  1. Damn......when's your next colonoscopy? Might be worth framing a pic of the doc's face on that visit!
  2. We sell 6-pole switches at work, well actually 5-pole and a ground but they're available - personally, I'd just pull the fuses unless you do a LOT of trackdays - saves you time, a bit of money, and less to fail later......wouldn't want a switch failing when a cops trailing......up to you though
  3. Onions......mmmmm......thats a perfect 1st date food to really test a lady
  4. I use the old diver's trick.........spit on it!!
  5. The oil builds levels of acidity as it breaks down in your engine, so if you leave used oil it in over a period of time it will eventually eat at the internals -- I'm not talking about 1k mile used oil, I'm saying USED where the oils black and virtually non-viscous since it's not something that happens quickly, it's just a good habit to circulate fresh oil through the engine before storing it.......and any condensation will boil off with your 1st long ride of the spring. I usually change mine at the end of the season WITH a fresh filter - then drop-n-swap just the oil about mid-season ( oil maybe every 3k miles and filter every 5-6k miles )
  6. I had the YZF1000R before my Ninja and think the YZF6R is the same design so you have to pull the front tank mounting bolt, swing the tank up on the rear hinge mount (carefully, you dont want to yank out the fuel level sensor harness) and the petcock is under the tank (real bright idea there Yamaha!) So its kind of a PITA every winter to cut the fuel off and run the carbs dry, if I'd kept mine I would've added another petcock in a more user-friendly location. As far as coolant, these fella's are talking about track-approved coolant which has far less freeze protection but way better heat dissipation - so if you leave water & wetter in your bike below freezing, it could possibly split a radiator tank from the core or worse - for street use, you probably have ethylene glycol & water mix ( standard antifreeze ) so it should be fine through the winter - BUT, if you're not sure then it would be a good idea to drain the system and refill with proper 50/50 mix so you wont have any expensive surprises this spring......other than that, always change your oil & filter before the last ride of the year so its parked with clean lube all winter.......then when spring hits, unhook the battery tender, turn the fuel back on, check your tire pressure, fire it up an ride! Any condensation in the engine oil will boil right off so you wont have to worry about an oil change until later in the year. Some guys like to fog the upper cylinders before storage, but I dose mine with Lucas Fuel Treatment the last couple tanks late in the season.....good stuff, its a stabilizer, cleaner, and top cyl lube all in one! Hope this helps...
  7. My (biological) father has a Goldwing and triked it a couple years ago after a long trip from Alabama out west and back.....he had trouble with holding up the overall weight of the bike, luggage, and wife so he made the $10k "justification" to his bike - said he had issues with the front tire wearing fast and some cupping issues too until he tried Metzler's and cured the problem, not sure which model tire though - makes since to use a dual compound since the tire will never wear evenly being unable to lean. Dont know what you're running in front of yours, but if its an issue check out the Metz's!

    Buck Down!!

See there.......you gotta make us some jerky now!! My dad had a dehydrator when I was a teen and we made all kinds of jerky in it -- but venison and beef were the best of our trials with it
  10. :welcome: and kudo's to you for still riding.....trike or not!

    Buck Down!!

Nice kill, and nice bow!! That a Mathews? Either way, looks like a serious investment piece -- I'd like 2lbs of venison jerky when its ready please!!!
  12. Thats determination right there......he's no quitter......even when twinkies are buy 1 get 1!! Swear I could hear that poor scooter screaming in the background, but no sparks flying so its all good! Still have to wonder what kind of mileage he's getting......
  13. Yeah, I usually get what I want even when it's not mine :D:D Seriously though, this is THE bike she wanted a few years ago - we jumped on buying the Intruder since it was a stompin' good deal and got what we paid for it with trading it - can't beat a washout! She's happy and the RoaringToyz lowering kit is already in the mail I rode the bike home from the dealer for her last night until we get the lowering kit installed.......For a guy my size at 6ft 285lbs AND coming off a ZX14 this baby Kaw didn't do ANYTHING for me, but I expected as much - it's all about her and what she wanted/needed and in comparison to her Intruder, it will be worlds better in handling/braking/ease of use - AND the controls are adjustable which will keep her grip where it belongs instead of her having to reach for the levers as much......was kind of a safety issue imo, but I feel a lot better about this bike fitting her.......once she gets some saddle time, she can post up her opinion on it -- but for what it's worth, I'm a happy hubby
  14. Well, that IS a coincidence.....my garage just so happens to be a 3-car! I'm in in in!
  15. Lock this up - Intruder was traded for a baby Kaw today!
  16. Sadly, my face has quite a plethra of hair "ability" but it drives me nuts to let it grow much more than 1/4".........now if we're talking chestbeard, I'd be in fo' sho'!!
  17. My garage has a Kawi in it AND I wear some Icon gear -- that should double-qualify me!! I'd like to use my provisional please!! Me me me!!

I always upload into my profile album and then URL from there -- photobucket ( and other media sites ) is blocked on my work pc, so it's simpler to do it all from the forum - just make sure your profile pics are setup for public view. Looks like this would be a decent deal -- has it ever had a valvetrain adjustment? If not, it's surely due for one. glws!!
  19. Wish I could.....seems our spare cash gets invested into the house or our vehicles, but someday (if we're still at this house by then) I can muster the funds to do so.....sucks having to shovel over a 100ft just to get to my garage, then I have to dig out from there too.....but the big yard is nice too:D
