  1. Truth. There are a few fun roads in the CVNP area but nothing to get a boner over.
  2. Meet at main street cones and conveys. 4881 s main street Akron. I have a half decent route from there to take us all the way into millersburg if you want, or we can tool around the Lawrence twp/orrville/Clinton area. What time you thinkin?
  3. Ok, will post up later today.
  4. Ok. So like Portage lakes area? Maybe Clinton. There are a few good roads around me but nothing very special.
  5. Hartville/brumfield area? Roads aren't great there tho... idk if you're looking to hit twisties or what, I'm just trying to shake down some new upgrades and blow the cobwebs out.
  6. Speeds will be pretty moderate, my confidence is always a bit shaky after winter. Where is anyone's guess. Would not like to stay too-too far from home, maybe within an hour of massillon. I also may have to run up into the Akron area at some point. Up for pretty much anything.
  7. I plan on riding around NEO.
  8. The ergos of the gsxs1000 are only slightly sportier than the b12. Maybe he set his suspension up for him, is he heavier than you? I havent attempted any touring on mine, but I've put in some 3 and 4 hundred mile days and it does get uncomfortable, hoping the saddelman seat I bought over the winter will mitigate that, but i didnt buy this bike for touring. It's for commuting, the track and doing hoodrat shit.
  9. Sounds like my old b12 before I went full retard on it, little top end rush from 7.5k up but nothing to giggle about. I put in a set of gsxr cams, jetted and tuned the carbs, oval k&n filters, timing advance, yoshimura exhaust, busa shock, race tech valve kit and sonic springs in the forks...bunch of other shit. You couldn't give it the beans in first gear, it would just stand up. Floated the front wheel pretty much all the way through 2nd. Fun bike but I wanted something modern so I bought a gsxs1000f last may and it is a kick directly in the ass.
  10. @DanLovesToSail I had an 03 bandit 1200 for 5 years, bought it stock and modified it heavily. Sold it last year after buying my current bike, but I'm very curious about the new efi bandit. Would love to meet up and ride, maybe swap bikes for a few miles?
  11. Got the replacement carbon fiber end cap in the mail today. Removed the can and saw that the damage was more severe than I had first thought, some dents and scratches to the underside and the surface that faces the swing arm. Virtually undetectable when it's on the bike, but still hurts my soul. After drilling the rivets I had to hammer the cap off with a drift because they use glue at the factory. Took a rat tail file to the rivet holes to remove any burrs, scrubbed the glue off and tapped the new cap on. Holes didn't line up perfectly, but a little work with a cordless drill and I could seat the rivets. Popped them all in and reinstalled the can. This post is useless without pics, and I dont have any right now.
  12. Seems like the older I get, the faster it goes. Guess I better start making preparations for this shitshow.
  13. Shes finally off the stands and I even ran her around the block. Fresh q3+ meat on the rims, new shock and mirrors mounted up, saddelman seat...just need to finish putting the cover on the rear seat and it's done.
  14. Sorry Paul, was trying to give him hope before he figures out we're all a bunch of miserable dicks. I will try to manage my mental illness better next time.
  15. Welcome to the shitshow @DanLovesToSail. Which bandit did you get, 600? 1200? 1250? If you dont mind heading 45 min or so south I'm hosting my 5th annual meat and greet at my home in massillon. There's a thread in the events forum called 'the fucking Catalina wine mixer'. Hope to see you if you can make it. That being said, this is a great group of guys and gals, I've been a member for I think 7-ish years and I've made a lot of friends through this forum. Its biased towards sport/sport touring but there are all kinds here; track day bros, cruisers, dirt riders etc. If you're not a complete douche and have somewhat thick skin you will find yourself at home here amongst the rest of us dipshits. Post pics of your bike....and dog...if you dont have a dog I can set you up.
  16. Today's little project: Step 1: gut one of your garage door opener remotes, remove the business end. B: solder wires to either side of momentary switch on board. If you cant do this, just hit it with your purse a few times then ask your boyfriend to try. III: drill a hole in your fairing in a spot that's easy to reach with your left hand. Mount waterproof momentary switch. Wrap remote guts in several layers of electrical tape, solder to switch and secure to underside of fairing. voila! Now drink a beer, you've earned it.
  17. Easily proven, meet me at the nearest DIY car wash, I'll help you test it.
  18. Oh I was totally doing hillbilly shit. Front was on a triple tree stand but I had the back jacked up with a harbor freight floor jack under the exhaust lmfao. Next house will have a 500 lb chain hoist in the ceiling for reasons.
  19. Brilliant hillbilly ingenuity, I was hoping you would use a can of ether and a zippo to bead the tires, but you must not be from west-by-god. Also, gorgeous bike.
  20. Both wheels off and in my car, getting some q3+ spooned on them tomorrow, also some right angle valve stems. Ordered new end cap for my pipe, salesman hooked me up for $63. Should be here next weekend.
  21. This isnt an airport. You don't need to announce your departure.
