  1. Price would be nice, as would the location where you live perhaps?
  2. Oh I hear ya and I agree with ya, and yeah I do love those damn V-Stroms. I just installed a new modified clutch basket and all new rear bearings, and this bike is so smooth now it is unreal. I love the model Multistrada you have, and the current version is just unreal "rode Hoblicks when he had one". What makes bikes like the Multis and the V-Stroms such capable bikes for sport touring, is how flexible they can be for what type/style of riding you want to do. Even the 650 can "easily" run 80 to 90 MPH all day and be extremely comfortable while doing so, but of course the 1000 does it even better. The latest 1000 is quite a machine, if you ever get a chance to ride one you should give it a whirl. Now with that all being said.........my NEXT machine to likely join the Strom is gonna be a new FJ-09, talk about a sport touring machine with quite an engine.
  3. Bring it on bub, bet I can ride coast to coast and still hang with you in the twisty stuff. You Ducati snob......... By the way.......have you ridden the new 1000 model? My old 1000 is set up so well it is crazy, I can ride 500 plus mile days no problem, slay twisty roads, AND hit gravel and hardpack as well.

    FS: Xbox 360

Too bad it is not the new X-Box one.
  5. Techron concentrate is the shit..................use it.
  6. Polaris QS&L is the total opposite, there is so much leather and chaps being worn while drinking at the outside bar it is just insane.
  7. Just to elaborate.......I NEVER said that they "did not matter", what I did say is that they give a false sense of security and when on bright makes it even worse for cage drivers to tell how far away we are. And as far as the swerving maneuver goes, I only do that when I am in city areas with a lot of side streets and I see a car starting to creep out. It only needs to be done in a very subtle manner, no need to act like you are warming tires and cleaning off debris for NASCAR race. I know guys who have been riding for a very long time and who have racked up 200K plus miles on bikes while traveling all over the country and Canada, and they are against lights on bright and modulators but firmly believe in the SMIDSY move. Hey I am not trying to preach, all I am wanting to let be known is that what many of us thinks/believes works and makes us more visible, it goes way beyond being visible and in how the human brain works and what the perception is. We all do need to make ourselves as visible as possible, otherwise I would not wear high viz jacket and have LED running lights and wear a white helmet. And I would gladly ride 2 abreast with Jim, we can sync up our Sena headsets and sing Kumbya together.
  8. I would avoid that area like the plague on Saturday, but everything is closed on Sunday's so that makes it nice. Yes 83 is a fantastic road from start to finish, and so is route 60 and 541.
  9. I did not switch sides, some of you need to look a bit into what background camouflage is........motorcycles suffer from that severely. There just is not much size to them when compared to cars and other vehicles, and that is what makes the background break up behind them extremely small and hard to judge how far away they are. All the lights in the world will not help with that, which is the point I am trying to make. Oh and modulators should be banned, they have no business being on any vehicle other than fire and police, and yes I realize they are not true modulators.
  10. Not many head on collision guys and gals, the ole left turn and t-bone is the biggest problem.........and SMIDSY explains it well. Yes....... the blinding high mounted lights will further make it more difficult to judge how far away you are "and hell yeah bright lights can momentarily blind you in the day", plenty of facts and common sense to back that up. I would love for any of you to look into my lights on high PLUS my high intensity LED driving lights, you will be seeing spots no doubt. What good is all of the high viz and bright lights, if they still cannot judge how far away you are? Invest in a proper horn too, that for sure gets the attention of the distracted soccer Mom in an SUV and mini van who is starting to merge into your lane in traffic. Yes lights and high viz no doubt helps you be seen, but being seen is not what still causes the cage drivers to pull out. I am more worried about getting rear ended at a stop, to me that is where I hear about a lot of serious injuries and fatalities. SMIDSY works.....I have had numerous drivers over the years look right at me and still start to pull out, but then totally freeze when I started to do the weave.
  11. Bel-Ray super clean is the best stuff out there IMHO, and the original Dupont Teflon lube and even the new formulation is pretty damn good. I too ride in all conditions, all year, take big trips, and I would for sure go with a Loobman or a scott oiler before I ever applied motor oil by hand. It can be "very effective" if applied correctly, and it sounds like how you do it is correct.
  12. Gentleman I am not totally disagreeing, although I can assure you that running high beams and actually believing it is helping is indeed a false sense of security. I guess potentially blinding oncoming traffic is a real smart thing to do, and then lets also modulate " and I loathe modulators" the high beams as well. I will not be convinced that it gives any real advantage, but by all means ride your own ride. Riding defensively as possible and avoiding people in cages are about the best things we can do, but even then many still don't see us or give a shit about a guy/gal on a motorcycle.
  13. Alrighty then, might as well go ahead and throw on some hi viz and even have some modulators running......they will still run you over and or merge into your lane. You have loud exhaust too I hope, my understanding is that loud pipes saves lives. Read up on the SMIDSY maneuver and watch this video, that is the issue with motorcycles and cages when the cage drivers are not distracted by their cell phones.

    East coast trip

Ugh the traffic and the BIG CITIES, but have fun and stay safe! You would likely enjoy yourself more by exploring Upstate NY and heading into Vermont, the roads and scenery is just fabulous.
  15. Have news for ya, it happens with them ALL. And as for Chase they have been nothing less than fantastic in stopping the suspicious threats and taking care of it when it happened, and hackers find ways to do what they do and are very resourceful.
  16. High beams are a total sense of false security, but keep doing it if you think it works.
  17. To hell with debit cards, use mine "only" to take out cash. I know they can be protected, but I will gladly continue to use my Chase cards for all of my purchases. Credit cards for me are same as cash, but I am not actually using my cash if I get hacked.
  18. Too damn low.....trust me.
  19. Highly doubtful that the Pony is gonna do anything for free.
  20. The S100 does work well, but I typically just hand wash with microfiber cloth and turtlewax ice car wash soap. When dried I like to polish with some good ole Lemon Pledge and a mircofiber cloth, that gets done like maybe twice a year.
  21. How big of a turnout, looks pretty small compared to the previous years? Sounds like y'all had fun, and nobody got hurt that went down.
  22. Beauty of a bike and congrats, nothing else needs to be said by me.
