C14, FJR, ST1300, all big heavy- powerful machines that I would not recommend for a somewhat new rider. Most all liter bikes FZ1, Z1000, and the Super Sports way too fast. SV 650 or a 650 Ninja or the 650N, FZ600R good all around bikes. Don't make crazy power but still hustles on a twisty road, and long distance comfort. All good light STs.

Pirelli Angels on both the Yamaha's, stick great rain or shine. Seem to wear good, got about 5000 on the FJR's set still looks good. Think I paid around $ 230.00 a set from Jake Wilson.

It seems you want a larger bike than the 500, take a look at the 1st Gen Concourse. Not as big and bad as the C14, but a solid touring rig. The Z1000, Bandit 1200 or FZ1. All good bikes.
