  1. Agree....but this is what happens when you have multiple 24 hour news channels, and seemingly anybody can have their own talk show these days.
  2. You for sure get it Ryan, and I have never had an issue passing anything "or multiple anythings" quite briskly on the Vee.......it easily lifts the front wheel up in the air too from 1st through third. You need to ride mine one of these days, especially since I have gotten it dialed in. The new Vee II has actually gotten some very favorable reviews, and I am betting when there is another big ADV bike shootout, it will be an all around preferable bike for the "honest" testers.
  3. I hit allot of gravel and fire roads in my big Strom quite often. As for the Versys, that parallel twin is pretty sweet and the bike overall is a hoot to ride and very flexible.
  4. I have big expectations for the new 1000 V-Strom, and I have a feeling it is going to deliver BIGTIME. Some are complaining that it does not have the HP of the Multi or the KTM and even calling the engine adequate or bland "hilarious", but to me 150 HP in a bike like that is nothing but a total waste of HP "and possibly engine longevity". A legitimate 100 HP race derived twin that revs quick and has a sweet torque hit and powerband, which can run in excess of 130 MPH and also reportedly gets killer gas mileage too.....what is not to like? ZUK made some fabulous changes to the new Strom, it is a totally new bike and not a reworked model at all. Love my well equipped 2006, but I must admit the new Vee II has really got me thinking and wanting a bit too much.
  5. Bet they are easy to pick up?
  6. Buddy of mine has one and he rides it more than his new 1200RT. The V-Strom 650 engine is amazing "especially the latest", but comparing it to an FZ1 or Z1000 engine is comparing apples to oranges. The 1000 V-Strom engine runs pretty strong, I find I am lacking nothing coming off a C14. Of course I already owned a 1000 Strom previously, so I was not ignorant by getting another. Different character and power curves with the twins, personally I enjoy them much more than a 4 cylinder.
  7. Could have to do with sportbikes not being made, designed or intended to be comfortable? Sport touring bikes like an FJR or a Concours 14, many times are going to have allot of miles on them, but just like many HD riders out there, they too may not be ridden much. Some just like to throw allot of money into a bike for bragging rights, but many times all those add on's and modifications rarely get used if ever.
  8. She is my whore now.....and I hard her hard and put her away wet!
  9. Group rides of how many typically, and do you honestly enjoy group rides? To me a group ride is about 4 of us MAX....and that includes me, is about as big a group that I like. The secret is "who rides with you", skill level and experience goes a long way towards safety for all. I am not happy when a group of HOGS are severely slowing me down with their parade when I am also out trying to enjoy myself "and oh the God awful noise", and I am not out averaging much above the speed limit either. You would rarely see me or any of the guys I ride with parking under a bridge or overpass during inclement weather, we just keep on trucking down the road. Of course good gear allows that, otherwise rain on sunburned skin hurts like a bitch. Sounds like you actually ride, and that is what matters regardless of what your choice of bike is.
  10. Not much for cruising, but I sure do like to ride.
  11. Re-read what you said again, see if it truly makes any sense. Rider being careless, bold, inexperienced.......is a big difference than a vehicle with or without a trailer that cannot stay in its lane or especially make a turn without totally blocking the entire road or falling off the damn hill. THAT IS THE PROBLEM on route 129......plain and simple.
  12. Nobody better........ http://www.fuelmotousa.com/dynojet-power-commander-v.html
  13. Pretty sure that BMW motorcycles are having some assembly in India? Autobots.......move out!!!!!!
  14. Your a funny guy, and just how many times have you ridden the dragon? Riders go down on that road all the time without riding too fast, so riding beyond your abilities is not always the reason why the Dragon bites riders. That road is pretty much impassible for big trucks and RV's, and I am not just talking 18 wheelers.
  15. It is all about how well you can hide it.
  16. Shame shame shame........
  17. Nothing like the good ole days of jarts, clackers, Daisy Red Rider bb gun wars, shooting bottle rockets at eachother, throwing daggers and stars, green machines, sniffing model glue, and having a slingshot!!!!!
  18. All the moto specfiic boots fit differently, especially for brand and models. Go to the Pony and try on a bunch, and then buy "from them" the boot that feels good and fits right. I will NEVER wear anything other than motorcycle boots ever again.....the protection, comfort, waterproof, no laces, and just pure convenience of them is just awesome. A vast majority of riders that take trips and ride in all weather conditions, will more than likely have motorcycle boots on, or eventually end up in a pair.
  19. Looks like I might need another Yamaha in the garage, and why isn't uber reliable Suzuki on that list? BMW is only first because of the rear drive failures they had for a few years, and possibly some CANBUS issues. Considering their top selling model is the GS and it can be put into several of those categories, I have to wonder how they ultimately broke down the models for them? I am betting that the current crop of BMW's will be extremely reliable for the next few years, it will be interesting to see more data at that point for another comparison. Harley's in stock form are very reliable, but so many just love to dick around with the exhaust and fuel management, which done to a non high performance engine makes no sense to me. Well I guess the point is to make more noise, so I reckon that makes sense.
  20. I am really liking it.......I don't feel it is moving slow at all, everyone is separated now yet they are really not that far away from eachother. Robert Kirkland and Greg Nicotero said the action is going to be very intense this season.
  21. So in essence, it is a a total breakdown of the American family and family values.
  22. Oh I am liking what I am seeing "allot" concerning the new 1000 V2, it is just that I like my well equipped 06 so damn much. I tend to have this thing about only keeping a bike for 4 years, and that new V2 is for sure whispering bad things to me. The latest 1200GS is so bad ass and that new water cooled boxer is amazing, they are not unreliable bikes at all, just that there are certain things you need to stay up and aware on. I have ridden a ton of different Hogs by the way, enjoyed every one of them for what they were. Rented a heritage soft tail classic several years ago out in Vegas "was a nice machine", and that was a very enjoyable 8 hours of incredible scenic riding.
