Surface is junk Kidding.. I will say the patches are in a pretty bad spot but overall the surface is great. I will also note that I dont think the actual patches have the grip of the normal asphalt, cant get near the drive out of the turns while on the patch that you can on the normal surface.
-
Nice save! It sure is hard to get that line right to stay on the inside of that patch. If you go for a track walk you will find that patch is not even with the normal pavement on that side, but as you go towards the outside its a bit more level.

See you there next weekend?
-
Thanks! Not the closest race I recorded of the weekend but the only one I have access to at this point to upload.

Would be cool to race at night, looks like fun. Here is a video from Saturday at nelson. A Superbike expert

I "should" be at NC Bike July 25th and 26th, see you there!
-
I think some of us are going to go to Roebling but mainly for cost even though the drive sucks. NCM is the better track for sure.

Hey I know of one, has a brand new oil\water pump

Trek rollin deep I will probably never forget watching you fly over the bars not even 5 minutes into the ride.

Brian on a 400 and his kid on a 300.

I believe that's his son.

I wouldnt get rid of it without trying it out first. I dont mind it as much as most and it has probably saved me once or twice. The lever has 0 feel and you will get some fade, but I love the linked brakes. Dragging that rear brake really settles the bike I think. The only other expert rider I can think of that uses it is Koflowitch, so everyone must be ditching it for a reason 🤷♂️. I am going to try it out and see how things go.

I absolutely love the electronics on the track. I have then turned down as far as they will go, allows me to slide the bike around on entry or exit but keeps me in check if I go too far. I do still have ABS but that will probably be gone for next year. If someone wants to take out a 200rwhp bike with no safety nets more power to them, but I just want to rip around on track with my buddies and go home in the same condition I showed up in and electronics help with all that. The best thing is to not engage TC at all but still have more rear wheel speed. Once TC engages you will still get drive but not as much as you would without it being activated. "This all being personal experience on an R1" If you want to watch big bike racing without electronics BSB would be your best bet.

Something else to consider that I know doesnt get much attention on street bikes would be to have your suspension serviced. I always send out the suspension on my track bikes every winter to have it gone over, fluids and seals replaced etc.... Not saying a bike that just throws down street miles needs it done every year, but just something to consider. I got my R1 with 12000 miles on it and the fluid in the forks was like mud.

I get the sv thing, ultra light would just be frustrating unless racing other ultra lights.
-
An R3 would be in the ultra light category. From a track day perspective I could see that size bike getting a tad bit frustrating in terms of passing a larger bike where the rules allow. But this is coming from a guy who hates riding anything smaller than a 1k so take that with a grain of salt.

In the meantime here are some videos. "No not of you Nivin" Need to clean that wind screen...

Glad to see you and the bike were unharmed @F4iguy. Looks like you may have ran a bit wide on entrance and tried to tighten up your line? I know you said you were working on carrying more speed through there, could have turned in at the same place and been just a few feet off.

It was great seeing you again @NinjaDoc. With half of our original group gone it was an awesome feeling to be able to ride with you again.

I did the barber TD one year, then last year was there for the GNF. It's a pretty crappy drive, as good as barber is as a track I'm not sure it's worth the drive from up here. However if you stay another day and check out the museum then that may be worth it. Unfortunately I have never been in the museum.
