Sportbike Track Time August 24/25 Grattan
RidersDiscount replied to blue03636's topic in Track is Crack
Grattan track report - The track is super slick right now due to new sealer surface and vintage race cars spitting oil all over last weekend. Joey could barely manage a :24 when the last time he was here he was pushing into the :18s. So slick in fact that we're cancelling the remaining test days and hoping for rain (which is in the forecast) before this coming STT weekend to wash the track. If you are riding, take extreme caution the first few sessions. -
One of the most popular graphics made available for the AGV GP-Tech was the replica of Valentino Rossi’s 5-Continents, and it is now available on the affordable K3. The 5-Continents design was first debuted in 2008 and was his go-to graphic through 2010. The Aldo Drudi design features the sun and moon motif, only with a shift to the sun being on the front, with the rays extending rearward toward the moon at the back. Each sun-ray represents a different continent and incorporates different design elements from each one. Continents represented include Australia, Africa, Asia, Europe and the Americas.

Wasn't able to squeeze it in the budget this month unfortunately. I'm shooting for the next Grattan event which I believe is in a few weeks. -

Oh it's fun. Don't ride like a total yahoo, listen to what your coach says, apply what your coach says, don't ride out of your comfort level, you'll be fine.

MotoGP bikes are ludicrously expensive marvels of engineering that need to be able to survive a crash. That’s why some turn to GB Racing for protection. We spotted a set on the Aprilia powered CRT machine of Aleix Espargaro at the Indy GP over the weekend, and they had already been put to the test in a high-side during Saturday’s final practice session.

We’ve always used Sharkskinz bodywork on our AMA and project bikes for many reasons. Two of these are the perfect fit and paint-ready finish right out of the box, while a third is something that you hope you don’t have to test - durability. Unfortunately, we have been able to crash test multiple sets of Sharkskinz bodywork. Believe it or not, both of the photos below show the same set of bodywork on one of the Riders Discount Triumph Daytona 675R’s ridden by Joey Pascarella in the AMA Daytona Sportbike series this year. The first shows it looked like after a lowside at roughly 75 MPH during race two at Road America. The second is the same piece after some fiberglass filler and fresh paint. With experience like this, we can say with absolute certainty that it holds up exceedingly well. Get in touch with Nathan at 866.931.6644 ext. 809 to order a set for your bike today! Right after a 75 mph lowside at Road America. The same fairing after some filler and a fresh coat of paint.

Hiking boots for the road, anyone? Alpinestars has you covered with the CR-4 Gore-Tex XCR Boots. These waterproof motorcycle boots are ideal for any rider that likes to ride his bike to distant places and then, hike further off the beaten path. They’re also exceptionally comfortable for work around town and the Gore-Tex waterproof membrane means your feet will stay dry too. Fabricated with a combination of polyurethane-coated leather, suede and textile panels, the CR-4’s look more like hiking boots than riding boots. But, that doesn’t mean protection isn’t built in – two shanks run the length of the sole and extra foam padding has been inserted around the ankles. Plus, a PU-coated leather patch resides just above the toes so shifting won’t wear into them at all. Inside, a breathable mesh liner greets the foot and reinforcements are provided for the toe and heel areas for extra protection. The feet rest atop a comfortable, anatomically-shaped footbed for comfort. As you can see, the spec sheet reads a lot like a high end hiking boot, only better! You can get more information about the CR-4 boots, and any other Alpinestars products on our website, or by getting in touch with Nathan. Contact him through this forum or by calling 866.931.6644 ext. 809. Is email more convenient? Feel free to send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get back to you right away! Alpinestars CR-4 Gore-Tex XCR boots are available in Silver/Anthracite (shown), Anthracite/Red and, of course, Black. A grippy outsole is contoured for surefootedness in wet or drive conditions. Two separate shanks are used within the base for extra protection while still permitting a comfortable range of movement. Strong metal eyelets and two hooks at the top allow you to easily tension your laces. To carry the Gore-Tex name, the equipment in question must be certified by Gore-Tex labs to function as advertised. This assures that the end user receives exactly what’s expected of the equipment in question. Both toes are covered by PU-impregnated leather that’s designed to withstand years of shifting without wearing through.
