As per usual, the Arai Corsair V helmet offers outstanding ventilation in a Snell M2010 certified design.

For the consummate collector, it is possible to remove the regulatory approval sticker at the bottom of the helmet so the whole logo shows through.

We’ve heard a lot of good things about GB Racing case covers and their damage mitigation properties for a long time, even before we picked up the brand. And, we’ve heard many of our own customers praise the product too. Well, now we’ve been able to test them out for ourselves on our Triumph 675 Project Bike and we’re happy to report that we’re very pleased with their performance too! Our rider was entering the Monza Bowl at Grattan Raceway when the front let go (suddenly!) and put the bike on its ear at about 40-50 mp/h. The washout slammed the 675 hard onto its left side, which put a big dent in the fuel tank, bent the subframe, broke off the footpeg and smashed up the tail section quite a bit. Despite all of that, the GB Racing stator cover protector did its job by absorbing much of the impact energy and prevented the pavement from coming into contact with the OEM stator case cover.

See for yourself. There were no scrapes or damage left on the OEM cover, only the GB unit had obvious crash damage.

A look at the inside of the case saver reveals no penetration, stress fracture or deformation from the crash.

Approved for use in dozens of professional race organizations and seen often on Moto2 bikes, it’s clear the long glass-filled nylon protector is engineered for crash performance. And even though our example would likely still be useful in another crash, we opted to replace this cover with a new one. Replacement is easy too, since you’re not breaking into the engine cases, there’s no oily mess and no need to worry about pinching gaskets. All in all, GB Racing makes a fantastic crash protection product in our book!

The FIM-approved components are manufactured using injection molded engineering-grade long glass filled nylon 6.6 (LGFN 60%). In fact, injection molded LGFN 60% has 4.6x greater tensile strength and 6x greater impact strength when compared to Delrin motorcycle parts! All secondary case covers come with A2 stainless steel socket cap bolts and Class 12.8 steel hex head bolts. The 12.8 hex head bolts are bright zinc plated and then de-embrittled to reduce the likelihood of bolt sheering. A2 stainless steel socket cap bolts were chosen for use in GB Racing frame sliders for the material’s excellent elastic modulus, meaning they are more likely to bend instead of just breaking in a crash. This choice of hardware ensures the protective equipment will stay in place when they are called into duty.

As you can see, GB Racing is an engineering company that’s passionate about motorcycle parts! These physical properties lend themselves well to motorcycle crash protection and their implication in GB Racing products has brought the company much notoriety in European racing leagues. Notice the metal collets located at each mounting point. These are found on every GB Racing secondary case cover to ensure bolt stability and enhance crash resistance of the engine cover.


GB Racing secondary clutch cover also enhances protection of the clutch actuator arm on many motorcycles making it less likely to suffer a damaging blow in a crash.


A motorcycle shark guard is designed to prevent the rider from losing his or toes between the chain and the rear sprocket. It’s cheap insurance.


Some motorcycles come with bungs for attaching a shark guard, just use the included hardware to bolt it on to your bike. For bikes that do not include this component, a mounting bracket is included though you will have to drill and tap your swingarm to install this safety device.

Aimed squarely at the performance street rider, the Alpinestars Tech 1-R jacket is built with many of the same features you’ll find on their top-of-the-line racing suits. This motorcycle jacket is assembled with an abrasion-resistant leather outer shell that averages 1.3mm in thickness. Inside, all the various accouterments necessary for protecting you out on the road are included, like CE-certified armor pads in the elbows, polyurethane external shoulder sliders, foam chest pads (upgradable with this chest pad kit) and a foam back protector (also upgradeable). As modern fast bikes tend to have you leaned forward a bit, the Tech 1-R jacket is cut with a longish arrears to keep the sun off your lower back and the arms are properly articulated so there’s no binding of the leather when you’re at the controls. Several areas of the jacket are perforated via a die-cutting method to deliver cooling air directly to the wearer. Cooling efficiency is further enhanced by a 3D mesh liner that’s fitted throughout the jacket’s interior. This liner also reduces friction against the skin – making the jacket supremely comfortable out on the road.

If you like to do the occasional trackday, or you’re a hardcore scratcher out on the road, a full-circumference zipper is also included at the waist of the jacket to attach a matching pair of Alpinestars riding pants.

Taking lessons learned from their work with some of the best riders around the world, Alpinestars employs two separate, but integral, accordion stretch panels at the sides of the Tech 1-R jacket. There’s also a stretch panel for each of the elbows. These permit a great range of flexibility from a fitted jacket without sacrificing safety.

Each ABM brake fluid reservoir kit comes with everything you need to install and attach it to your OEM or aftermarket brake master cylinder. The 15mL fluid reservoir is machined almost entirely from aluminum and then fitted with a 90° outlet at its bottom center to ensure consistent and uninterrupted fluid transfer from the reservoir to the master cylinder. The kit also includes a special mounting bracket that can easily be bent to fit just about any custom configuration.

Every ABM fluid reservoir kit comes complete with Norprene tubing and a customizable mounting bracket.

At the bottom center of each ABM fluid reservoir lies the outlet spigot. The spigot itself can be rotated as required so there are no kinks in kinks in the reservoir hose.

Three stainless steel bolts fasten the bendable mounting bracket to the fluid reservoir. The bracket is also slotted to allow a perfect custom fit to almost any motorcycle with no kinks in the fluid hose.

A site glass is fitted so checking fluid levels can be accomplished without removing the cap.

Gaerne’s floating system allows the foot to move naturally while preventing hyperextension, twisting and compression injuries. For those of you that have lost your footing suddenly and whacked your foot hard against the footpeg, the extra armor on the shin and the full length of the calve will be a welcome site.

A shock absorbing heel cup surrounds the heal in an armored fortress that not only absorbs impact energy, but also includes a low-friction magnesium slider element.

As you can see, the heel cup is also reinforced with a carbon composite material.

A rubber gasket runs the circumference of the top opening on each boot for a close fit against the calves.

There’s also a micro adjustable ratcheting system on the outer side of each boot to permit a fine degree of tuning. You’ll be able to fit each boot against your legs perfectly.

A full-length zipper is secreted behind a rubber gasket on the inner side of each boot. This opens the top up very wide, making it easy to get your foot in, or out of the boot. The rubber material also helps you grip your foot against the motorcycle.

Magnesium toe sliders are fitted as standard. They’re housed in a hard rubber surround to offer an extra degree of cushioning when your toe hits the ground suddenly.

Part of Alpinestars’ City Collection, the Logic Kevlar Denim riding pants offer extra protection wrapped inside what appears to be your standard five pocket jeans. And though these are “only” pants, at least one part of its stitching technique echoes that of Alpinestars’ one-piece leather suits with a strong main seam construction that’s designed to resist bursting in the event of a sliding type crash. Kevlar reinforced fabrics are located in the most common areas that would contact the ground in a fall: knees and seat – so those places can be expected to hold up significantly better than cotton. All of this adds up to riding jeans that don’t give away their true ability when you’re on your feet and they have a fit that’s very comfortable. They may even become our favorite all-around jeans! Knees are slightly articulated for a comfortable fit on the bike and the legs run slightly long to keep your ankles covered when you ride.

Teknic Xcelerator gloves are built with a combination of modern materials and innovative safety technology wrapped into an effective hand protection package. Starting with a Japanese drum dyed cowhide chassis with .8mm thick kangaroo palms, the gloves provide a surprising amount of flexibility, translate an excellent feel through the bars and do it all with a high degree of impact protection and abrasion resistance. Aiding the kangaroo’s hide on the pinkie side of the hand and wrapping under the palm is a layer of Kevlar sewn in below an extra layer of leather. This is done in the areas most likely to come into contact with the ground by the rider in a fall. Throughout the gloves, impact-dispersing hard armor inserts can be found on the knuckles, at the base of the palms and at the ulna side of each wrist. The armor on the knuckles do double duty as intakes to direct cooling air straight to the skin. Furthermore, a combination of high density closed cell foam and low density open cell foam are found around the aforementioned hard armor and on the thumb and pinkie sides of each hand to provide secondary impact protection and aid in comfort. Each glove is pre-curved to impart a neutral feel over the bars and prevent leather from bunching up under the palms.

Patented scaphoid protectors reduce the likelihood of mechanical injury by helping the palms slide, rather than catch on the pavement in the event of a crash. In this way, your wrist(s) is less likely to be forced to bend to the point where the scaphoid will be forced to break.

Palms are constructed from kangaroo skin and reinforced with Kevlar and an additional layer of leather near the wrist and along the side of the pinkie finger. The rest of the chassis is drum-dyed Japanese cowhide and assembled using innovative stitching techniques.

Each gauntlet uses a double-wrist closure to go over your leather suit. The wrist strap itself is hidden behind a protective flap and has Velcro tabs on both, it’s inner and outer faces to provide a sure fit and maximum safety.
