  1. Is your girlfriend Karen? Did she meet some of us at the Eldean Rd. covered bridge in Troy? Either way, glad ya joined up and post up some build pix!
  2. Definitely dont do it, I have seen shit that guys at work have brought up on the site.....some traumatic stuff that took a while to forget.
  3. Damn! Thats haulin ass - these electric bikes are NO JOKE
  4. I've also heard WD rubbed into your hands helps alleviate arthritis pain
  5. Use it, more fella's are thumb upping the WD - I've never used it on mine, I just know the brakewash works killer and its a fast cutter for tar/grime/wax/etc
  6. Doesnt take much coolant to blow smoke, so you wouldnt notice the level drop all of a sudden - is this the 1st time its smoked and is it a lot of smoke? Thick white cloud or a hazy blue cloud?
  7. All this ^^^ Head gasket may be the cheap route in this scenario, which isn't hateful on SOME bikes as it can be done in-frame - If its oil burn, could still be a head gasket or bad/worn rings - But worse yet, the head needs repaired/replaced. You can have the head pressure tested to be sure if you cant tell by looking at the gasket, but you can usually tell where coolant or oil is pushing past the gasket in most cases if its just a gasket issue. Good luck man, I'd call Ryan at ShopDog Cycles if you dont know what you're doing
  8. Yes sir, just be quick about it - I wouldnt let it soak on the wheel and wont hurt to shoot it with some sort of detailer to protect the finish afterwards Oh, and all I've ever used was the "non chlorinated" so I dont know what the chlorinated formula would do to paint or powdercoat
  9. Brakewash, spray on a rag and wipe it right off - dries in seconds and wont leave any oils on your tire. Its never hurt the finish on my wheels, but I also use a quick detailer on the wheel afterwards to keep shit from sticking as often
  10. 4chan is some seriously fucked up stuff......
  11. I got a Sony HandiCam 8mm I'd be willing to part with fairly cheap, but if you own a VCR there "used" to be VHS adapter cassettes that took 8mm tapes inside for viewing/recording/converting - but I havent seen those in years. May be worth the $20 to get it burnt to DVD?

    Bike in Pickup

Traction wont matter since the chock holds the front tire in place no matter the surface under it. The strapped bike applies pressure to the chock/plywood, the plywood cut to the width of your bed keeps the chock in place, and the chock keeps the front tire in place. The only way this would fail is if he lost a side of his bed or if both straps frag apart simultaneously. Thanx for the tip Redkow, I'm getting a chock and bolt it to a 2x12 cut to width of mine now since my Tacoma has a plastic bed insert ( no sheet metal, its seriously a cast plastic ) and I fear drilling it. Might even do this fore AND aft of the bike so it surely wont roll out in case of strap failure ( shortbed, long bike, means gate down ). Condors are sweet but not in the budget for me when I can buy a pair of standard chocks at HarborFreight for $30 and already have a stick of 2x12

    goodbye

Sorry to hear about all of this man, was good meeting you at the Dayton m&g too. In all honesty, your folks shouldn't really stand in your way of riding if you love it. My parents bought me my first dirtbike when I was 11 and they saw me throw it down a lot, and got hurt several times.....but they never asked me to stop since they both knew how much I loved riding. Now, when I turned 18 I bought my own streetbike and got my temps, they said they wouldn't get in my way but if it's what I wanted to do then so be it. I eventually went down on my ride to work on night, simple lowside in some gravel on a turn - I sprained my leg pretty bad but was fine other than that. The bike needed a new headlamp and gauges, so I fixed it up and sold it but not because they wanted me to......they assumed I'd fix it and get back out there. I went straight back to dirt riding and quit street riding for almost 10 years, didnt regret anything just my decision at the time. Met my wife-to-be and she was fine with getting a streetbike, so I bought my first sportbike and haven't looked back since. Glad you will be fine (eventually) and dont assume you wont get another bike until they're gone, just get back to it at YOUR own pace when YOU'RE ready. They love you and will surely understand your passion for it
  15. Finally boring these things past 1400cc's definitely did wonders for the output. Wish they'd done it for ours Nick:D Better late than never I guess. Btw, is this Shane's ( Bikeland.org ) wife Rachael? I havent been on BL in a while and the article didnt mention him anywhere. Just wondering
  16. Hellz yeah! Glad you and your bro could make it out - I got some tix with you and Brandts name on 'em, just let me know how many you guys will need and I'll be yo pusha:D
  17. I second this, really appreciate the help with moderating the group bro. Glad we kept the whole train steamin' together, and we picked up an extra rider along the route. Hopefully he'll join up!
  18. It was all good Greg, you fit right in bro - good stories too! You definitely brought some enlightenment and hope you hit that 1/2 million mile mark soon!
  19. We had a blast too, ended up with a bakers dozen of us and thats extra sweet since my lucky number is 13 The route was great except for the one road closing that ended up killing a couple miles of more lean angles but all in all I was happy with the ride, its pace, and especially to meet everyone - we will surely plan some more events. Car show was cool too, some killer customs to oogle at. Glad everyone came out and enjoyed the atmosphere with us!
  20. I remember those days too, some weekends at Wiley's parking lot there'd be a monster crowd of sport riders then BIG packs of 30-40 bikes running the rt35/rt49 split like it was motogp race. Played at BlindBobs in the Oregon recently and didnt see hardly any so those days may be gone? We wont be going, got chores to do tonight since we're out of town this wkend
  21. Nice, lookin' to be about a dozen or so showing up tomorrow night
  22. Hey Greg, think the goal is to meet between 6 - 7pm or so. Whenever works but once there's a decent group we will probably suit up and ride some local twisties
