  1. Every adult should have and use credit cards on a regular basis to establish/maintain a credit history. Using reward cards, when managed correctly, are great tools. We will buy gas, groceries, dinners out and a whole host of normal monthly expenditures on the card but we pay off the balance every month. However, we still operate on the principal of only buying something we have money for and never carry a balance over.
  2. Agree. You only have the money to loan if you never expect to have it return. After that, evaluate the situation and individual you are loaning it to and why. Set up a payment schedule if the amount is large. I have been loaned money and I have lent money. Families should help if they can and the need is legit.
  3. thanks. Looks like I am going to have to work from home on Friday so i can watch. I will have to look but I assume the race will start at 3pmish in spain, so 9amish here in the states.
  4. Since this is a Dayton area thread, anyone know a place to watch MotoGP? If I am around, I would like to try and watch the final race.
  5. Ugh, I was just thinking about a last season ride over to WV or Dragon. Sadly, I have commitments this weekend or I would be all over it. Who knows iwth this weather, maybe next weekend.
  6. Is it going to be biking weather in Nov?
  7. WOW, I thought Rainier was long gone. Bastards! Looks like the vid was shot around Bend as that trail looks awfully framiliar.
  8. Used to play for beers in College, losers buy and I got drunk a lot for free. But, that was decades ago. Got the bug again and played a bit in Chicago till the league ass hats ruined the fun by thinking they were good and took the league for too seriously. Sadly, we managed to collect a full size table in a house buy and it sits in the basement. This house, I didn't even bother to hang the light. I really should play again or if anyone is interested in a full size slate table, it's yours for $500, $150 for the light. Brunswick table, nothing fancy but plays well.
  9. This was a new one so I went down and tried it on the wife. She actually kind of liked it. I figured I would get a big old slap or perv comment.
  10. Muad’Dib, hmm. sand storms, desertification. Are they working on Spice and a pot against the Fre(e)man?
  11. You sir are correct. http://www.pewforum.org/2010/09/28/u-s-religious-knowledge-survey/
  12. Nice choice for 2up enjoyment and soaking up the miles. And, you have a place for her stuff.
  13. awesome. Love how the cop shoots first and ask questions later.
  14. Fixed it for you. I could completely understand if the Harley riders doing this are ones with forward foot controls but that has nothing to do with the bike. It is a riding position issue. I tried a foot forward Triumph and was in agony after an hour. My HD Heritage is the equivalent of riding a Lazy Boy. I would jump on that thing and ride it all day without pain.
  15. Ok, hair splitting. Methodist, Mormon, Baptist, Protestant/Lutheran,...Catholic are all religions based on Jesus Christ. They are three major religions of Abraham = Christianity, Islam and Judaism of which Catholicism evolved from Christianity amd the belief of Jesus Christ. Just because the Catholic church chose to develop based on the assumption of decendents of St. Peter, apostolic succession, and Baptists from John the Baptist, doesn't make them any less Christian. Yes, differences but all threads from the same cloth. Besides. Besides, Wiki tells us: The Catholic Church is the largest denomination with over 1.1 billion members, over half of all Christians worldwide
  16. private sale will always yield the most $$ for you as the dealer will need to price lower to make margin. This is great time of the year to be a buyer as there are lots of bikes coming onto the market. Poor time to be a seller. Bonus, buyers are out there looking and you never know. Put it out there and see if it sells. If not, hold on and wait till spring.
  17. This has been a very slow train in coming. Back in 2006, I think, BMW released the "Low Rider" concept and created quite a stirr. I am suprised it took them so long as this cannot be a far departure from the R1200R. Well, accept for the new H2O cooling.
  18. According to the Catholics, we are all born with original sin. (hence the boot from Eden) What is most troubling about this: By joining up and admitting to Christ being your savoiur, repenting, doing some hail marys and our fathers + 10% to the house of God. All sins are to be forgiven. If you mess up, simply repeat every week and all is good in the eyes of the lord = sin free (so long is no Mortal sins are commited) Now, you go out one night and get sinful with a fellow sinner, come back, pay up, do your due diligence and that transgression i forgiven. 9.5 months later, God rewards your sinful behavouir with a miracle = birth of a child. Now this sweet and innocent child that has done nothing wrong and was born to parents that were absolved from sin = is a sinner. "Origninal Sin" Now this innocent child that has committed no transgressions against god, church or other beings has a medical issue and dies moments after birth. Is this child of god welcomed into heaven = NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!! Poor little un-baptized child of god, lived all of 30 minutes of life gets to spend the rest of eternity in Purgatory. Yes, the spot all Catholics go to until deemed worthy of entry into Heaven. However, the baby cannot enter because it was never baptized = paid their fee to the house of the lord. "Limbo of the unbaptized". Now, the church has changed its position on this recently but can only offer hope that infants will pass into Heaven. No official statement which also can be interpreted as probably not but until we get there, we will never know for sure. F that noise and I will take a giant PASS, PASS, PASS!!! PS, the story above is real and only the names were witheld to protect the innocent. (thankfully, not mine) Purgatory: The Catechism of the Catholic Church defines purgatory as a "purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the joy of heaven," which is experienced by those "who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified" (CCC 1030). It notes that "this final purification of the elect . . . is entirely different from the punishment of the damned" (CCC 1031). The purification is necessary because, as Scripture teaches, nothing unclean will enter the presence of God in heaven (Rev. 21:27) and, while we may die with our mortal sins forgiven, there can still be many impurities in us, specifically venial sins and the temporal punishment due to sins already forgiven. bap·tism (bptzm) n.1. A religious sacrament marked by the symbolic application of water to the head or immersion of the body into water and resulting in admission of the recipient into the community of Christians.2. A ceremony, trial, or experience by which one is initiated, purified, or given a name.
  19. what are you trying to buy? I have had so many horrible experiences in mcy shops and even biycle shops that when I find one I like, I support it. I am always amazed how i can walk into a shop, show interest in a particular bike and walk out without even so much as a, " hi, how are you doing" or starting up a convo. I guess, they get burnt out with every tire kicker sucking up their websurfing or counter girl flirting time. I am a huge fan of Commonwealth in Lousville. A bit of a jaunt but worth the trip. KTM, MV, Suzuki, Triumph, Ducati all supported - give them a call if you are interested in one of those brands.
  20. Interesting, though I have to wonder why they want to compete with harleys. HD has a pretty well established rental program from the dealerships. I think Enterprise is on to something but I would target different biking segments that are underserverd in high demand Western riding states.
  21. So, Adam nailed Eve and begat Cain and Able. Who did Cain and Abel nail? Well, before Cain killed Abel to so he could have Eve to himself, I guess. Eventually there must have been sisters that got busy with, ??, their brothers/father. Lets not forget, it was done twice because most of Adam and Eve's spawn were flooded out and everyone else spawned after the waters subsided and the Ark was unloaded. Man, one heck of a story to tell the kids on how we evolved from dust to today.
  22. sigh, all religions are ficticious and only exist in the mind of those that believe.
