  1. Your favorite parts guy is back! For those that do not know me around these parts my name is Mike and I was with Riders Discount from near the beginning. I left about 18 months ago but was lured back and I asked if I could be on one of my favorite forums. TJ and I are going to be working together on the forum. So what did I miss?
  2. The number of AGV helmets with the 46 on them that you can find is never ending, so we’d like to present you with another one – the K-3 Tartaruga, which translates to the Turtle Helmet from AGV. Dogs, people running on its sides, a turtle shell at its top and of course, the number 46 on the aft side - there’s a lot of Valentino in this helmet and it’s all rendered by Drudi Performance. “So, why the turtle?” some may ask. Well, when Vale was a boy, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were a big deal, in Italy too, apparently. Hence, the Tartaruga has been somewhere on Valentino’s gear, or his bike, for ages. With this, you get it right on top of the helmet. But enough about the colors, let’s talk about the K-3 SV helmet. This street-focused lid is built with plenty of ventilation; three adjustable intakes are fitted at the top of the helmet and a nifty tab is fitted front and center at the bottom of the flip-up visor which allows copious quantities of air to move over your face when needed. This is all complimented by a set of exhausts on the back of the helmet that are covered in stainless steel screens. AGV’s Dry-Comfort fabric is fitted inside the helmet for qualified comfort via positive moisture absorption and ventilation assistance. You’ll also find a removable chin skirt right at the front, too. And don’t worry about carrying a smoked visor with you when you head out the door, this helmet comes with a built-in drop-down smoked visor. You only need to push on the red tab on the side of the helmet with your clutch hand to raise or lower this nice feature. Sun up or sun down, you’re ready for the ride! You can order this ECE and DOT approved helmet by calling TJ on 866.931.6644 ext 817, or send a note to forum@ridersdiscount.com with AGV K-3 TARARUGA HELMET in the subject line or just shoot us a PM and we’ll get right back to you.
  3. This has been on the schedule for about a week to be posted today, so it was just good timing on your question this morning.
  4. On or off the bike, SMX-1 R vented boots are the bomb diggity when it comes to versatility and protection, without the shin-high motorcycle boot style. These boots, which are really high-top shoes, provide plenty of protection without making it feel like your feet are in some sort of solitary confinement. You just step into comfort, hit the road or wear ‘em around town as they’re well-suited for all-day use. A perforated, abrasion-resistant material is used on the sides and toebox of these boots while a flexible microfiber mesh material is fitted over the upper portions. The goal here is the delivery of copious quantities of cooling air as these are purpose-built hot weather riding boots. To protect these materials from excessive wear, thermoplastic polyurethane panels are fitted on the shifter area and all around the heel counter. For those of you that corner low, replaceable toe sliders are fitted as standard. At the bottom, your feet will float on Alpinestars’ specification road-going rubber. This hard-wearing material keeps your feet firmly placed on the bike while permitting plenty of flexibility when you’re afoot around town. Further conspiring to provide a comfortable fit are the EVA foam and Lyrca-made footbeds above which a soft, anatomically-shaped liner pulls sweat and moisture off your feet. Most convenient of all, there are no shoelaces to get caught in the chain here, just zip in and lock the simple Velcro closure that pushes your entire foot inside the boots in a secure, reliable manner. Available in black as well as colored varieties, these boots will become a versatile part of your riding loadout! You can order these gloves and take advantage of expert sizing advice by calling TJ on 866.931.6644 ext 817, sending us a PM or a note to forum@ridersdiscount.com with ALPINESTARS SMX-1R VENTED BOOTS in the subject line and we’ll get back to you right away.
  5. An extremely adept riding glove, the Patron Gore-Tex model from Alpinestars is a wise choice for the long-distance, all-weather motorcyclist. It’s built using a combination leather, synthetic suede surrounding a breathable Gore-Tex membrane. The design provides plenty of protection in a weather-proof design for riding anywhere, wet or dry. A lot of the features found on the Italian company’s top-of-the-line racing gloves are built into the glove. Things like a hard knuckles, which are hidden under leather, sewn-together third and fourth finger bridges and flexible polyurethane-covered palms all come from that line of thinking. These design elements look after the safety and protection of your finders. Then, there are the truly functional aspects of these gloves that you’ll appreciate. Things like built-in visor wipe on the index fingers, touch-screen compatible finger tips and the reflective sashes fitted on the index and middle fingers. These little features might not sound like much, but will be highly appreciated out on the road. For the long-distance, all-weather rider, we encourage you to add a set of Patron Gore-Tex gloves to your load-out. You won’t be disappointed! You can order these gloves and take advantage of expert sizing advice by calling TJ on 866.931.6644 ext 817, sending us a PM or a note to forum@ridersdiscount.com with ALPINESTARS PATRON GORETEX GLOVES in the subject line and we’ll get back to you right away.
  6. A comfortable boot for the all-around rider, SMX-S motorcycle boots provide a nice balance of safety, comfort and value in a not-too-flashy style. Many of Alpinestars’ standard safety features are incorporated in these street-focused boots: hard shin plates, replaceable toe sliders and tough heel counters. All of this is attached to an abrasion-resistant micro-fiber chassis that lets your feet move freely when you’re off the bike. Ensuring longevity, these boots come fitted with a shift pad on top of the toes, thereby preventing that part of your bike from rubbing through the boot. On the opposite, bottom-facing side, Alpinestars’ proprietary rubber sole provides a connected feel to the bike through the pegs while at the same time, proving to be surprisingly durable. They simply go the distance, so you can expect to keep wearing these boots for a long, long time. Getting in and out of the boots is easy, too. On the medial-facing side of each one, secreted behind a flap, is a full-length zipper that opens into an MTP mesh liner on the inside of the boot. This liner allows your feet to breath, in what would otherwise be a stale air environment, while at the same time, holding your feet firmly in place when you hit the road. You can order these boots and take advantage of expert sizing advice by calling TJ on 866.931.6644, sending us a PM or a note to forum@ridersdiscount.com with ALPINESTARS SMX-S BOOTS in the subject line, just be sure to specify the what size sneakers you wear and whether or not you want the waterproof version - and we’ll get back to you right away.

  8. There are few leather jackets with this much ventilation, making it an ideal choice for any street rider that wants the protection of leather without giving up much in the way of cooling comfort. Almost the entire SP-1 Airflow’s chassis is perforated: chest, back and arms, too! About the only places that aren’t perforated are those where maximum protection is required, or where doing so provides no appreciable ventilation benefit. Mainly, the elbows and shoulders, where the underlying armor would prevent air from moving through, and the very sides of the jacket, remain un-fenestrated. Lots of air is gonna move over your body when you’re zipped into an SP-1 Airflow jacket! Inside, you get Alpinestars’ standard fixed mesh inner liner so you to move about freely within the jacket. This is done by keeping your skin away from the inside-facing leather of the jacket. And, it must be said, this material helps cooling air move over the skin, too. As is standard on the modern road-going jacket, CE-approved armor is fitted in the elbows and shoulders. There are also pockets to add optional chest and back armor as well, something we can most certainly help you out with to achieve maximum protection. At the base of the jacket, you can even zip in a set of compatible riding pants from Alpinestars, too! The jacket is cut in a pattern that’s suitable for cruisers and fast bikes alike, so you only need to keep one jacket in the closet even though you may have a few different bikes in the garage Available in a range of sizes, be sure to get the correct one to fit you by calling TJ on 866.931.6644 ext. 817, send a note to forum@ridersdiscount.com with ALPINESTARS SP-1 AIRFLOW JACKET in the subject line, or just shoot us a PM and we’ll get back to you right away.
  9. Designed from the neck up for the road-going rider, the Signet-X helmet from Arai applied their decades of experience building some of the best helmets in the world to an every-day helmet. Starting with the helmet’s interior shape, the long oval, Arai is the only manufacturer that we know of who does this – the shape is designed for maximum comfort in a rider that isn’t pleased with a near-enough fit. It’s a little longer front-to-back while at the same time, a little narrower than most helmet shapes on the market today. This shape is housed inside Arai’s super complex laminate shell, the same materials used on their top-of-the-line helmets, to impart a high degree of protection to the wearer. Integrated into the shell, ventilation is carefully provided fore and aft to perform optimally at typical road-going speeds. With the Signet-X, you can dial in just the right amount of air movement using three levels of opening for the chin intake and exhaust on the back top of the head. Furthermore, the intakes on top of the scalp have no detents to them, so you can perfectly dial in ventilation as needed. This feature alone can only be fully appreciated when the weather is a bit on the cooler side since these intakes draw in a lot of air. Now, you don’t have to choose between sweating and freezing, just adjust as needed with your gloved hands and ride on. At the chin, a three-way closeable intake is fitted as standard, this can be opened to either divert air upwards and assist in keeping a fog-free view of the road ahead, or at a second adjustment point, move air straight towards the jaw for maximum cooling. And directly below that, for when road conditions turn especially dirty or the skies open up, the included chin curtain keeps your face clean and dry. This stops just about all of the debris inevitably get sucked up behind the faceshield. It’s also pretty nice to have if you get caught out in especially cold temperatures. That brings us to the helmet’s liner, Arai’s anti-microbial, fully-removable liner is comfort defined. Properly size (talk to TJ about that!), your head will be surrounded by an illustrious combination of cheek pads, scalp insert, chin strap liners and a neck roll that almost disappears when you put it on. Plus, even though it does stay fresh longer than lesser liners, it can easily be removed to be washed and refreshed as needed. A clear, quick-change shield comes standard with each Signet-X helmet, and smoked versions are available as well. Plus, you get a Pinlock lens as well that’s ready to install. Fog will never be a problem with this affixed to your faceshield. For the street rider, there’s little left to be desired in a helmet! For expert sizing guidance and lightning-fast shipping, call TJ on 866.931.6644 ext. 817, send a note to forum@ridersdiscount.com with ARAI SIGNET-X HELMET in the subject line, or just shoot us a PM and we’ll get back to you right away.

  11. One for the money, two for the road, three to get ready and four … it’s raining! Stella Sektor waterproof motorcycle shoes are where it’s at for the female all-weather rider. These shoes come in a lithe shape that’s specifically engineered for the smaller proportions of a woman’s foot. In this way, comfort and security is assured. Comfort is derived from a breathable, yet waterproof, 3D mesh liner on the inside with flexible areas on the heel and instep. These features assure easy walking without compromising safety. The shoes, which are CE category 2 certified, are built with an integrated shank in the sole above which an armored toebox and heel counter are fitted. This rigid components are almost unnoticeable when you’re out and about. It’s all held to the foot using conventional shoelaces that are secured under a Velcro strap at the top of the ankle. For the sake of durable longevity, the shoes are fitted with a shift pad atop the toes and toe sliders for the aggressive rider. It’s all sat atop an Alpinestars-specific rubber sole formula that’s gripping in the wet, yet strong enough to avoid getting chewed up by the footpegs, or miles of walking. To be sure of a perfect fit, give TJ a call on 866.931.6644 ext 817 for expert guidance. Or, just send a note to forum@ridersdiscount.com with ALPINESTARS STELLA SEKTOR RIDING SHOES in the subject line and we’ll get back to you promptly.
  12. Total performance with plenty of ventilation that’s built specifically for the serious female rider, this jacket from Alpinestars rightly belongs in the Stella lineup. Stretch panels, CE-approved armor inserts and perforated premium 1.3mm thick cowhide give you the perfect summer jacket that doesn’t compromise on comfort, or protection. The GP Plus R V2 Airflow jacket was built for the serious female street rider that wants a full leather chassis, without the full-leather sweat. You’ll find surgically-positioned perforation on the abdomen, arms and upper chest. These, of course, bring plenty of cooling air inside the jacket as you cruise down the road. It’s all shaped for the female form, too. Under all of this you’ll find a 3D mesh inner liner which allows you to move about freely within the jacket. This is done by keeping your skin away from the inside-facing leather of the jacket, which, in addition to the free movement it allows, also keeps you cooler, too. 13. Starting from within, each X-Fourteen helmet is fashioned around a highly-engineered, fully-removable comfort liner and cheek pads. These pieces effectively pull moisture off your head and keep you cool while you make way through the apex, or the toll booth. The (now-standard) emergency quick release system EQRS cheek pads allow for, not only a secure fit of the helmet, but also a faster, safer removal of the lid should the rider need careful attention after a crash. All of this is snuggled inside a dual-layer, multi-density EPS foam liner that absorbs impact energy in a fall, while effectively aiding in the delivery of cooling air straight to the scalp. For maximum safety, helmet sizing is critical, that’s why Shoei employs four different shell sizes in the X-Fourteen range to fit extra-small to XX-large heads. The shell itself, which uses six layers of hand-laid, varying materials, provides the right mix of rigidity and flexibility not typically seen in a fiberglass helmet, or that of a plastic shell. The result is a SNELL-approved helmet that almost certainly looks like it’s been developed in a wind tunnel (it was!). The shape is carefully engineered to provide effective rider ventilation without calling into question safety. Riders that spend a lot of time at the track will appreciate the minimal buffeting at speed in a helmet that doesn’t push the head around as much as lesser designs. And that brings us to the helmet’s design. Shoei continues to roll out the designs as much as Marquez and the staff at Dave Designs in Spain come up with the various new designs as the season rolls along. That brings us to the Concept Black TC-1 here – which is basically a negative of the helmet most commonly found on Marc’s head during the 2018 season. Ffirst introduced on 27 January 2018 ahead of MotoGP’s preseason testing, the helmet’s graphics are typical Shoei quality, the decals are perfectly straight, and the design is striking. Each helmet ships with extras: a lower air spoiler, Pinlock visor cover, breather guard, chin curtain and helmet back. For expert sizing guidance and lightning-fast shipping, call TJ on 866.931.6644 ext. 817, send a note to forum@ridersdiscount.com with SHOEI BRINK HELMET in the subject line, or just shoot us a PM and we’ll get back to you right away.
