  1. Game is at 8pm, weather in the 80s, and time is ticking on the number of weekends left like this.  Hell, it could snow next weekend and the bikes will be up till May.  So....I am planning to put some miles in on Saturday in preparation for an evening of screaming at my TV.

Let's meet at KFC (Newark, Ohio....Cedar Street exit off of route 16) at 11:30am.  Should allow ample time for the temp to get up past 60 degrees.  Route is to be determined depending on interest and what the group would like to do.  But I'm thinking I'd like to be back by 4pm.

Post up and don't be a sissy.  You'll regret not going on this ride when you're starting the salamander just to look at your bike in your garage in December.

  2. Weather this week looks great. And I have Tuesday off. So I plan to ride.

Meet at KFC in Newark at noon. Route will be 79-541-60-83-78-669 back home. Probably will be a good three/ four hour ride. 70 plus degrees is the high.

If people need the time moved later to join, post up. There should be some flexibility to the schedule.

  3. Yeah, that might work. I'm planning to be there. Shit, there are only a few riding days left this year. Sometimes you just gotta do what you want and deal with the aftermath later.

  4. I'll post up tomorrow, but maybe early afternoon.....like 1pm or 2pm. Maybe try to go 79-541-60-83-78-669 back home. I've been wanting to do that route for a while and haven't gotten around to it. If that's no good, then we can just stay in the Coshocton area.

  5. I'm in if the weather isn't shit.  This weekend looks to be worthless for my football teams, and with the Trent Richardson trade....hey my Sundays just opened up for the rest of the year.

    In, depending on the weather.

  6. I've been wanting to do a ride that includes 541,60, 83, 78 and 669.  So I'm trying to put it together for Saturday.  The Buckeyes game isn't till 7pm, so it's a good morning to ride.

I'm thinking meet at KFC in Newark at route 16 and Cedar Street (Route 79) at 11am and then head out.  The trip is medium length, faster pace.....but we wait for everyone at the intersections.  So don't let your pace keep you from joining the ride.

Hope to see you guys out there.

  7. Hoping to meet a little early to get back by 1pm for kickoff....so I'm thinking meet at KFC 9:45 and ride some Coshocton roads.

Nothing too rigid as far as route. Probably get some route 60 in there and maybe 541. Just hoping to get out for a few hours. Post up if you're looking to ride for a bit.

  8. I haven't been able to make it out to ride because I've been in the process of moving... and the process of moving sucks.

But by Monday I should be able to get out. So I thought I'd put together a ride. I'll post a definitive route tomorrow, and would be l fun to go South. Just wanted to see who all is interested.

Meet at KFC in Newark at 11am and we'll head out from there. Look forward to seeing you guys there!

  9. :dunno:

I've lived all over.  I've driven in the majority of the States.  To me, Ohio's roads are "comparable" to others.  Yes, there are some outright horrible ones...same as everywhere.

Lol.  Heavy trucks, "harsh winters", no money...LOL.

"Iowa has far worse winters" ... far worse than Hawaii maybe.

Go to Europe for good roads.

Not sure what this means.  I spent about ten years in Iowa as a kid.....and I have never been in a more harsh environment than an Iowan winter.  Sub zero temperatures for days at a time with 2 feet of snow on the ground and 30 mph wind that NEVER, EVER stops.  An Iowan winter is the opposite of a Hawaiian winter.

The difference between an Iowa winter and an Ohio winter is we get breaks and warming periods, and most importantly we don't have the penetrating wind of the great plains.
