Nice purchase........but without any dirt available to you locally, I'd definitely sumo convert that thing.........but with the trans gearing, you'd probably want to shrink the rear sprocket quite a bit to get any real mileage and speed out of her

Guess I should've read this thread before posting mine... http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=77412&highlight=rudy Damn, memory is failing me more and more these days:D So, the consensus is steer clear of Rudy Rd. until its repaved......probably around 2025 or so?

I typically commute on the Interstate from home (Piqua) to work (HuberHeights) in the mornings and commute to home from work via backroads in the evenings -- I hadn't been up Rudy Rd. in quite some time, but I remember chattin' with OldSchoolDime about it recently so I chose to take it this particular day (Tuesday evening) off of westbound Rt 571. As soon as I turned north on Rudy, I noticed an excessive amount of tarsnakes which is usually nothing out of the ordinary for Ohio; but once the road started twisting, these tarsnakes were so thick and greasy that my bike was stepping out very badly and at low speeds (25mph turns and I was at 15-20mph!!).......even rolling straight with the clutch pulled, the bike was slipping left and right!! Impossible to enjoy the scenery/ride with the surface conditions -- I couldn't tolerate it anymore and skipped Benham Rd. to hop off Rudy where it intersects Tipp-Elizabeth Rd. FYI for any of you that ride this area, do yourself a favor and steer clear of Rudy Rd. -- at least the southern section of it, I can't elaborate on the north end after Benham Rd. and Tipp-Elizabeth since I'd had enough by that point.

Nice.......should be a gratifying job to have -- good luck in your new endeavors!!

Repost or not, this kind of shit enrages me!! I mean it......I could punch a baby RIGHT NOW!! I wish I was rich and had nothing but time to waste, I'd sit in a tree and wait for these fux with a trusty, full-auto rifle, loaded down with rubber rounds to unleash hell on these inbred bastards!!!!

Feelin' your pain Sparky, I've got issues with letting stupidity up and leave without learning a lesson of some sort - I typically just try to pull up on their right side, flip their mirror forward as I blast past......Only ever damaged another's vehicle years ago when a rich guys wife parked his new Tahoe's bumper against my truck's bumper - I saw my truck rocking back n forth just as I was coming out of a store and she was on her way in.....her trap was flappin' so vigorously into her phone that she didnt see me approach my truck, but I was so pissed as I casually walked towards that expensive looking, brand new, composite headlamp and put my fist through it......dumb bitch should've hung up the phone and paid attention.......I understand the fact that she didnt learn anything from this since she wasnt there to see it, but I didnt care......made ME feel better about it all:D

No excuses here, I'm clueless to where they hide good twisties between me and Columbus - I'd be blastin' the highway there unless a SW Ohio group flocked together and backroaded it.......I figured the majority rode in and would suit up to ride off n on throughout the day - am I wrong? Gonna be semi-rare for me to make it to Cbus functions as it is, tend to schedule myself in a hole week by week......but its what I got to do man. If I had custody of my kid, I'd feel more in a position to drop what I'm doing and come to most of these events -- wish that were the case bro, be a dream come true to hit MO trackdays with you all on a regular basis - not many this way that play. Schedules will come together like 2 butt cheeks eventually!!

Haa!! Think I'd feel a little out of place driving my truck to a bike meet.......I'd rather be able to participate in a group ridden, twisty-roaded, throttle floggin' than sit on the tailgate and just talk about riding:D I only get my daughter 8 or 9 days a month, so I tend to be greedy about how that time's spent.......she's not into motorcycles at all, and would probably bore the shit out of her if I brought her And I haven't really badgered anyone here other than the occasionally random backhand, but only when it's called for :D:D It's all good though, I'll definitely make time to meet up with as many OhioRiders as I can in times to come.

I won't make this meet, have my daughter all weekend and then I'm on nightshift Aug.1 - Aug. 12th .......but plan to make some meets later this August / Sept / Oct

Soldier! Thanx for your service!

Got my daughter all weekend, so won't make this one........plan to get out to one soon though.........schedule is starting to loosen up so there's seat time in my future!!

If your friend offered his property, I'd put some junk cars / trucks out there with a couple ramps or steps to start working your control........that way you've got "some" mobility there if he needs to move anything around.........might be a bit costly to do though, even with junkyard deals. When I was a kid we used to play with an old flatbed trailer with the legs knocked off the end and the axle pushed forward, was like a 40ft teeter totter - but we were just screwing around with little dirtbikes, not a purpose built trials bike.......stuff is still fun though.

Seen 'em too.......think mopeds and 50cc are not though

Eh, maybe some life in this old thread yet.........I swapped my Ninja to Amsoil this year, it always had Mobil in it since new. Converted the wifes air-cooled Intruder over at the same time, but its been so Godawful hot this summer that I cant tell if it helped 'em run cooler or not:D:D Either way, did it for peace of mind more than anything.......or at least it helped to quiet some of the voices in my head

What were the findings on your rear brake issue?

I've got a weak 12k on my '08.......guess who needs to make more time to ride??

WANTED: mens size 10.5 0r 11 riding boots, (street)
Helmutt replied to accel_is_my_drug's topic in LBTS GLWS
I wear Field Armor Icons for most long rides, not sure how they'd be for any agressive track days though, they're not made for track use since they're basically just an armored boot, no toe pucks and they are big soled - but assume they'd qualify to use at a track day? I wanted street protection and at $130 shipped, suited me well -
Your output shaft is probably ok, typically the seal will distort and leak engine oil if the chains overtightened briefly - I've never seen an output shaft bent that wasn't severely leaking........so take a look behind the sprocket for any signs of oil bleeding out.

If the drivetrain didn't make any racket before this problem, sounds to me like your rear axle shifted some. Usually front to back isn't a problem since the caliper mount should float with the axle, but more than likely it's side to side binding that would cause this problem. :edit: Oh, and yeah this should've been posted in the "Tech and Tips" section.......no biggie, just FYI. Definitely try to adjust your rear axle and ensure that's where the problem is (I'm thinking it is)........after everthings lined up right, torque that axle nut to about 90-100 ftlb.......while it's apart though, I'd check that rear rotor for runout too since it sounds like it may have possibly warped from the excess heat.......post up your findings and good luck!!

2-stroke power is worlds larger than 4-stroke power - 500cc 2-strokes are relatively equal to 750cc 4-stroke? Something like that but quite a bit lighter so more power and less mass = widowmaker

I had an early 80's YZ465 - big, portly enduro but only rode it a time or two before selling - way too much grunt for me to try and throw around......but it was almost fun spinning your back tire at the same time the bikes fighting to loop out on you!!
