  1. I'm the 2nd generation born American - Grandfolk came here in the 40's - grandpop was Austrian, grandma is German - not fluent in any language other than English, but I can cuss ya in Spanish a little bit :D:D
  2. Why only polish your frame? Thats just setting yourself up for a lot of extra repolishing every month or 2 - if u seriously want it polished, i would go the extra step and get it chromed. Will save you a bunch of work in the long run. I polished a set of wheels and never got them chromed, big mistake since wheels pick up a ton of brake dust and road grime - planned to do the frame and swingarm but decided otherwise after all the hassle with the wheels gave me every year......just FYI man.
  3. Beer or no beer.......liquor or no liquor.......in a few short months, nobody will ever steal my biscuits again at Bob Evans without my wife puttin' one in their backside!!
  4. Glad everyone involved is good to go, but my deepest condolences to your bike -- now just order a bodykit from SharkSkinz and track that beast out!!
  5. Cool prayer! But, I "fine-tuned" it a bit.....:D:D Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy cams; thine curbing come, thine drift be done, on the brakes, or i shall see the heavens… Give us this day, our daily holeshot; and forgive us for our sideways tendancies, as we forgive those who use our racelines against us… lead us not into the tire wall, and deliver us from lowsides, For thine is the the pole……the podium……and the victory for ever and ever......Amen.
  6. Tonik, I voted for your buddy and it's looking like he's got it hands down......127 votes for him so far
  7. The tailsection looks older GSXR but the front fairing is R1'ish - definitely a one of a kind lookin' ride
  8. I'm assuming these don't have a non-interference type valvetrain but would be nice if they did
  9. I'd LOVE to ride my big ol' couch at VIR!! *add to my bucketlist - trackday(s) VIR* :D
  10. and thankyou for your service! I love my freedom
  11. So over the springtime, friend of mine did a valve adj. at 40k miles (little late, huh?) and shimmed her back into spec - I recommended a CCT while he was tearing into it, but he tells me afterwards that he needed to go as cheap as possible so he skips the CCT. He and another guy are out around Springfield this past Friday and suddenly he hears a gutwrenching clatter from the engine, shuts it down instantly, coasts to a stop just a mile or 2 from home. This "friend" of his talks him into firing it back up to limp it home, so he hesitantly does so.......instantly the same nasty clatter, shuts it down again - so the bike gets a lift from a truck to the house and no more was done with it that day - curiosity is killing him and Saturday he hits the key and it turns over a few times then the engine stops abruptly - locked, starter just clicks clicks clicks.......sound like the CCT (or camchain itself failed) to everyone else? I didn't get to see it apart, but I almost wish I had bought a tensioner for him at this point, if thats the culprit - I feel bad for him as he's currently got a lot of turmoil in his life so riding is the only pressure relief he's got.....uh, had. Any other idea's here that may shoot a ray of sunshine up this poor fella's ass? He's asking me for possible reasons for failure since he cant work on it for a while and this is about the only guess I have with how I was told it all played out. Thanx in advance for any additional brainstorms
  12. Tittilating story.......doubt it will be on "Cops" though:D:D
  13. This country needs more fella's like you, I'm the same way - feel obligated to do the right thing, but sadly I know to rarely expect it back........There's just too many fux out there anymore that lie their way through a sale........whereas I get no satisfaction in puttin' it to people
  14. Not sure what you're buddy is after but here's some options...... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/97-06-600-KATANA-Tri-Oval-Carbon-Stubby-Muffler-Exhaust-/190547772819?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2c5d884593 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Suzuki-1997-2006-600-Katana-Stainless-Muffler-Exhaust-/180523839555?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a080f3043 I just searched "2006 Suzuki Katana 600 exhaust" on ebay motors
  15. There ya go, cables are relatively cheap and aren't nearly as susceptable to heat and moisture like SuperDot4/5 are :D
  16. Really? Wonder if that's mainly for "race" applications for easy replacement and a little weight savings?? I know that ( at least in the past ) 600's were typically cable clutched - 1000's and up were typically hydro........but seems anymore, aren't most all newer sportbikes hydro? Either way, I'd rather hydraulic - it's a safer system IMO.
  17. I was gonna say, no matter if you're in shape or not - prepare to overwork your body and put yourself to the test of tests! :D A whole day in the trails or at a mx track will surely show anyone how out of shape they really are -- mx and sx racers are no joke, the most cardio-capable athletes on the planet. Glad you got the experience - adrenalinized good times!

I'm stuck at work until 3pm, then straight home to get the yardwork done before dinner time - then I may have to help a friend get his mower running so he won't want to borrow mine:D Another month of softball and my daughter's season will be over - then my seat time allowance will surely increase substantially!!!
  19. Personally, I don't know what happened between you 2 but I would post an ad in your local paper's lost and found for 30 days to make it legally yours (as long as he doesn't claim it within the 30 days).........then fill it with your favorite music, and wear it in plain sight at work so he's able to see it........then wait for him to come to you about it and explain the ad you ran - be sure to keep a copy of the newspaper for proof just in case he's a bigger dick than you thought Consider it debt paid and in a legit way.......There, you're still the bigger person:D:D:D
  20. That's terrible to hear........5-1/2 yrs old?!?! My condolences man, sad sad day
  21. I thought Harley's were ALL 1-speeds anyway...........slow or stopped
