RidersDiscount.com AMA SuperSport Suzuki GSX-R600 Build
RidersDiscount replied to RidersDiscount's topic in Sponsors
Last spring, we decided to take a brand new Suzuki GSX-R600 and build it to AMA SuperSport specifications. The majority of the work was completed over a three day period at the RidersDiscount.com HQ, where we streamed it live on the web so that anyone could check in on the build as it progressed. We also took plenty of photos that we thought we’d share with everyone here, whether you caught the live-stream or not. The starting point was a brand new, 2012 GSX-R600. Here’s how it looked for a very short time before we went to work tearing it down. And here’s the finished product. A lot of work went into the bike between those two photos, and we’ll be giving you a more detailed look at the process very soon. In the meantime, here’s a timelapse of the build from start to finish. (click the photo below if the animated gif doesn't load automatically for you) -
Are you referring to the hump after the bowl or the dip midway through the sweeper? I have been upshifting in the transition from left to right lean after the bowl, but did not know I could push it near WOT. Interesting and something more to try.

AGV GP-Tech Marco Simoncelli Tribute Helmet
RidersDiscount replied to RidersDiscount's topic in Sponsors
Did we mention that AGV includes a free t-shirt with each GP-Tech Simoncelli Tribute helmet? -
Ah ok, that makes sense. Now I've just gotta wait four months to try it.
-
The initial hump after the bowl or halfway through the turn?
-
The hardest corner I deal with is the long right hand sweeper going into the bus stop at Grattan (CW). With the elevation changes, bumps, etc., I never seem to know how much throttle I can apply. But then I see other guys just railing it around that turn, is this sweeper not as hard as I'm making it?

As a tribute to the late Marco Simoncelli, AGV has now released an updated replica of the GP-Tech helmet he wore in MotoGP. Since the new helmet is a replica of his MotoGP graphic, it features his number 58 on the forehead and the San Carlo logo on the chin. The previous model was based off of his 2009 helmet which sported a number 1 from the 250cc championship win the year before. Each side has the familiar leopard print running around the bottom portion, before leading to his leopard logo on the back. Let Nathan know if you’re interested in the AGV GP-Tech Marco Simoncelli replica, or any other AGV helmet, by sending him a PM or giving him a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 809. You can also feel free to send an email to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get right back to you! The AGV GP-Tech Simoncelli is shown here with an optional dark smoke shield.

One thing I've been trying to figure out/work on is how much and how soon can I start to apply the throttle?

Graves exhaust systems have always been designed from the ground up for maximum performance. Developed using the same technology that helped Josh Hayes win three AMA Superbike championships in a row, the new LINK Titanium exhaust system is no different. As a complete kit, the LINK system not only helps you extract the maximum amount of power from your R1, but it also saves you nearly 13 pounds of weight (compared to the 11 pounds saved by the previous Graves Ti system). These weight savings come thanks to the aerospace grade titanium alloy construction of all the pipes and a pair of newly designed diamond shaped carbon fiber canisters. Graves designed the new canisters in a way that allows them to mount directly to the subframe, which eliminates the need for straps and adds to the new streamlined look. The Graves LINK exhausts are sold as complete kits, and as partial systems. This means that you can start with just the components that fit your budget/specific performance requirements, and build up to a full system as you go. You can do this without having to worry about compatibility as well, since each part is compatible with either the stock or other LINK exhaust components. If you’re interested in a Graves LINK Titanium full exhaust system, just the cat-back slip-ons, or anything in-between, be sure to give Nathan a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 809. Is email more convenient? Feel free to send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get back to you right away! The full Graves LINK Titanium exhaust system comes with everything pictured, plus instructions and hardware. All components are available. Including the new carbon fiber canisters, which can be ordered as either cat-back slip-ons or cat-eliminating slip-ons with the link pipe. The cat-eliminating link pipe can be ordered individually or bundled with the slip-ons. It features two sensor ports - one for the stock O2 sensor, and the second for an auto-tuning product like those from Power Commander and Bazzaz.

Whether you’re looking for an upgrade over the stock gauges, or need a set for a custom application, the Koso RX-2N GP Style Dash is a great option. This dash comes packed with features and includes everything you need to wire it up to many bikes and other motor vehicles. (Note: This dash is not compatible with bikes that use CAN Bus wiring harnesses, and may have issues with some newer fuel injected bikes.) The RX-2N displays your bike’s data using a combination of a analog and digital readouts. The tach is a large, easy to read illuminated gauge that uses a ring of red LED lights to show the current RPM, as well as the needle. The second, digital readout functions as the speedometer and odometer, while also having the ability to display data like temperatures, fuel level, trip distance, max speed, time and date. In addition to these main displays, there are a variety of other programmable lights. A large shift light sits on the top right corner of the tach, which can be set to this can be set to the RPM of your choice. Other programmable lights include temperature warning (oil and water), speed warning, time and date. Koso products are not yet listed on our website, but you can order yours by calling Nathan at 866.931.6644 ext. 809, or by sending him a PM through the forum. If email is more convenient for you, feel free to send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get back to you right away! The Koso RX-2N comes with everything shown here, plus instructions and stickers. The kit includes the gauge itself, universal wiring harness, speed sensor, temperature sensors, wire connectors and mounting hardware. This is the 20000 RPM version, but it is also available in 10000 RPM.

Whether you’re traveling to a track, trail, or a favorite stretch of road, it’s incredibly frustrating to arrive at your destination, only to realize that you left a piece of your riding gear at home. One easy way to avoid this is to keep it all together in a large gearbag like the Ogio Tanker 9600. Within its 9600 cubic inch capacity you’ll find room for just about everything: gloves, helmet, leathers, undersuit, back protector, boots and a lot more. The 600 Denier PVC bag is placed atop Ogio’s trademark Structural Load Equalizing Deck (SLED) to provide rigidity and extra protection for whatever you have stored inside. As an added bonus, the rigid design makes handling the bag easier with smartly-placed grab handles. For long-distance hauling on foot, a retractable handle at one end of the bag is paired with a set of large wheels at the other so you can easily roll it with you. A single, large opening makes accessing your gear easy and the lid features a separate large compartment that’s perfect for motorcycle boots. There is also a pair of external compression straps that allow you to cinch the bag’s contents in place so nothing within can shift while you’re on the move. This helps provide a little more protection for the gear that protects you. You can read more about this bag on our website, then call Nathan at 866.931.6644 ext. 809 to order. We also accept PM’s through the forum and emails – send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get back to you right away! The Ogio Tanker 9600 is a bag that can suit all your motorcycle gear needs since it can easily carry everything you wear on the bike. Keeping everything in one place makes staying it easier to stay organized, and gives you one less thing to worry about when you head out for a weekend at the track. The main compartment easily fits a helmet, suit, back protector and gloves, with room to spare. A zippered compartment in the top gives you a place to put boots, or any other gear you want to bring with you. The lower wheeled side of Ogio’s SLED chassis serves not only to create a rigid base, but also adds a degree of protection for those times when your bag may encounter an over-enthusiastic baggage handler. Plus, a rail is molded into the upper portion to make grabbing onto the bag easy. Large durable zippers are fitted with equally large tassels which get along nicely with gloved hands. Two of these heavy duty compression straps reach across the top and allow you to cinch everything securely into place. We may have quite a few of these in stock right now, but we expect them to go quick to go quick!

I've seen quite a few of these videos pop up lately. Does it not ruin your trans/transfer case?

Sidi quality and style in an affordable, casual riding shoe? Sounds good to us. The Sidi SDS New York is a new offering from the Italian brand that is designed with the basics in mind. The New York is a casual and low-cut riding shoe that pairs as well with jeans as it does with riding pants. The leather upper is interspersed with nylon mesh panels that help your feet stay cool in warm weather. A velcro strap and sturdy lacing system work together to provide a snug fit, while a quality insole with removable arch support keep things comfortable inside the shoe. Outside, a durable, non-slip rubber sole helps keep you planted on the ground or the foot pegs. Let Nathan if you’re interested in the Sidi SDS New York, or any other pair of Sidi boots, and he’ll be happy to help. You can give him a call at 866.931.6644 ext. 809, or send him a PM through the forum. If email is more convenient, feel free to send one to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get back to you right away! Ventilation is not a problem, thanks to the nylon mesh. A reflective piece on the back of each shoe is subtle, but nice and visible while on the bike.

Here you can see that the shoulder took a big hit that was absorbed primarily by the stainless steel/TPU slider. The seam wasn't touched at all. -
Randy Mamola may not be actively racing anymore, but he is still very active within the sport. Throughout 2012, he was frequently seen piloting the two-seat Ducati Desmosedici at MotoGP events, as well as taking a parade lap at the Isle of Man. It was at this event that his newest design for the Arai Corsair-V was revealed. The Aldo Drudi design maintains a similar red, black, and white pattern, but with some additional modern flair. Interested in this, or any other Arai helmet? Nathan is here to provide you with more information and expert sizing advice, so feel free to get in touch with him through the forum or by calling 866.931.6644 ext. 809. If email is more convenient, go ahead and send those to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM and we’ll get back to you right away!

Attack Performance Adjustable Offset Triple Clamps have been the go-to triple clamps for many AMA Pro Road Racing teams for years. And, why not? They’re one of the best choices you can make when it comes to improving front end feel on your motorcycle. That’s because, unlike raising or lowering forks in the triple clamps, or changing the length of the wheelbase, adjusting offset only changes front end trail significantly. This allows the rider to tune the feel of the front end without affecting other areas of the bike’s handling. This is a real advantage for preparing an ideal setup as other sacrifices to stability or corner exit grip don’t have to be made just to improve front end feel! Attack Performance triple clamps for the ZX-10R come installed with most commonly used offset. This provides the club racer or the avid trackday rider with an excellent starting point to achieving quicker turn-in response and better mid-corner feel without making the front end nervous or unstable. Best of all, unlike other aftermarket triple clamps, different offsets are available to suit different setup preferences or to retain the same front end trail when switching to tires that are of a different size. Changing offset is easy as it does not require the complete removal of your bike’s forks. Simply loosen the steering stem nut and the pinch bolts that hold the offsets in place. Swap them out, tighten everything to spec and you’re ready to ride! Attack Performance triple clamps are hard-anodized for a durable, long-lasting finish that looks fantastic on any ZX-10R. Every kit is precision CNC-machined from billet aluminum alloy with strategically placed gussets to make them light yet more rigid than the OEM triple clamps they replace. These are not yet available on our website, call Nathan at 866.931.6644 ext. 809 to get these Attack triple clamps shipped to you fast. If you prefer, send an email to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM with ATTACK TRIPLE CLAMPS in the subject line and we’ll get back to you right away. Attack Performance triple clamps are available two finishes - Black and Silver. The most commonly used offset comes installed. Additional offsets are available and can be adjusted in minutes without removing the entire front end of the motorcycle. We consider Attack’s machining to be art. What about you?
