The parts bin keeps growing as the day goes on. Time for the stock exhaust to go... ... And it’s gone. Proper tools make jobs like this a whole lot easier. Stock Brembo's up front? Yes, please. They won't be going anywhere. Grinding down the rivets makes removing the masterlink for the chain quick and easy. The throttle bodies are one of the last pieces to be taken off before the motor can be pulled. Getting closer...

Rigid Industries is known for producing extremely bright LED lights for a variety of motor vehicle applications, as well as a small, handheld flashlight that packs a big punch. This flashlight is called the Halo, and it may only be roughly the size of a Mini Maglight, but it’s capable of putting out 10 times the amount of light. The Rigid Industries Halo flashlight uses bright and efficient LED that produces 800 raw lumens on the highest setting, which means that it can project its beam for nearly 1000 feet. Other settings include medium, low, strobe and even an SOS strobe that flashes SOS in morse code. Power comes from a long lasting lithium ion battery which can provide up to three hours of light. The Halo is not only bright, but also extremely tough. It features a black anodized aluminum case that is both impact and water resistant. This combination of brightness, durability, and a compact size make it perfect for just about any location, whether it’s packed with you on a ride, in your car/truck, or in the home. If you’re interested in the Rigid Industries Halo Flashlight, contact MIKE through the forum or by calling 866.931.6644 ext. 804. Teknic has updated their popular Xcelerator suit for 2013. At first glance, the new Xcelerator looks quite similar to the outgoing version, but it is a definite step up. Using race experience and input from AMA Pro Superbike champ, Josh Hayes, Teknic made a number of changes that make this a better suit all around. Like before, the majority of the new Teknic Xcelerator suit is constructed using kangaroo leather. This is because kangaroo is much more abrasion resistant than standard cowhide, meaning that thinner material can be used. The result is a suit that is 30% lighter and much more supple from the start. One thing they did change in the overall construction was the cut. The new Xcelerator has more pre-curve, making it a much more comfortable when you’re in the riding position. Adding to the comfort is a large amount of expansion panels - both Kevlar and the accordion leather type. Teknic beefed up these stretch areas by not only switching to a stronger Kevlar material for 2013, but by layering the leather over the stretch material where they meet as well. A leather curtain was also added behind the stretch panel in the lower back. Impact protection comes from CE certified armor in the shoulders, elbows and knees. The shoulders and elbows are both capped with aluminum sliders which are set into molded protectors and backed by energy absorbing foam. Pads can only protect the intended joints when they are lined up properly, which is why Teknic gave the elbow and knee armor a unique velcro system which allows you to easily adjust their position. Beyond the visible armor, there are also pockets of memory foam found throughout the suit to protect areas like the collarbone, chest, thighs, and tailbone. Overall, the new Teknic Xcelerator suit is comfortable, safe, and packs a lot of features for its price. If you’re interested in this, or any other Teknic product, you can get expert sizing advice and place an order by getting in touch with Nathan through the forum, or by calling 866.931.6644 ext. 809. Is email more convenient? Feel free to send one to FORUM at RIDERSDISCOUNT dot COM for a quick response. The 2013 Teknic Xcelerator is available in two colors - Black/White (pictured), and White/Black/Red (photos coming soon). Plenty of stretch panels, along with the new, more pre-curved cut, help make the Xcelerator very comfortable in the riding position. Aluminum sliders protect the elbows and shoulders. They are set into molded protectors and backed by energy absorbing foam. The use of kangaroo leather makes for a lighter and more flexible suit.

Continuing with the new RF-1100 models, today we have the Glacier. This graphic is an interested mix of a stealthy matte finish and high visibility accents. The majority of the helmet is matte black, but breaking this up are two neon yellow stripes running from front to back. It’s a simple, yet effective design.
