@oldschoolsdime92 does paint correction, he'd surely know what works well in the compound/wax industry
  4. Bump. Bikes well sorted and priced right.
  5. Glad to hear it didn't tear your left leg apart, and lucky it didn't do more damage than it did at that speed. I typically don't push chains beyond 10k miles, once I adjust them a few times, the sprockets show wear, and it all starts looking dingy - I swap it all out
  6. That's definitely different than it used to be. After lunch the sessions started with a CR leading a lap or 2 then waiving us by, and after lunch there were no more classroom sessions between track excursions either. Maybe they made the changes as a precautionary measure, or there were instances that demanded a program change?
  7. Few years ago STT and MidO both had open afternoon novice sessions ( unless you were slow, then a CR would tow ) while CRs would mingle through traffic keeping the peace. Haven't done a trackday with either org since 2015 though, so may have changed
  8. I get why they would change those rules, for safety sake, but holding groups all day long seems like it would suck for the faster novice riders that have a good grasp on their limits. I liked it because it let us apply what we'd learned without the craziness of Intermediate
  9. That's who we went with our first trackday too. Good org, and MidO's crew ran a very similar program. Now, this was 4 years ago so I'm not sure if they've changed their format or not, but used to be that the afternoon sessions were pretty much open for Novice groups after a couple controlled parade laps ( builds tire heat ) then they'd waive us by to ride on our own. Couldn't pass in the corners, but the straights were fair game as long as you stayed 6ft or more away from the bikes you pass, and don't stuff them setting up for the corners.
  10. Your Concours could pull that with a cruiser on it
  11. Did not know that. But I heard that's why Tapoco Lodge was built as well, because of dam/bridge construction crews needing shelter during the projects
  12. Wow doc......much sooner than expected! I'd assumed you'd shopped for at least a week or more. Congrats man!!
  13. Think you just did that, but I'll let her know too LOL. Townsend seems like it would be more fun for non-riding-wives wanting something to do
  14. Awesome! Pikes Peak is on our bucket list. Looking at your pics, rethinking later in the summer for our trip though
  15. Agreed. And it probably was the #1 resort when everything was fresh and new. They have everything right there
  16. Wife and I are in for this. Glad the venue is changing. It surely CAN'T be any worse. And it will be nice not having to trailer through the Dragon.
  17. We wont be able to make it, but Putnam is an awesome choice for 1st timers. Easy layout so the race lines are simple to pickup, which makes it easier to focus on your BP and riding smooth. Who's hosting it? STT? Motoseries?
  18. 2wheel Inn in Robbinsville looks like it would hold us. It's more of a motel-like setup, but each room has an attached bike garage, a breakfast/dinner steakhouse on site, laundry, 19 rooms available. $80/night http://twowheelinn.com
  19. I had to plead a bit to get our cabin of choice, but they originally told me they wont guarantee specific cabin reservations, but do grant the group rate? Weird policy. If we have a group and point out which cabin we want, we should be able to reserve that cabin without fighting for it.
  20. I agree @Tpoppa. We chose our cabin because of it's closer locale to the group, but moreso because the driveway was fairly level. The topography at Fontana can make it tough for bikers to pick the right place
  21. If Gateway Inn is big enough to accommodate about 20-25 riders, might be a good option next time. Not as much on-site offerings as Fontana, but the only other place I know of with that many amenities in the area is probably IronHorse Inn down 28 in lower Stecoah? Our Willow cabin wasn't the greatest either, and had it's own issues but was basically just a place to sleep, shit, shower, and have cold storage for our food....that being said, most any larger resort type places would work for us all.
