  1. Well bike 1 is running and now to finish up bike 2! In the meantime what do you guys think of Joey's custom Speed and Strength suit designed by yours truly?
  2. Both bikes are now equipped with their Akrapovic exhausts are nearly ready to be fired up for the first time since we received the motors.
  3. Alpinestars has some new lady suits coming out that should meet this criteria. We'll have a review posted when they do.
  4. Nathan here In terms of comparing the 12 vs the 13: the 13 has a shorter stroke, 2mm larger bore, and increased compression along with a lightweight crankshaft and alternator.
  5. Our forks were reworked with K-Tech internals, and they arrived yesterday. This allowed us to get the front end back together. Note the allowing us to get the front end put back together. This included a quick change front axle from Fast Frank Racing to match the rear. Up top, Renthal Clip-on bars were fitted, along with a Motion Pro quick turn throttle and Brembo master cylinder. The tanks will be coming in from Andrew Swenson Design tomorrow morning, so everything underneath needs to go into place.
  6. We’ve been a big believer in Renthal Road Racing Clip-On handlebars ever since they became available, and we’ve used them on many of our bikes since then. These premium clip-ons include clamps which are machined from billet aluminum, as well as lightweight aluminum handlebars. Renthal didn’t only make them lightweight and durable, they also added marks on both components in order make aligning them a breeze. Renthal clip-ons are currently available 50mm - 53mm sizes, and you get order a set by calling Nathan at 866.931.6644 ext. 809. You can also get more information by sending a message through this forum, or sending an email to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get right back to you! Laser etched markings make alignment and setup easy. We’ve been using Renthal Clip-ons on our own bikes for years. Here they are pictured on one of our Triumph 675 project bikes.
  7. Marquez's ant mascot isn't only found in the cartoon style character on the back of the helmet - a more stylized take on the ant motif is found covering the top of the lid as well.
  8. Check out this race start as he tears through the field from last place - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xrQ5JJ49BE This would be the WERA Heavyweight solo with plenty of other built 1000cc superbikes in play with notable AMA Pro regulars. He was in the lead for most of the race but dropped to 2nd when his tires fell off pace.
  9. Those Rocky Mountains sure are flat.
  10. The schedule should be live on STT's site and I believe when I glanced a few weeks ago it was cw on Sat and ccw on Sundays for most of the season. The track is one of the more difficult tracks in the country based on what some of our pro riders we bring in to test have to say. But it is also one the more fun tracks as it feels like you're driving your own rollercoaster with the sweeps and drops. My parents live in the Beavercreek area and it's about 4.5-5 hours to Grand Rapids and about 20-30 minutes to the track beyond that. I don't have any hotel recommendations as we are based too close, sorry.
  11. Everyday sneakers that can be ridden in - that’s clearly what Alpinestars was going for when they designed the brand new Joey shoes, and they definitely hit the mark. The Alpinestars Joey shoes may not come equipped with track-ready protection, but they do offer more than a standard pair of shoes. Dual-density ankle protectors and reinforcements in both the toe and heel provide lightweight protection without making them feel clunky, stiff or heavy. Alpinestars offers the Joey shoes in two versions, standard and WP (waterproof). The Joey WP shoes feature a wax treatment on the outer shell and a waterproof membrane lining that helps keep water out while remaining breathable. Both the standard and WP also share a plush, airy mesh lining on the collar and tongue to aid in keeping your feet comfortable. If you’re interested in a pair of Alpinestars Joey shoes, just give Nathan a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 809 or contact him through this forum. You can also feel free to send and email to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get right back to you! The Alpinestars Joey WP shoes are available in Black... And Black/Yellow, which comes with a set of black laces in the box if you want to dial down the yellow. (We haven’t received the standard version of the Joey shoes at the time of this post, but we will have photos as soon as they arrive.) The Joey WP features a wax outer coating and waterproof, breathable internal membrane. Both have a comfortable and airy mesh lining on the tongue and collar. MSRP: Waterproof - $159.95 Standard - $139.95
  12. WSBK confirmed on Current station for 2013. That's 66% good news, unless you don't have that station then it's back to 33%. Speed is broadcasting the Daytona 200, so then that's like 37% good news.
  13. MotoGP is confirmed on Speed for the duration of the 2013 season.
  14. We just posted the new Shoei X-12 Marc Marquez replica, so it’s only appropriate that we also bring you the newest helmet from his Arai sponsored, Repsol teammate, Dani Pedrosa. New for 2013, Arai has just released a red version of the Corsair-V Dani-3 helmet from last spring. The striking red, white and black pattern is a great addition to the Arai Corsair-V line, and unlike some racer replica designs, this one doesn’t have prominent branding for the rider. The only reference to Pedrosa is a very subtle “26” hidden in the stripes on top of the helmet. If you’re interested in the new Arai Corsair-V Dani-3 Red, or the original Corsair-V Dani-3 Blue, you can order yours by giving Nathan a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 809. If email is more convenient for you, feel free to send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM for a quick reply. The new Arai Corsair-V Dani-3 Red is shown here with an optional Dark Smoke shield. The only reference to Dani Pedrosa on the helmet is a very subtle “26” in the stripes on each upper vent. The original Dani-3 Blue is still available as well.
  15. We have some great deals going on in helmets. The Corsair V is a different shape than most of the other helmets mentioned here, if you've tried it on and are comfortable with it then that is a good start. But if you haven't tried one on yet, I would recommend finding a place to make sure it fits you first. MS accepts Snell, BS, and ECE rated helmets.
  16. No but it does make it easier to drag your elbow.
  17. Here's the easy way to find out what channel it will be on - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Current_TV (top right hand column)
  18. One of the most talked about additions to the MotoGP paddock for 2013 is the young Spaniard, Marc Marquez. Fresh off of his Moto2 championship-winning season, the premier-class rookie has already impressed during the first official pre-season at Sepang with solid lap-times and amazing lean angles. He was also sporting a new helmet design on his Shoei X-12 - a design that is now available from Riders Discount. You can get a Shoei X-12 Marquez replica of your own by giving Nathan a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 809, or by contacting him through this forum. Is email more convenient? Feel free to send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get back to you right away! The Shoei X-12 Marquez helmet comes with a clear shield, and is shown here with the optional Dark Smoke version.
