Looks way better with the stock wheels. What kind of calibers did you put on it ?
ford replacements on the rear.
and yeah i know but not getting lowered till the driveway is redone. it already tried to rip the exhaust off.
next up is long tubes, h pipe a cai then off to brian for a tune. but. what ya guys think. chads turbo kit for it? or eaton swap?

so been enjoying the cobra for the most part. lol. had a few things go wrong but that was brought on by me. exploded the rear end. fun, not
but got a new center section for it and all good to go. ( was able to find one for cheap that was just built so i went that route ) got a set of factory cobra wheels for it. while i did the rear end went ahead and did the whole rear brakes. hoses, calibers, rotors, pads. ordered everything for the front as well. should be here on friday for it. after that its gonna get a full exhasut. long tubes and catless h pipe. its all stock minus the stage 2 clutch and the flowmaster cat back. also i put in a steeda clutch cable and quardrent last week. but not for much longer!
also found out its production number, very low. number 345 of 4040
took some pics and had some fun.

ryan, drop it all off, with a complete install kit from jegs too!
just bringing you the center section alright?

My name is Chris and I drive a Mazdaspeed 3. It has and is being worked on by IPS Motorsports and Applied Tuning. If your looking for a great local tuning shop check these guys out. I know Applied is very big in the Subi world and IPS always has something sweet in their shop. I see a lot of Corvettes there.
i deliverd a pizza to a woman and saw that car in the driveway wonderd who owned it. nice car.
-
It's just like doing an exploder, I've put gears in a lot of them without a spreader. It takes less pinion preload and more side bearing predload.
what about putting a new differental in them as well?
-
i wish i knew for sure if i had to have the housing spreader for this.
you will need a bearing shim kit.
if you can find out and let me know ill bring it to ya.
-
i really dont feel like messing mine up so id rather pay someone who knows what their doing to do it.
i can either pull the center sections out of the car and bring the center section to you or i can trailer the whole car to you. it can not be driven though. even rolling the car makes the rear end bind.
its aa 99 cobra so its a IRS.
still have 28 spline axles. i can either bring the parts to you to install if you let me know what all i need to get. at the moment i just have a ring and pinion for it. i can go and grab a new differential from jegs and a install kit and such or if your able to get a better deal on that part then what jegs wants for it ill just bring ya the ring a pinion.
and btw Jegs on west broad is closing down
trying to have the car back on the road by this weekend.
thanks.

these wheels are no where near perfect so im not looking for perfect wheels. would just like something i can trade stright up for. these have basically brand new tires on them
illg et some close up pictures tomm of them but there is like brake dust caked on in the corners? im not sure of a good way to get that to come off but ill try if someone can tell me.
99/01 cobra wheels or 03/04 cobra wheels is what im wanting.

Would this rear end work in your car Ryan?
yes but the mark VIII are open dif.
i got a set of gears for it just probaly going to spend the 200 and order a dif from ford racing then get a shim kit and pay someone to install these.
-
Ryan buy a used complete center from a tbird and save the cash toward 31spline stuff
find me one then lol. that or bring me a SRA and take this IRS junk away!
-
are 99 cobras 28spline? have you considered a 31 spline upgrade?
yes there 28. and yeah but for right now i dont feel like spending the extra money. i just need my car back on the road.
-
i need one of these. anyone have one? or any of the vendors able to get them in for a better price for me?

call me asap. my buddy wants the whole truck
-
whats the deal with having no title?
-
the issue with the irs center's is , i dont have the tool to do them.
from my under standing, you have to have a tool to spread the housing apart to put the gears in!
but as far as a gear install kit is for sure needed. im just not sure if you have to spread the housing or not.
it would make since. being alum they would shrink?
-
not really.
i cant find a listing on there site. but a use one on ebay is 500.00
what all tools will i need to buy to set up the gear rob?
-
I have 4.10's comin out of my 8.8 you can have for 50 bucks
i dont really wanna be turning 3,000+ on the highway. wanna either factory 3.27 or 3.55. but ill keep that in mind
-
you should be able to pick up a 3.55 complete center section new from frpp.
sounds expensiveeeeeeeeee
