  1. free market. ultimately it's their fucking business and they get to decide who comes in. i support their freedom to turn down people's money for whatever reason they want.
  2. that place sucks anyway. me and the wife stayed down in polaris for a night for a little getaway while i was gear shopping at IP. thought it would be fun to go to dave and busters and get drunk and play games. place was full of fucking kids. like, parents would just dump their kids off there and fuck off. as we were leaving a whole crew of some ghetto ass columbus thugs were walking in. fuck that place.
  3. nice bike, i almost bought one a few years back but settled on the bandit 1200 instead. still wouldnt mind adding a brit triple to the stables.
  4. Unfortunately only the exhaust is spiffy. The rest of the bike is a fucking mess. Stored it in my cousins dirt floor barn over the winter and every bit of bare metal is corroded. Might just pay to have the whole bike detailed.
  5. I did a thing! Delkevic stainless full 'cafe style' system.. pretty much a copy of the old yoshimura pipes from the 70's. Much lighter than the MAC I had on it, plus prettier and sounds amazing.
  6. Started disconnecting all the wiring for the koso speedo/tach I put on the Honda last year. I wired it all in real quick and ugly and it really needs redone proper with solder and shrink tube. Also need to pull the exhaust and oil cooler in preparation for the new goodies coming in the mail and also replacing the swing arm bushings and putting tapered roller bearings in the steering head. And eventually putting the new fork springs and gold valves in the bandit. This is 'what are you doing to your bike eventually', right?
  7. i use klotz klr. dries quickly. i dont wash my bike much so my chain and sprockets always look like shit anyway.
  8. shit happens. the 15th is about the only date i can do it, I'm planing around a lot of stuff. wish you could show, and yeah, i'll have you down to sample meats.
  9. arent you choosing not to come the "one" weekend I host an event?
  10. OK maggots, listen up. I've chosen a menu for the event. Feedback will be ignored. Dissent will be scoffed at. You'll stuff your man-pleasers and shut up. Gonna smoke 2 Boston butts the night before and have pulled pork in a crock pot day of. Will also be soaking fresh brats in beer day before and either smoking or grilling them day of. Likely also to have a crock pot of Ducati © brand pasta for the hipsters. Why? Well, the last few years I've had to abscond to the more or less unpopulated area of the patio to run the BBQ grill 3 or 4 times during the event. Being a lazy bastard, this didn't appeal to me. So if you want burgers or dogs, bring them and you can use the grill. Once the brats are done, I'm done. I will be accepting applicants for the r&d phase of pork and brat seasoning and method selection to commence some time in March.
  11. barberton and kenmore are both repositories of some of the most ghetto redneck shit-ass things you'll ever see.
  12. https://akroncanton.craigslist.org/mcy/5976999160.html fucking barbertucky.....
  13. standing on the seat flapping his arms doing a $1.85 throwing 'bows.
  14. idk, i was thinking of creating a poll to see if anyone has a better date in mind. what do you mods think?
  15. Got money for the kaw. She's gone tomorrow or Tuesday. After paying off a vet bill and my credit card, I'll be buying the vintage Honda some new pipes. So I'm looking at either delkevic full stainless system or carpy's yoshimura reproduction exhaust. Really not sure which way to go here. Carpy's looks awesome, has removable baffle and is $280 in raw steel, so I'd have to either ceramic coat or use header paint. I forget how much the delkevic is, but it's stainless and weldless. Everything is held together with springs, which looks cool. It has a 3 stage baffle, so it can be quiet, louder, or obnoxious.
  16. OK, more smoking today. Did some chicken drumsticks rubbed with Cajun seasoning, salt, pepper and garlic and some boneless skinless chicken breasts marinated in honey, o.j. and soy sauce then rubbed with garlic powder and onion powder. Smoked both with mesquite with apple juice in the water pan. The drummies were excellent. Juicy tender meat but again, tough skin. The breasts were bland. Couldn't taste any of the marinade. Couldn't taste much smoke or apple in either, not like the oak/applewood I did yesterday. Wondering if mesquite is just a lighter flavor or if I need to do a larger cut so it gets more smoke over a longer time. Next up is a pork loin roast. Planning to brine it for a night, then rub with brown mustard, minced garlic and olive oil unless someone has a better suggestion. Also read about resting pork wrapped in foil and towels in a cooler for half an hour to get a more juicy finished product. Suggestions? Comments? Recipes? I'm all ears. Plan on doing a Boston butt and a brisket soon too. I have a lot of meat in the fridge to eat already tho...
  17. It was on the lowest setting and still blackened them up pretty good. They were on the lower rack, wings on the upper. Maybe things that have to smoke for a long time shouldn't be down there so close to the heat source. Ribs were fantastic, just had 4 more bones. Very tender, lots of smoke flavor and the rub I made was perfect. Salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, chili powder, paprika, cayenne and brown sugar. Could have used oregano, maybe next time.
  18. Got one of mine sold....Well pending anyway. Sale should be concluded this week.
  19. Ended up getting a master built portable propane smoker. Decided that I'd get more utility out of it if I could take it camping. Also, I needed to store whatever I bought in my already crowded garage. Just pulled out a rack of baby backs and some wings I started earlier today. Smoked first on whisky barrel chips, then applewood. Dry rub on both. Wings came out delicious but the skin was a bit chewy. The ribs came out great but got a bit dark on the underside (I put them in bone side down) but tasty. Plenty of smoke flavor. I'll do a brisket or maybe a Boston butt soon, need someone to share the bigger cuts with, and my wife does not eat beef or pork. Also I bought an adaptor hose to run it off my 20 lb tank because the 1 lb bottles aren't very cost effective.
  20. Getting mine out of storage today and probably doing some spring maintenance stuff to them. Put one back up on Craigslist, hope it sells this time.
  21. I may even leave my fortress of solitude and attend one of these dinners....
