal fast.

Id check those forks before I laid any money out for parts.

Yeah, I hear ya. Will definitely check everything out before putting any money in it.

  10. Well after riding for 12-13 years, I finally went down and I'm kind of embarrassed about how it happened. As you'll see in the video, we were approaching the intersection of 83 south and 78 when the left side of my shield decided to pop loose from the locking mechanism on the side of my helmet. I fix it and then we proceeded on.

Unfortunately, my mind was still focused on the shield instead of the road ahead of me and it was too late by the time I returned my focus to the road and I was already fixated on the grass instead of the road and rode right off the side into the grass.

Don't remember the crash, just laying on my back staring at the sky. When I sat up to look at the bike, I realized my left arm hurt and could barely move it.

At about this time MadMax33 (sorry man, I'm horrible with names) was approaching me and helped me remove my helmet cause I was having a hard time breathing.

By this time quite a few people had stopped including some Harley riders that we had passed a few miles before. Lucky for me, one of the people who stopped was a nurse. She was great and helped me out a lot. She got my gloves and jacket off so we could see my arm and we knew right away it was dislocated.

Anyway, not going to ramble on, cause this one finger typing is getting old already.

So, ambulance shows up, highway patrol doesn't write me a ticket.

Hailwood (Bill or Will? See, told you I suck at names) follows us to the hospital and hangs out to make sure I was ok.

Damage is (all to the left arm) a dislocated elbow, shattered the end of the ulna bone into a few pieces and broke my thumb. They set my elbow Sunday and for reasons I don't understand, not having surgery until the 28th.

Bike doesn't look too bad. Right now, looks like it's all cosmo.

I just want to thank everyone who helped Sunday including those that are not members on here who I never had a chance to thank. Thank you all!

Alright, here's a short video of my stupidity and a few pictures.

This doesn't reveal much but it's the only picture I got.
