Not that far fetched when you consider the ratio of movement between the lever and the piston. The pistons only have to move maybe .060 to start applying brake pressure, meanwhile at the lever you've moved as much as 3/4". If the rotor is bent bad enough it could push a piston in as much as 1/8", now you have to make up that travel and get resistance on that piston before the hydraulic pressure will act on the rest.

That sucks dude, rotors and track days aren't cheap. You may be able to find a used set at a bike salvage lot if any are close to you, just measure the thickness and make sure they're not bent.

Looks like I will be trying to quit, my Dr got on me about it today and wrote a scrip for chantix. Gonna starttaking it this week, see if it works. I'm very hesitant about taking such a psychoactive drug, I don't really like stuff messing with my brain like that. I quit on the patch for a year or so when I was 21, then slowly started up again. Hoping I can resist the urge while drinking. I only smoke 3 or 4 packs a week and most of that is if I'm having some beers, working in the garage or commuting in the car. Remove calipers, turn upside down, bleed again. This is a common issue with some brakes on zooks, I think the nissin 4 pot ones. Air gets trapped in the bottom pot.

I'm also in the 'hi beams during the day' crowd, when its bright out your pupils contract so you let in less light, ergo brights during the day don't blind you. At night your pupils dialate to let in more light, so brights have a more pronounced effect.

Hi-viz gear is bullshit. Someone conducted a study (ill have to Google around for it later) wherein the same person rode the same route several times on a black bike with black gear, a brightly colored bike with hi-viz gear and a police bike in police gear. He recorded the same numbers of near misses and driver ignorance in black vs hi-viz. Drivers however, do pay attention to cops. I draw the conclusion that its not that they don't see you, its that they don't care.

I hate fog and get a lot of it on the ride home. Got kamakazi'd by a possum a few nights ago, little Fucker was on the other side of the road pointed the other way,heard me coming and ran like hell across to get run over. As a rule I pin the gas when this happens, lighten the front end and roll over said critter with no problems. The fog clinging to my visor is a different story, and I think im going to try to attatch a piece of squeegee or windshield wiper to my left glove to try and help with that.
