  3. Well, I get it from all sides and can honestly say, no type of rider is better than the other. Whether I am on the Harley, KTM or BMW, waves come or go. So, I have come to the conclusion that it really is the rider and not the brand. Goldwingers and Squidos seem to be the worst. HD guys are hit and miss. Same with BMW guys. Wave or no-wave, makes no real difference to me.
  4. Nope, that is a competitor by the other Dorothy Lane store. You need to travel further south on 48 to find us. We are about .5 miles north of I-675 on 48, in the Dorothy Lane shopping center. www.twillysyogurt.com http://maps.google.com/maps?rls=com.microsoft:*&oe=UTF-8&startIndex=&startPage=1&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=Dorothy+Lane+Market+Inc,+Washington+Township+OH+45459&fb=1&gl=us&hq=Dorothy+Lane+Market+Inc,+Washington+Township+OH+45459&cid=0,0,12430489545445720030&sa=X&ei=fa5kUIbED6em0QXh5ICIDg&ved=0CB8Q_BIwAQ
  5. Ok, little late on my part but the Grand Opening is this Saturday. If you out for a ride, stop on by. Ribbon cutting is at 10am with local dignitaries and doors open at 11am. Loyalty Program is working (100oz = 10 free oz) but the promo codes are not working yet. I have put in for 10/6 off to do the OR ride, now the weather needs to cooperate.
  6. Nice, good race. Thanks for the post. I haven't seen the EBR run.
  7. I have been to the TableRock Lake and Branson area quite a few times. Bull Shoals and down to Mtn. Home and Greers Ferry Lake. All fishing trips in the younger days. Never on a cycle though. Great roads and will definitely put the roller in roller coaster. Roads seem to rise and fall as much as they snake their ways through the country. Pretty rural and short on amenities unless you get near the tourist towns.
  8. I got the email today and I so want to do this. But, I lost the front tire at Putnam and have a smashed can to resolve. Anyone have a spare Sil Moto low mount Ti can for a Ducati 900ss lying around collecting dust?
  9. Buy a bike. Much better on the knees. Co-worker is doing some "couch to 5k in 90 days" book. Basically, start slow with a mix of run, walk. Increase intervals of running and decrease intervals of walking.
  10. Religion is the root of all evils. Good job to Hilary and her take your religion and keep it to yourself comments. Finally something good from the Clinton camp.
  11. Do you have a friend or someone with a dealers liscense that can buy on Crashedtoys?
  12. I have no friends but would actually love to do the work with guidance. More emphasis on the bound and rebound adjusters vs. the preload. KTM needs put into sport mode. Duc suspenders paid a visit to 35motorsports but it would be good to see how they were setup once sitting on the bike. 15th looks good.
  13. Hey now, that is not fair. The oil leak issue was resolved by the removal of AMF. They only sit in the pits and make noise because they are too heavy to move.
  14. Sport Tourer BMW: K1200S or GT ($8k or less these days) F800S or GT R1200R R1200GS Ducati: ST3 or ST4 (just found this one http://lexington.craigslist.org/mcy/3198448525.html) Multistrada 1100 Monster Triumph: Sprint ST Tiger Speed or Street Triple Honda: VFR ST1300 Goldwing NC700 NT700V CBR 1000R Yamaha: Tenere FJ FZ(1,8,6) Kawi: Concours Z1000 Versys Aprilla; Mana GTS Shiver Tuono
  15. Come one, come all. We should be open this Wednesday 8/29. Twilly's Yogurt Emporium is about a half mile north of I-675 in the Dorothy Lane shopping complex. We are in the back of the complex by the running store, Boston Stoker and the nut shop. Which seems kind of fitting. POS system was delivered today and a few employees have been trained. We are still in the process of hiring more and running them through the training. So, this is our SOFT, SOFT opening to run us through the paces and establish a routine and learn. Come on in, give us your coin and constructive criticism. Now, I just hope the newbies can count change. BTW, thanks to all the OR riders for the support and the applications. We heard a few references to OR riders during the interviews and hiring. If you applied and haven't heard, be patient as we still have openings and my wife is working through the reference checks and a million other details.
  16. Wow, amazing story. Glad you are OK. The airbag on the GW is interesting but the reusable Alpinestar airbag leather suit has me wondering if it would be the answer. While the suit is great, it will still put you airborne where you can strike another object. GW airbike seems to keep you on the bike and absorbs most of your forward momentum. Intriguing. Glad you and your wife are well. Time will heal the wounds and you will know when you are ready to get back on a bike. Don't rush it.
  17. HUH, so you blame the bike for trying to ride it in a manner that is the complete opposite of its design purpose? Diss the Lazy-boy because it is not an Aeron chair? Bag on the fatty cause she is not a spinner? Ok, Heritage is no CBR but for its size and weight, it handles pretty good ("decent enough"). It soaks up the flat mileage of the Midwest with aplomb and can hold a decent pace on mildly curved roads. No Dragon Slayer but the chicks like to go for rides, so all is well. I also had the vague feedback on my Heritage. It would push in the corners and I would curse it to no end when I ran wide. The stock settings on the shocks is quite soft. I dialed mine all the way stiff and it handles a lot better and provides much better feedback. Ride is still comfortable. Just treat the floorboards like knee pucks and I want to see your body position hanging off on the corner.
  18. Talk about one seriously slow train in coming. I am also interested to see what BMW releases with the Lo-Rider concept. The images they put out, 6 years ago now???, sure piqued my interest. Norton 916, new motor in the Guzzi V7, a Ducati 799 or BMW S600RR are the stuff dreams and ex-husbands are made of.
  19. Both experiences are not uncommon but I have never found it to be BRAND related. I can't even begin to count the number of motorcycle and bicycle dealerships I have walked into, been ignored or treated with disdain. You did the right thing and found one that was willing to lend assistance. Dealerships that primarily support European motorcycle brands generally seem to be better experiences. It is so easy to identify the dealerships that really care and I have no problem supporting them.
  20. MFMFMFF, ugh. I was doing better than that and did crash http://electriceyeimages.photoreflect.com/store/Orderpage.aspx?pi=1W9E000W013486&po=3486&pc=3637
  21. Intermediate 2nd and 3rd session, I was following my brother on another 900ss. I am sure you flew by us at some point. I walked the tech area looking for you and the 675 but didn't see you. I was going to hit you up for a tow/follow later in the day. I was feeling pretty good in T7 and T8 for the first time ever but I knew I could run T8 better with a line adjustment.
  22. Yes $40 per bike, $60 for two????
  23. Hmm, so much for the equipment excuse.
  24. OK, anyone see my T4 exit in the I session before lunch? Not sure how it happened. I spent most of the session following my brother who was learning the track layout. I picked up the pace after he pulled off and was running through T4 when the front went out on me. Question on tires (Dunlop Q2): Front tire has 2.5 years (10-12) track days on it but plenty of tread. 28r/30f cold is what I normally run but started the day at 27/29 cold. Rear was replaced at the start of this season and now has 3 days on it. Rear was well scrubbed left and right side after the crash. Left side of the front tire was "blued" at the start of the day. Chicken strips (1/4 inch) still exist on each side of rear, so the bike was never at "full" lean. After the crash, I took a look at the front tire. Right side was scrubbed from the Putnam pavement but the left side was not scrubbed. Left side was smooth despite 3 sessions on it. So, tire may have been cool on the left but was working just fine for 2.5 sessions. Air pressure should have been ok. Could the tire just lost its grip with heat cycles? Not sure what any other stupid thing I could have done. I was really concentrating on hooking my outside leg into the tank, supporting body with torso muscles, chest on the tank and taking pressure off the bars. So, I can't point to something I did (eg grab the brake) or didn't do but obsiously, something was a amiss. I am going to get a new front Q2 but should I look at the new Bridgestones BT003s or potentially biting the bullet and going to DOT w/ warmers?
