  1. I think I went through 15 gallons this weekend lol.
  2. I struggled to get a clean lap. With coaching and only being the 2nd time on the R1 this year I was happy with the results. Sloppy lap but about as good as it got for me this past weekend.
  3. I really like the layout of Grattan. I have only been there once which was last year but aside from needing a repave I liked it.
  4. I group will always and forever be the meat grinder.
  5. It's not an R, but has ohlins suspension and the brembo MC which make is the same thing as an R.
  6. Which is why I am now on the track 😛 Everyone should give this a watch if you have a few minutes. https://youtu.be/R0ebbmV8LpQ
  7. Another great resource is James Bock with podium motorsports. He is further away but his shipping rates seem lower than most vendors that are closer.
  8. Good point, I'm not sure if my R1 would give any front brake if I used any rear brake input. I get my rear abs to kick on alot without feeling anything in the front so atleast those are seperate systems, I'm not sure if a goldwing would take the same approach to a braking system. Front or rear input if applied correctly should tighten a radius regardless.
  9. "Use the brake until you are happy with your speed and direction" If you dont get off the brake until you are ready to add throttle you can modulate the brake lever to adjust your speed in a smooth manner "much like approaching a stop sign". Treat the slowest point of a corner as a stop sign, you dont slam on the brakes then release the brakes and coast to a stop at a stop sign, you slowly release brake pressure to come to a smooth stop while adjusting your speed accordingly. So you just treat the slowest part of the corner like a stop sign but instead of a target speed of 0 its 35 or 50 or whatever. This will also improve your geometry and provide a more consistent load on the front tire. But most of that is turning into track talk so after that I'm out lol.
  10. In regards to using the rear brake to turn a bike with linked brakes equipped I'm actually not sure how that would work. I have never actually used the rear brake in a corner aside from what the linked brakes provide.
  11. If you apply the brakes too abruptly it can cause the bike to not want to turn in as well, I experienced this at VIR last year going into T3. You use the brakes to adjust the geometry of the bike to help turn in but apparently I was jumping on them a bit too aggressively. Smoothed out the inputs and the bike behaved normally again. I have linked brakes on my R1 and have no issues with it.
  12. I'm not sure I'd throw them quite into the street tire bucket. I ran them on my 675 and only got 2-3 days out of the rear. But they are cheaper and dont require warmers.
  13. Sc3 front is my favorite front aside from the V1271. I would do trackdays and coach on an sc3 rear but the grip is not there when trying to race or throw down a fast lap. Il always sprint race on a 1 or 0 rear.
  14. Nice riding with you guys. Hopefully I can pull out the big gun for the next one.
  15. Always have those guys going 50mph around the track when the red comes out. You can try and signal to them to speed up but it normally doesnt do much good.
  16. Havent ridden it yet. I picked it up as a bike to coach on, but I have spent a decent amount of time on a 12 675R. Turns in really well, not as stable as an r6 on the edge of the tire. I have no street experience on one.
  17. I paid 4500 for my 10 675. Ohlins suspension, STM slipper, arrow exhaust etc.... it has 5000 miles on it. I feel like the seller could have got 5k out of it easily, maybe 5500 for the right buyer.
  18. Sounds good, I may need to add another TRS plate.
  19. Hoping to get most of the work done Saturday and Sunday... will see how it goes.
  20. 9 days left until we leave for Summit, have a busy weekend ahead.
  21. I think John is going to ncbike as well.
  22. Both of those trips are rough for towing if you avoid the turnpike. We will have to make plans when we see what Ron is doing as well.
  23. Atleast to NC bike, I am not sure if summit will be worth a ride share if it's out of the way. I will have room for a bike, maybe 2 for nc bike. I'm not sure what Ron's plans are for travel.
  24. In reality I will probably have to skip that first wera round.
