  1. They are such a great bike, can be made into quite the track weapon or even a trip machine.
  2. Put me down as a "maybe", although I have a feeling some of the groups are going to be too big again. And I think that Nelsonville would be a great meeting point and start for the ride.
  3. Never said "you" were a lifestyle rider kind of guy, sorry if I came across that way. Open face helmet huh, guess that would explain the wind in my face comment. This is my 2nd V-Strom and had an 05 previously, just love the damn bikes. 2TallTims C14 is my previous bike, we made a swap last year and are both happy as can be. The C14 is a bad ass bike "owned one for 4 years", but it is a hand full for most of how and where I love to ride. On the slab it will get you into trouble, it is smooth as glass and is laughing and taunting you at 100 MPH. I find the ADV style of bikes to be my kind of machine, they are all about versatility and a major smile factor. You fully have my appreciation for whatever you ride, and there are not many motorcycles that I honestly do not like, I just would never own them. Star and Victory's offerings are far from dumbed down Harley clones, many ex Harley riders are owners of them now, and I am sure for various reasons. My dream bike is probably the latest 1200GS Adventure from BMW, but I am a Strom owner and I am cheap. The stereotyping that many Harley owners have is well deserved, that is why it is called stereotyping........statistics and blatantly obvious. Glad you are not a poser or a lifestyle guy, you will no doubt be a great addition to the forum.
  4. Because you look like a badass while doing it?
  5. I wear a helmet and proper gear all the time, so there is no wind or bugs in my face. Pretty pro ATGATT group here, but I have zero issue with those that chose not to wear gear or minimal at best.......your life and your choice. If you travel and explore allot in all weather conditions on 2 wheels, you will tend to wear gear more times than not. We are not a big cruiser crowd here "especially Harley", but we all love everything motorcycles that is for sure.
  6. I hope that Indian really dips into Harley's pocketbook, about time they have some competition again in the gourmet bike market.
  7. Trade in value for a motorcycle does not mean squat to me, I don't buy a motorcycle on how well it will resell or hold it's value. It is just a motorcycle, they make them everyday and there are a shit ton of them out there. Make it your own to suit your needs.......my need is to RIDE!!!!
  8. The Star line from Yamaha is anything but a Harley clone, they are an all around better bike "mechanically" and in handling. Harley Davidson was not first, Indian gets the nod for that and they are coming back with a vengeance against Harley. If cruisers are your thing and so is a lifestyle of fitting in and impeding traffic, then there is no better overall choice than a HOG. Is not everything a clone of something in a way, especially when there is success? Riding is not a lifestyle for me, good give a rats ass what anyone thinks about my choice in motorcycles. I am not a biker, I am a motorcyclist plain and simple. I will never own a cruiser, they flatout bore the living hell out of me, however a bagger for 2 up is hard to beat for many people. My V-Strom is a great 2 up bike as well, and I can go places most cruisers would never dare try, and it handles like it is on rails in the twisty stuff too. So ride what you like, but I don't ride to have a lifestyle or try to fit in with the club. Ghostrider......that is how I would much rather be.
  9. That water is a big reason why their Bourbon is so yummy.
  10. Very cool, congrats on getting Indian into the store!
  11. Chris Broderick is "unreal", he and Mustaine together there is no better duo IMHO. You realize how mediocre Kirk Hammet is after you listen to Megadeth for a bit, and same can be said for Slayer and Testament.
  12. This stuff is the shit, Jim custom makes everything and skimps on nothing. It may seem a bit pricey to some, but for the quality of components and the attention to detail....he cannot be beat. http://www.easternbeaver.com/Main/Wiring_Kits/Fuseboxes/fuseboxes.html
  13. Megadeth is AWESOME and I have most of their albums, Endgame is probably my favorite along with Rust in Peace! Yeah Metallica is not the angry band they once were, they got older and sober "money hungry too" I guess. Their sound is nothing like it used to be, they are a glam metal band now.
  14. Bit pricey for what ya get IMHO, but as long as it works that is what matters I reckon. For a bit more one could go with an Eastern Beaver PC8 and wiring harness.
  15. I only had teachers like that in my wildest wet dreams.
  16. My oh my is she sexy.
  17. Warning stickers gotta go buddy!!!!! LOL
  18. Your timing for things like this is a bit scary.
  19. I would have gotten a DUI, and price seemed a bit steep for a cheap ass like me. Glad y'all had fun!!!
  20. I love stuff like that, especially the heat source that uses the tea candles and flower pots.
