Commemorating Mick Doohan’s visit to the Isle of Man TT earlier this year, Arai has created a new rendition of the Australian’s iconic Arai Doohan Replica helmet. The design is certainly true to the previous iterations in terms of looks with a few tweaks added to give it a TT feel. Gone is the koala on the back of the lid, having been replaced by a map of the Mountain Course and there’s no more blue either. Gray and silver colors are given a bit of sparkle and a few TT logos have been thrown in for good measure. Overall, this is what a true Arai Corsair V is all about – top notch looks to go with its stellar comfort and superior ventilation.

Of course, Drudi Performance was responsible for the design of this Arai Mic Doohan helmet.

Drudi Performance markings are also present on the chinbar and here, on the backside of the helmet. For the true collector that does not wish to use this on the road, it is possible to remove the SNELL/DOT sticker on the back of the helmet.

Installing the two communicators included with the Scala G4 Powerset listed above is a quick and simple task. Each kit gives you the option of either clamping the communicator bases to your helmets or, you can use the included sticky pads for helmets that don’t have any space between the cheek pad and the shell. Here, we installed a Scala Powerset on a pair of HJC RPS-10 Ben Spies Monster Replica Helmets using the clamp mechanism. As you can see, routing the wires behind the comfort liner makes for a clean installation.

The noise-canceling microphone’s boom can be bent for a perfect position in front of the rider’s mouth.

After about fifteen minutes of work (we were taking our time here!), the Powerset’s pre-matched pair is ready to go!

For those of you with open-faced helmets, the Scala system works there too!

Word of advice on the clear be patient and apply slowly so you get all the air bubbles out or they will show through the clear it really looks like shit.... My buddy bought clear after I got mine and he slapped them on real quick they aren't on anymore he got tired of the air bubbles.

It pays to take your time, thanks for your input.

A minimalist design is what’s attached to your helmet. For better performance, the microphone boom has a colored tab on it to denote which side should face your mouth.

This is the heart of the G4 system. Simple buttons are easy to feel with a gloved hand.

Convenient carrying pouch protects your communication device when it’s not on your helmet.

We’ve been very satisfied with the Blingstar cabinets we’ve installed in our race hauler. They’ve proven to be very durable and have withstood some particularly rough Illinois roads near Autobahn Country Club and the more routine trips over to Grattan Raceway and Gingerman Raceway. Our word of advice goes towards making sure you don’t install any of these trailer cabinet accessories in a way that would require you to re-arrange your proven packing scheme. We carefully laid out ours with this in mind.

The dual helmet bins at the front of our trailer are an excellent place to store spare knee sliders, de-ionized water, boots and gloves. We also hang our leathers from the rack and keep the tie-down there for an easy reach when loading the trailer.

Oil, cleaners, brake fluid and water wetter have all found a home in these cabinets. The towel rolls at the bottom, true to their design, don’t unspool themselves either. It’s nice rolling into the paddock with everything you need ready to go.

Bumpy roads and heavy use haven’t dampened our enthusiasm for Blingstar trailer accessories. They’ve worked flawlessly from day one!
