  1. Thats not bad for the payload its got - good high gear and shaft ratio's doin' their job!
  2. My ZX14 gets on avg about 36, but it's geared up a couple teefers and I play once in a while.......but the on board "current mileage" calculator reads as high as 48mpg in 6th @ 75mph on 89 octane pump gas. I could probably manage to get 80mpg's out of her if I swapped the 45 rear with a 35 tooth
  3. Quick recovery wished to your buddy........hate to hear about anyone hitting the ground........I've had friends that used to swap bikes around and all ride together, I'd go along but never let anyone else ride my bike nor would I ride anyone else's........just a liability I'm not willing to get involved with. But that's the way I am.........I'm not judging you and your decisions in any way........but I'm the same way with my vehicles.........nobody drives 'em but the wife and I - simpler that way
  4. Damn, that sucks.......I've no clue who or what happened, but my sportbike does just fine under 75mph :D:D Any details of what kind of sportbike? I got some work buddies that ride that area, and a few of them are noobs.......so, worst case I guess I'll find out tomorrow if it was one of them or not
  5. I wouldn't worry about doubling a clay/hunting gun with home defense - no reason to have a shorter barrel for the house........any criminal hears you rack a round in a shotgun and they won't be sticking around to see how long the barrel is!! And if they do, that 28" will throw shot at 'em as well as any 18"..........Buy what suits you and don't settle on quality just because you're a first timer - if you dig the Benelli's, get one.......I used to have Ithaca's - and I thought they were very good weapons, never an issue.........but not sure they're even around anymore.......haven't had a shotgun in my possession for over 20 years. Happy shopping!!
  6. SWing'r, I've heard that some battery companies are buying back "cores" in upwards of $20-$25 each. Might be worth looking into that battery place on 23 if cores are truly going for that much
  7. See if he's got a brother Darrel.......and another brother Darrel.......then take him coon huntin, since he probably rides that Kat like a dirtbike anyway:D
  8. From the sounds of him, I'd be changing the locks on the garage if I were you....
  9. I only get 3 days a week here......Saturday, Sunday, Monday#1, Monday#2, Monday#3, Monday#4, Monday#5.......rinse and repeat
  10. Did you fit aftermarket exhaust? Or did Kawi go to single side for '09? Anyway, bump for a badass beauty! A tasty toy like this IS in my future........but not yet......not yet........GLWS!!
  11. Black it out stealth style - schaweet! Gonna be a sick ride when you're done!!
  12. I'd sold a bike to a guy few years ago, and he shows up in a car?? I figured right then that he wouldn't be buying it - but we did the deal and afterwards he called AAA to send a rollback to pickup the bike.......once the tow driver showed up, the new owner loaded it up fine.......but it was when they strapped it down that I about threw up........even though I didn't own the bike anymore, just watching the driver strap the rear wheel to the back of his truck - then strap the front wheel to the winch at the cab and he wound it so tight that I feared I was going to see the forks snap in half.........I swear he pulled the wheelbase another inch when he winched it down!! Then they strapped side to side over the seat with the bike on it's stand.........I warned the buyer that he may be putting fork seals in it after this - really bad way to tie down and haul a bike. If it were mine, I'd be renting a trailer or asking for help - if it's not on 4 wheels, I'd forget AAA

Evan Williams Honey Whiskey? Anyone get to sample this smooth, rich, delicious nectar of Kentuckian Gods? We got a free bottle recently and it went like hotcakes at the WaffleHouse!! Gotsta get me sum'mer a dat!!
  14. I work in HuberHeights and live in Piqua.......and almost went for a job at Gover HD - but sadly......I'm a metric fan
  15. You may be thinking of Piatt Castle's not too far from Hocking valley.......there's some good riding all around Hocking Hills -- not sure of the asphalt conditions now, but back in '03 they were FRESH paved and awesome tree canopied twisty's -- would've been a blast on a bike had I taken mine Definitely check out Rock House, that was one of my favorites. Devil's Bathtub was cool to see as well........just go see it all, you'll enjoy something about everything
  16. I saw a guy on the interstate today with all the essentials in place......helmet on, gloves on, jacket on.......but, once he passed baracades between north and south bound is when I saw he had on shorts and sneakers.......WTF?? Why go to all the trouble to gear up from just the waist up? Nonsense to me. People ask if it's hot underneath the riding gear.......I explain how I'd rather sweat than bleed. I typically don't preach about gear or no gear - I do what I want and let nature pick the rest of the riders on the road
  17. I tried the noise reduction plug in my Brock's Streetmeg, but the pipe shit it out......made some difference at lower rev's but nothing can tolerate the power of WOT.......and use more than just a tad of locktight to keep the mounting screw secure if you plan to keep yours :D:D
  18. Yeah, the commentators aren't always the brightest - heard him call it a backflip a couple times........Pastrana's 720 would've been killer but with that fast of rotation, he'd be lucky to land it once every 10 tries! Still impressive attempts and Strong's front flip was sweet
