  1. Looks like the squidos were out FIng off in their normal fashion and started harrassing this guy. He probably felt intimidated by a 12 on 1 confrontation. Poor drugged out dude might have thought a gang was on him and he was in danger. Not sure what started it but I have to I say bikers fault. Not like they didn't have chances to disengage and take an off ramp or let him just go away.
  2. Spies leaving Yamaha is not a surprise. Spies staying in MotoGP where he has done dank, that would be a bigger surprise. Though, if I had to guess, Suzuki has a new bike in '13 and Spies might be on one of a two or 3 bike entry. Kawasuki back and needing a rider?
  3. Well, you have 211s but for Dunlop Q2 i was told to run 28r/30f cold and those temps have worked out well for me so far. http://dunlopracing.com/tires-products/d211gp/ does confirm the manf. specs for a low pressure tire.
  4. Willows were nice but felt a bit clunky and poor feel compare to others. I chose the AGV Laguna. Icon Overlords would have been better but were more than I wanted to spend. If you can do black and yellow, I have a pair of large Helimot H20 gloves (kind of funky looking) that I wore 4 times and gave up on. Just a bit too small for my hands. They are not fully broken in yet.

You can buy all kinds of extra bits and bobbles for the camera's at Best Buy. I have used mine for all kinds of activities with no problems ever. Hopefully you just found an isolated issue with that particular clip.
  6. So sweet!!! Gave this one a pet today and the wife gave me that, "don't even think about it look." http://louisville.craigslist.org/mcd/3121840275.html
  7. I do both and their are upsides and downsides of both. I prefer mtn. biking and it can be just a good a work out as road riding. It all depends on the amount of effort you put into it. Buy a decent bike even if you can't decide which way to go. Plenty of nice used bikes out there. My reco would be a decent hardtail (rigid) mountain bike. You can ride the road, around town or on the trails quite efficiently with a simple tire change. A cyclocross bike can double as a road and trail bike as well. Trail riding in the midwest isn't all that hard core compared to mountainous areas. Or, put slicks on a rigid mtn bike. Helmet, cycling pants (padded underwear), pump, patch kit, Camel Back and some tubes should cover you. I took riding years ago was a way to get cardio in with a bad knee. If you do decide to go road, just be prepared to go riding at 5am or drive to the paved trails. www.mtbr.com is a good resource for trails and bikes. Let us know if you need bike recommendations.
  8. Will you have a suspension guy there?
  9. Maybe someone mentioned this place: http://www.cincykarting.com/ Indoors and maybe you could get someone into pole position?
  10. 2nd time at M-O for me and I am doing what you describe above. Yes, I still do hate T8. I just can't figure out how hug the curbing tight like you are doing. I try to hug the curbing but end up going wide on exit. That has me crossing back across the track for 9. So, I have been late apexing 7 (following the lighter pavement path) and late apexing 8 so that I am close to the curbing going over the top of the hill with a straighter shot to the entrance of 9. I remembered being told to early on 12 and drift out wide to set up for the carousel. Now, watching you do it, reminds me that I was boofing T12 all day. I find it interesting (there I go again) to see the different line options and expand my thoughts on what is possible.
  11. My bad. I found it interesting as it was slightly different from what I have been doing. I should have qualified that better. I like watching these videos as a way to identify something that I may be doing wrong or could do better.
  12. Nice vid and thanks for sharing. Interesting line choice through 7 and 8. You passed me at 13:15. Based on how you were passing everyone, looks like A is in your near future. I just got to watch my GoPro vid. Nothing too inspiring but I did manage a PB of 1:52. Rest of the laps were just around 2:00. Any hints on how to shrink the file size done? I am at 1.5G.
  13. If you want to speculate, you could play with CORN, GLD or other commodities futures. For more of a longer-term strategy, I am looking to go for income: http://seekingalpha.com/article/492921-building-a-7-fixed-income-portfolio http://www.advisorperspectives.com/newsletters10/The_Ultimate_Income_Portfolio.php There are quite a few stable companies (utilities) that generate nice and steady dividends. Little up or downside on stock price movement so the principal will be relatively safe.
  14. Amen! Beef brisket or beef ribs don't require the thick, heavy and sugar based sauces like Sugar Ray or Sugar KC Masterpiece. Leave that stuff to pork or poultry. Brisket is a key bbq of Texas and the plains. I will usually make a Chimichurri or Mexican Mole if I want a sauce for the brisket. Maybe even a bit of Tiger Sauce or Pickapeppa. My #1 favorite sauce is reduced Balsalmic vinegar with a bit of hot sauce added in. But, that is the expensive route and the wife gets poed when I do it.
  15. I believe this is the place I see just off of I-70. http://www.newcastleraceway.com
  16. $50 at Dicks, is what I think I paid for mine. I am solo and should have some extra room but the bikes may have to be in the sun. If you don't get a better offer, look for light blue Honda Odyssey with a Subaru bike rack on the top. Or, the only red Ducati with white urinal cake sliders on the side.
  17. I second this notion. $50 a month was the best money spent for the 7-years that I lived in Chicago. Just make sure it is a storage unit that doesn't worry about the gas in the tank. Next to that, it is not that expensive to buy a couple sheets of plywood, 2x4s and hinges to creat your own person bike box. That was my college solution when the bike had to stay outside one winter.
  18. Save the fruit woods for poultry or fowl. Hardwood charcoal with mesquite is the way to go with brisket. I personally don't like to use a whole lot of rubs or marinades on brisket. Salt/Pepper with a bit of paprika and garlic is about as far as I am willing to go. Smoke fat side up. 225 for 1-1.5 hours per pound, basted with beer.
  19. Yes, interested. Are you planning to limit the # of riders by group? In other words, is this a private party venture for a limited number of really cool guys or are you opening this up to the world?
  20. That is a cool old Guzzi. Looks like someone wanting to do a bit of Vintage racing and getting seat time. Is that a picture of the what others in previous posts were calling a Honda 175 bike that crashed?
  21. Having done novice with STT (north and south groups) and Mid-Ohio - I would have to advise you to go with STT. The programs are very similar on the track but STT has a better class room experience. Putnam is a good first time track and easier to learn than Mid-Ohio.
  22. Little Tally is run counter clockwise and is mostly lefts with two rights. That would be the track to run if you want left hand practice. Lefts might be harder as you are going off the center line or lack of a center line on country roads. Rights always have the ditch and greater contrast between pavement and no pavement. Body position and looking through the turns are probably most of it but confidence is another matter. Go slow, break the turn down step by step. Once you can identify what you are doing on the rights and not doing (or not doing as well) on the lefts, you will figure it out. Have someone follow you but a track day with a CR will probably help the most as you can eliminate all the other distractions of street riding on the track.
  23. Beautiful is an understatement or a word more fitting for paintings or hot female types. Life altering, breath taking and amazing may be more appropriate when it comes to Yosemite. That place is magical and has an energy all unto itself.
